Yes i guess it’s a good app a few suggestions
Basically the content is old from years ago add more recent videos and for most YouTube channels on this app you can’t view also you can basically never use cc(subtitles) also there should be tighter moderation for some videos because ya anyways there should be even harder questions for that password thing instead of 4x3 that’s just easy make it something that they would have a hard time doing know like 32x9x7x12 anyways bey.

So when I started when I was 6 ( I’m 10 now not 6 ) it was amazing at first but then I saw something. There was a video filmed by a guy named Ishowspeed. I clicked on it cuz the guy looked cool but he then said da M word. I will not put it on for young children and concerned parents. So it’s not for children. PS U tube for adults is better

Great app other than someone left out the playlist function
My 7 year old would watch the same videos on repeat forever if they could queue them up easily. But nope—no custom playlists in YouTube Kids!
Every parent knows kids obsess over favorites, yet Google decided ‘approved content only’ mode is enough curation. Spoiler: It’s not. Hand-picking videos one by one gets old fast when your kid screams ‘Again!’ for the 47th time.
Come on, devs—let us make a simple safe playlist from approved stuff. It’s 2026, not 2016 and it’s not rocket science, learn what your customers actually want.
Fix this basic feature and it’d be 5 stars easy.

To the developers it will be nice if you can include the option of blocking some search words that shouldn’t come up on suggestions when the child is navigating the app. For example Scary cartoons, Halloween, it will be appreciated if parents are given the choice I am a parent that is concerned about some shows and cartoons on the app that are against some of our beliefs and morals. This is actually really good. Its safe for kids but theres some things i would like it to improve on:
1. Maybe add a shorts section? With likes and safe shorts and a comment section where you can ONLY type in emojis or something like that and u cant see normal youtube comments?

YouTube Kids was supposed to be an app for children under 13, but it ended up showing these videos that we call, ElsaGate. ElsaGate was a huge problem with YouTube Kids back in 2015, and toddlers were so addicted to these videos back then, but luckily, it got fixed. This is why you shouldn't give your kid(s) an iPad, because back in 2015 or 2016 there were filters to protect children from inappropriate content, but the AI still ended up showing inappropriate content, which ruins the app itself.
You can't be able to search up anything, upload your videos, make playlists and more stuff that you can only do on normal YouTube. So, this app was good but bad.
And if you don't know what is ElsaGate, it's those videos that use characters from popular kids media like Mickey Mouse, Elsa, Spiderman, Batman and so on. These videos are still being made today, mainly using more modern content that is at its peak as of right now, mainly sexuallising the characters in the thumbnails to attract many kids into watching it, giving them more views and money as they upload them. So just delete ts diddy😔🥀

Every few days or so it keeps taking my favourite video off and then putting it back on again after another few days, with no indication or way of stopping it. Not only that but the Tap to Talk algorithm on it doesn’t understand anything I’m saying. It easily causes major frustration and can very easily cause anger and frustration. I wouldn’t suggest using this if you know how to write. Also it doesn’t have any sound on the home page or music. Altogether I wouldn’t recommend to get this for your child 10 or 11 or under. I’m thinking of either deleting the app or keeping it and hoping none of this happens.

Can’t send bug report
I haven’t been able to add content to my child’s approved content for a few months now because every time I search in the settings, it comes back with a Try Searching for Something Else page. I tried to send a bug report but the Report a Problem link and App Support link don’t work in the App Store and at one point we’re taking me to a LEGO app…on my laptop, I tried adding content but it doesn’t even give me the approved content option in settings. In short, the app and the website are inconsistent, they don’t function as they should, and support is nonexistent.

