Apple Health Support is Back

UPDATE: ok, it’s an unremarkable app but it’s solid and does what I need. 4 stars. Can never get 5 because of the previous situation.

UPDATE: Well Apple Health support is back. Wasn’t super thrilled about being gaslit about this from their support team but I’m really happy it’s back. I’ve bumped to 3 stars. Is a solid app so could go higher. I’ll review again after using the new version for a little while. Thanks to the team for bringing this back.

Have used this for years and bought specifically for the Apple Health integration. That seems to have gone. Also, it took me four goes to register a single reading. This is a medical device and the app needs to be treated with more care. Looks pretty but boy the current release is poor.

UPDATE: bizarre reply from Helen of Troy email support for this product “I understood your inquiry, however, I provided the information we have on the matter.

The syncing of the data was not something that the app was built for, it happened due to an app synchronization in previous versions.

We do not have information about such a returning functionality, unfortunately.”

As a developer myself, I simply can’t understand why this was not reimplemented in the new app. It would only take a few hours to implement. Either cost cutting or trying to create a moat around the data for commercial reasons. Neither is great for the customer.

I have a great many Braun products (shavers, o2 monitors, toothbrushes, etc) but this experience has made me think I will not be buying any more. I’ll look to other manufacturers such as Withings for better long term support of their supporting apps.

Fails to sync all results

The hardware seems to work, however it was bought on the premise that I could manage data via the app, and share with healthcare professionals.

However, the app fails to sync all readings, and even when it does you cannot export the raw data (old a PDF).

It's a poor app, wish I had not bought the device, very poor overall.

Don’t update

Program shuts down

I updated this prior to Christmas 2025. It was working fine prior to that and I was able to send my doctor readings which was really important since updating. I open the program. I’ve synced it but now when I open the program, it just blows me out and shuts down. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and it is still the same blowing me out of the program. Is this going to be fixed?

Since this app was updated I can’t export the data as csv or to excel - just pdf. It’s pretty useless now. It worked well before. How to ruin a product by messing with an app.

Think twice before updating to version 2.3.1

I wish I hadn’t updated the app to Version 2.3.1 - the app no longer shows any readings indicating atrial fibrillation, despite this being a feature of the exact fit 5 connect. The interface isn’t great - the previous version I was using before this update was so much better than this. The previous app was much more user friendly. Think twice before updating!

Edit - the app just gets worse! It no longer sincs my readings and everyone now has to be inputted manually. This used to be a great product and app. No longer so.

After purchasing a Braun BP monitor I downloaded this app but it freezes on the very 1st screen. Followed Braun’s advice to delete and re-install but still the same. Braun advised I return the device to Amazon for a refund! Same issue with an iPad. Note - App Store claims “This app is compatible with your device.”

🚨❌ Warning: Misleading Product – Apple Health Support Removed Without Notice

Do not buy the Braun i7. If you’re expecting Apple Health integration, as clearly advertised, you will be extremely disappointed. That was the only reason I purchased this device, and Braun has now silently removed Apple Health support through a recent app update.

This is not just a minor change — it’s a complete reversal of a key advertised feature. The product worked as promised when purchased, but Braun has knowingly broken that functionality and chosen to ignore the many users who have voiced their frustration.

This is unacceptable. It shows a blatant disregard for customers and a total lack of accountability. Braun’s actions raise serious concerns about trust and long-term support. They’ve demonstrated they are not a reliable brand, and I would urge anyone considering their products to look elsewhere.

I am actively looking into whether this constitutes false advertising, as what Braun has done here is deceptive and completely unjustified.

Was looking forward to having all my body data in one place. Unfortunately this app is a stand alone it does not link with the heath app for Apple.. Apparently it used too. Disappointed that it doesn’t as monitoring other body measurements with my smart scales. I would go with a different brand if I knew!

There has obviously been an app update in the time since I last used my device. It used to sync instantly to the device but now either doesn’t sync at all or does so hours later putting the times out of order. It was fine before- why mess with it and ruin it.

Bluetooth used to work but doesn’t now, so have to enter details manually which is a nuisance! Other than the Bluetooth issue on iOS it’s a great app and is very useful to keep an eye on one’s blood pressure.

Doesn’t sync with Apple health

Used to be a great app, probably still is if you don’t want to sync your data with Apple Health app, this was one of the main reasons I bought the Braun Bluetooth blood pressure monitor. Since the update on the app towards the latter part of 2024 it doesn’t automatically sync and have to input data manually. Contacted the developer who didn’t seem to grasp the issue.

So bought another Bluetooth device from another brand where the iHealth app syncs with Apple Health seamlessly.

Used to work great, now has issues.

This app used to work really well. But since the update if you don’t close the app down completely before taking a reading it will record the reading against the date you opened the app. So if you take a reading on consecutive days without opening the task manager and closing the app it will record all the readings against the first date. Also no longer syncs with Apple health care app, which was a bug draw for buying this in the first place.

The updated app has removed all the best functionality

I bought the Braun Blood Pressure Monitor primary due its Bluetooth function and the App being able to sync with Apple Health. Well now the Bluetooth connection only last about a minute and it keeps shutting off which means you have to go through the connection process every time you take a reading. Most doctors want you to take 3 test over 6 minutes.

Also now they have taken away the sync with Apple Health.

I am getting infuriated by manufacturers/developers removing functionality that you based your purchase on and think it’s all okay just to take that functionality away.

Latest update missing features

What happened to all my data!