Good start but far away from perfect from Google
Once you are logged in to the settings as a parent there is no way to edit the block list! Also there is NO WAY to remove videos from MyStuff, editing MyStuff should be unrestricted and allowed to all so even my kid should be able to remove something that we previously watched but we did not like. It only makes sense to allow editing of MyStuff if Search is allowed!! Don't you think? And I do no not want to block something that I only wish to remove from the MyStuff! It is marked by a Star symbol anyway which means it is equivalent with Favorites, so when watching something that should not appear in MyStuff automatically. I should be able to give Star a video to get into my MyStuff list! Just think about it... Cheers.

Good App, but…
We use this app all the time for our child. We are able to select channels we allow and it enables our child to select from those. Easy controls, etc.. the reason for 3 stars is that we tend to travel frequently and we used to be able to download some of the most popular videos within the app which was a god send when on flights or long car journeys. For some reason we no longer have this option. We are even YT Premium family users and there is no way to link it to that subscription.

It’s cool but needs some changes
The new look is terrible 😞This is a very good app but some videos are bad and someone said this (I can’t remember who it was but shoutout to them!) said that you should be able to change if you want the new look or the old look. For kids that can’t type I was thinking you could change in settings if you want a different way of searching or normal, I really don’t like the new look. Where are all the characters? The music? The swiping sound? The new version is effortless and very plain. In settings I feel like you should be able to change if you want seasonal updates or category illustrations etc. please add sssniperwolf pleeeease. I think children 9-12 should be able to comment on videos, we should get livestreams of child friendly games and more.
For the passwords thing the times tables questions like 2x9=19 or 7x8=56, I feel like a lot of 7-12 year olds would know them. Thank you for listening and bye!🌈its also very hard to block or report videos and channels.

New layout Awful for Neurodivergent children
A totally unnecessary update has caused havoc for my non-verbal child. To us it may be small changes, but please consider how huge the changes are for an autistic child. Looks completely different, buttons are in new places, watch favourites is totally different. Having done a quick search this is a common problem in the autism community and the changes are causing a lot of unnecessary distress. Maybe for our children you could have an option to still use the old format and layout? Or don’t make so many changes at the same time for what appears to be for no reason whatsoever.

Hi there so this app is like AMAZING😍😍👏👏👏and totally good 👍. (I recommend it) But there are issues, the first one is that some content is inappropriate, such as inappropriate photos😓 and scary content.😢 I would love for Google to check the content. Number 2 is the parent settings LOOK I like that you can do stuff on it but the maths questions are TOO EASY. They are questions that a lot of older children know !📖📖 So maybe make it a bit harder and yes.. I know you can do a password but some people don’t know so please do help. This app is a very important way for young citizens to enjoy and learn from such a young age. I have thoroughly enjoyed having it and has made me a very knowledgeable and fun individual. I would ultimately recommend this app to any parents who have young children, but I would also suggest that it enquired some tweaks. For example: it be more child friendly (like children having the chance to choose background music. My point being that for some individuals listening to music might not be something they have experienced). And the use of better adverts. Overall, this app is both entertaining and enjoyable and has helped me to learn lots.

This app is very kid friendly and my child love it!and watches it all the time and tells me all about what she watches😊and it is all good stuff. I would just like to say the access to the time limit is a bit easy to get in ones or twice my child has got in, I do not know how to change the password and I do wish you made it like it used to be that all you have to do is do a math question. This app isn’t really good
As you can see from the title, this app isn’t really good. Why? Getting this app is like buying a timeshare (this is coming from a child, so I have spent more time on the app) and timeshares aren’t good.
First of all, I have seen PENNYWISE, 3AM VIDEOS and other not very appropriate things. This isn’t good, especially for parents and children. They could get nightmares for weeks and yet people allow this content at a young age.
Secondly, even though there are age groups, there are still baby videos on every one. Mine is Older and yet I still find Cocomelon to this day. That’s not what I am looking for. Also on younger children accounts I found zombies, which are not good for the younger audience.
And lastly, there is clickbait. On YTKids, I’ve seen big channels telling dangerous lies to their audience :((((

•I would like to see as well a option to restrict videos which are promoting toys or unboxing new toys , are making kids very anxious and frustrated they can not get them as well , definitely this should be a criteria to filter videos
• another filter option would be to select the language, we live in UK and majority of the videos are American which obviously has a different dialect and words then British English

It’s good but it’s not for me
I like it’s but there is not enough things for non girly people like me I can find things for non girly people and also maybe things like Harry Potter audiobooks and other audiobooks for people who like to sleep with noise. Would recommend if girly or don’t sleep with noise don’t if you like the opposite like me. Disclaimer this is NOT meant to be harsh not that I think it is but yah I like the app a lot more now that I can find things I like compared with it when I couldn’t ❤️ would and wouldn’t recommend

Overall good
Generally good content though a LOT of Halloween / zombie / monster videos in the preschool bit - I’ve had to do the manual channel selection as my 3yo was having nightmares!
Don’t understand how the algorithms work, recommended content always seems to be loads of toot and not pick up on the channels we pick regularly. Also when you block a video it still shows in the selection screen so my 3yo is figuring out that I’m mucking with her shows - would be great if they could disappear straight away.

Best app ever
My baby sister loves to watch her cartoons and it has no issues some apps have ads but this has rare ads . Also it lets you pick an age group when you start and I personally think it is very helpful because you don’t want you kid to watch inappropriate stuff . For my baby sister I put kids aged 3 and when she started to watch it it had blippi and baby shark

I think it’s really good, but there is something you can improve like when you watch the video you can watch the same one over and over again without searching, so you would need to remember what it is and that’s a bit harder for little kids like a four year old, but it’s pretty good for the older ones but not that good because she can’t watch the Wales or stuff like is still pretty kitty stuff but it’s better than what you can set it for for little kids but it’s a pretty good app to go on, and it’s completely safe if you want to know ☺️😁

Yt kids is children channels and videos and your child to learn how to say sorry everytime they realize they done something wrong and being polite and yt kids has like only appropriate videos for your child especially tannerites they learn lots of kids to apologize to something they did wrong they are amazing I'm even 9 year's old and I still watch tannerites 10/10 recommend getting yt kids and if your wondering what tannerites is about tannerites is about learning your child to apologize for something they did wrong, its funny, they sometimes play Mr wolf,sometimes plays texting Mafia,plays hide n seek,red rover and much more and if if you ever get yt kids for your child then I hope they like it just like me😁😘💜

No adds but some at the beginning you start kids you tube and if you use the same password at the beginning then you videos will be safe and stay same for blocking and you can make videos to just get the equipment and then you can not adds you won’t exist in adds and you can rate but if your grown ups say no you need to know great times like 3x3=9 like that lots of people know that maths to do it press the lock 🔒 button at the bottom it’s a extremely excellent every way and every day it’s so much fun and I hope you enjoy this app 👋

its a great app for children but…
when you start the app you can select what age group you would like the system to select recommended videos for but, even the 12+ selection provides (in my opinion) rubbish reccomendations. and the ads for videos are of items like my little pony and super wings baby transformers stuff which lets be honest no 12 yr old wants so it would be good if you could change the ads to more age suitable products and you do NOT NEED a ‘well be back after this ad’ it makes it UNNESARILY longer and just makes people annoyed

Great app but …
I really like the app but I wonder if you can make search more reliable because I barely find what I’m looking for. Instead get a totally different answer then what I asked for or says can’t find what you’re looking for, sometimes I cannot even find what searched up before which is so annoying because sometimes it’s my favourite video.

Think about Autistic children more.
My child loved this app until the recent change to the interface and soft music. Now he won’t use it. The interface is altered, there’s a try these channels 'block' at the end the watched previously section so it won’t scroll through to recommendations as smoothly as it did before but worst of all is the change to music and the opening graphics… way too busy. Please give us the option to have different openings and gentler music or at least turn it off. I know developers love to tinker to 'keep things fresh' but for our household it’s not an 'improvement' but a loss of enjoyable resource. Think about autistic children more.

Honest review of YT kids.
Hello, I personally like YT kids because there is a bunch of amazing YT channels but, can you add a feature where you can comment on the video please? I don’t mind if you enable it or not, just an idea. I also like YT kids because there is ads, but not too many. Honestly, I recommend it but maybe make the age rating a bit higher because a few reviews say it is inappropriate for the age of 4. Unless you delete videos that contain killing features, maybe make the age rating a bit higher like, 7+ or something.
Thank you creators for all the support and I would like to hear from you to see if you would like to add the comment feature. I know I sound grown-up but I’m only 9, therefore I’m rating this game.

This app is amazing and this is my honest review ok so this game is amazing and let’s you and your family watch lots of amazing things in my opinion I would say this game is 3+ but that’s just my opinion and parents can set up an account for you or your kid and there are no bad words or rude things on it if u want your kids not to see that kinda thing this game is amazing but there is one little complaint so this is an amazing game but you can only play it at your house not in the car,boat,plane or wherever you are that is not your house but apart from that this game is amazing and you should download it now It’s for free and have fun!

Inappropriate
I had the app restricted to 4 and under for my 5 year old. However, there’s a lot of content which is based on adults playing with toys or video games and talking about killing, eating your baby, fighting, horror characters, and personally; I just find that highly inappropriate for a 5 year old, besides 4 and under. One video clip of a cartoon character being sliced by a giant saw blade with blood coming out, gave my son nightmares, and he still has to sleep with the light on. If you don’t mind your child watching this sort of thing, then fine, but suitable content seems to be a contentious area for parents where a rating system certainly does not fit a ‘one size fits all’ purpose.

Great app for children
I think this app is great for children but I do not know how to like the videos or where the comment section is but if there isn’t please add that although I do know how to subscribe and it was very close to 5 stars but actually 4 because adverts also get in the way before watching the video and that is not needed for me so please delete the adverts if you can. Allow access to older version please
I would give this 5 stars, but after wiping my iPad to try to deck clutter it, I find the only app my 2 year used, now is too 'new' to install on my iPad2.
I won't buy a newer iPad just because I'm being forced to run a newer version of the same app I ran just hours ago on this perfectly good iPad, bar the cracked screen, which my 2 year old did so definitely not going to upgrade as that one would probably get damaged too, so before any developer thinks the latest version is always best, consider younger users (who this app is aimed at!) 😞

Good, but needs to improve.
Some kids parents allow them to watch songs with bad words. For the kids that listen to songs with bad words, update it with bad word songs. It’s a great improvement to do and kids that do not listen to them the songs will have to be blocked if you can do that update, I gave you 3 stars. Good app but quite boring
This is quite a cool app, I go on it EVERY day, and I don’t mean just like once a week, I really like watching videos on here. But one thing, it is quite boring after a while, like I said in the title, and there isn’t any very good videos on there. Their are 2 great channels on there I recommend watching! They are called: “Disney XD” which is a show where people prank other people, but it’s very interesting, and I recommend you try a video on there and see. The other channel is “Applause New York” which is short movies where kids act but it’s very funny and cool. I also love the intro! So yeah! Try it out.

It was great until now
I would give 5 stars, untill now!
It was always great to entertain the kids in their tablets and keep them away from my phone. Now app is no longer supported by tablet software still (iOS 9.3.5). Why can’t you just make updates and still allow old software to use it? Now kids no longer want their tablets and “fight” to have my phone.
This is just for us to spend money buying new tablets, make apple making more money and what can we do with older tablets?? Just dispose them? This is s i Oi s just a joke. But you’re not the only app, fortunately there’s (only) a few that still think about this matter.

Volume limit please!
Love this app, I had a second child recently and big sister loves being able to control her own videos, I’d LOVE it if there was a way I could set a volume limit though, as she has recently been shown by some well meaning idiot, sorry family member, how to control the sound and is waking baby up. Otherwise would be 5*. Lovely thanks for keeping the content safe for our littles.

Amazing App! Could Hardly Get Better!
This app is outstanding; it has brilliant features and perfect videos incredibly accurate on their ratings. This app contains different age groups: perfect for children up to 12 years old. My only problem is that in the gaming section for the 8-12 year olds, sometimes there is people playing video games that require you to be 12+ to actually play. Over than that, this app is perfect! P.S, this review came from an 11 y/o!

Not age appropriate content
Why does this app ask for the ages of your child? I thought it was to show only age appropriate content, and not let them see anything too old for them.
Imagine my shock when YTKids showed a loads of content regarding LGBT+ subjects to MY SIX YEAR OLD SON!!!!!!
Why can’t my son be a child and have all the innocence that a six year old deserves to have? They’re will plenty of time for him to learn about sexuality, and gender. But right now all I want is for him to be a kid, and the biggest thing he has to worry about is playing with his toys and friends.

This is app is perfect . It has all sorts on it . I love the happy environment in it . It feels really welcoming , I think it’s really use-full how there are shows and all the categories are shown at the top! This app is just brilliant . Great Fantanstic.....but VOLUME CONTROL
This is a great app, it’s a safe secure way your kids will enjoy it and you can rest assured they will love it but......the in screen volume control must be removed. My kids just blast this to annoy me.
I can restrict or disable other functions through accessibility and all that but this app dose at allow that for volume control. Please sort this out for the next update.
But again great app for anyone with kids. Excellent if not for that tiny little minute thingy.

The block feature does not work!!!!
I have blocked several videos and channels from my son watching, and can still search and find the BLOCKED videos to watch! I think you should pay attention and fix something you think is working fine! In my eyes block means cannot search,find,and watch! But you block feature does not do that!
If this block feature wasn’t the way it is I would give a 5 star review but you clearly don’t believe in kids been safe, parents block for a reason not for them to search, find, and watch anyway! I hope this gets backed by many, and followed up and fixed fast!

Would be better if filtered by language
My 2 year old is just learning to talk and loves wtChing videos on the app . And has already started singing and counting due to the videos being colourful and informative . But the biggest and only problem I have with this app . Is all of a sudden the video will switch to a foreign language. I do not have any issue with my child learning another language. But I would like her to learn English first . So when a video switches like that I have to keep blocking those videos . Would be nice if we could filter all videos by language

Brilliant
Brilliant app for wee ones. My daughter is only 15 months and can navigate the app perfectly. I don't understand all these negative reviews. There's nothing inappropriate about the videos, some of them are annoying yes haha, but my child finds them most entertaining. You can't possibly blame the app for your child suddenly having a nightmare! The cause could've stemmed from anything. Snowflakes raising snowflakes I guess 🙄 The app got 5 stars from me.

Inappropriate content for children
My son started watching cartoon programs on here and after a period of time discovered “jeffy” videos which I completely feel are inappropriate for children. My children cam to me telling me he’s naughty and what he says and when I watched with them I was appalled what they had been watching.
This app is developed by google and in my opinion was aimed at children... this is not the case
Really disappointed and have been trying to contact someone from either google/YouTube on how to further restrict my account so my children do not see inappropriate content as I cannot seem to restrict it myself or block videos or block users

Innapropriate videos for smaller ones
Let my son watch kids tube as I was concerned over what he'd see if I let him watch regular tube. Started off great watching peppa pig and all the usual videos of cartoons he loves watching on tv. BUT once the recommended videos started coming, they all became weird and in my opinion inappropriate. This daddy finger mummy finger song has the weirdest videos of them all. Son started waking in the night crying and I couldn't figure why he was so scared, kept saying monsters scared him so Iv deleted the app. Crying and waking in the night has stopped thankfully and I'm blaming the videos he was watching for his nightmares.