I went into the app for the fist time in a few months to enter my latest readings, noticing that it was a different app. and I had to register again. Alarm bells started to ring immediately and my worst fears were confirmed when I discovered all my previous data was no longer there. This included all the readings taken in the period before and after my heart attack in 2023, which I shared with various consultants. I can’t see any other way of contacting the developer, so if you read this can you please let me know if there is any way that the data history can be recovered? Thank you

For all those who, like me, could not get the app to accept terms and conditions because the accept button isn’t “live’, unbelievably you can tick alongside the terms and conditions, although you could be forgiven if you didn’t spot the box that you have to tick in. Look closely or just randomly click around the left hand side of the statement and bingo, once you hit the target you are able to accept the T&C.

Still one star for the feeble design of this very important page in the app.

Apple health sync stopped working

App worked fine for ages until recently where it no longer syncs with apple health. Also syncing between the app and machine is not working properly; it will only sync readings taken when the app is open. In the past, any readings taken from the machine will be synced once you open the app. The update went backwards not forward.

Update has broken apple health

The latest update sept 2024 no longer updates readings in apple health, the very reason I bought the device. Developers do not seem to be responding to other users who have also reported the same issue.

Until this is fixed I would not recommend buying a BP monitor from Braun, and pick a different manufacturer who have a working app

App no longer working as before

The app does not download every reading like in the past. One now has to have the app open for it to register the machine and even then one has to take multiple readings for it to at least register one.

Also the layout used to be better than it now.

I may have to look if I can find a better app or a competitors machine. I need to track my blood pressure 4 times a day and it used to be a joy. Now it’s just annoying and frustrating.

To the developers sometimes keeping it simple is best and not very change needs to be done for the sake of making a change or a mark. And do you even use the machines and app yourself???

The app was dumbed down in October 2024

Braun was our go-to for blood pressure monitoring and we have had more than five because of the previous working app and its professional quality data export. This capability was lost in October, seemingly in favour of prettiness but it means we are seeking something better now. I have tried everything, but if I missed a csv export, can you let me know please and I will uprate this review. If it could link the data to the Apple Health app it would make it sensible because that is really what I need.

New 2024 App Total Rubbish

Been using this product iCheck 7 with App on iPhone Pro Max models since 2020. It used to work just great and have some great features like the the really useful colour coded ‘trend bar plot’. Syncing worked flawlessly and export of data was really appreciated by my Consultants. New 2024 version is absolute total rubbish. Have to keep removing the device and reconnecting Bluetooth. The handy bar trend plot is gone. If you don’t have the App running when you take a reading it doesn’t sync. It no longer syncs readings held in the devices 100 reading memory. Random readings show up in the history. Multiple duplicates of the same reading appear. Whoever decided to change the App from the Management is an idiot and the software is clearly not written by competent software engineers or testing properly at all.

The app is missing a lot of functionality. No apple health sync, it skips readings and doesnt connect to the device properly a lot of the time. Read the latest reviews you will see that all reviews since the last update are negative. This is really bad form for a medical device and once trusted brand. It has really effected my opinion on the braun brand. Bugs are fine but not fixing them or rolling back to the previous version is irresponsible for a medical device!

C’mon Braun - Please fix the Apple Health Sync Issue?

Bought this to replace old Boots monitor. Bought from Braun as it was a trusted brand in my eye and the Apple Health integration was a big plus in monitoring overall health.

Old app worked a charm! Then app was updated. Takes ages to sync from device and I now have several months worth of twice daily readings stuck in the Braun app, isolated and useless.

Apple Health shows the app as inactive.

Are you going to fix this? Or do I need to ditch for another working system?

Going by latest app reviews would seem I am not the only one.

You’re wrecking a great problem and affecting the reputation of the Braun brand with a non functioning product.

Very unstable

I’ve been using the app since September, and initially, it synced seamlessly with Apple Health for the first few weeks. However, this functionality stopped on October 6th. Since then, while I have been able to sync my readings from the monitor, the app no longer writes this information to Apple Health, which has been incredibly frustrating. I attempted to reach out to Braun customer service through the provided link, but after two days, I still hadn’t received a response. If you’re considering spending extra money for the convenience of automatically monitoring your blood pressure from your phone, I unfortunately have to say it might not be worth it. I genuinely hope I’m wrong about this.

Won’t open and now wrong dates

Since my first review the app has now been updated and now does not crash on iOS 18. However when it has synced the data from the device it’s tagged all the readings as year 2000

Instead of the actual year. Absolutely hopeless. Would mot recommend buying one of these devices until this app is fixed.

Dear Support,

I have now installed the latest update of the Braun Healthy app (v.2.3.2).

I completed a new Bluetooth setup as User A and did the same for my wife as User B. On both our iPhones, I verified in Settings > Health that the app has permission to write data to the Apple Health app.

The app successfully synchronizes blood pressure and heart rate values but still fails to transfer this data into Apple Health. Additionally, when I attempt to generate a report for my medical team, no data is available for sharing.

I suspect this issue might be related to the historic data in Apple Health associated with the Braun Healthy Heart app. When I navigate to Heart > Blood Pressure > Data Sources & Access > Healthy Heart, the app appears as Inactive below that line.

When reviewing the data, the last recorded value is from 28 September 2024, 11:12, which corresponds to the date you transitioned to the “new app.”

I am reluctant to delete all historic data from Apple Health, as doing so would result in the loss of approximately two years of critical data (three measurements per day). Unfortunately, I have not found a way to export or back up this information. As I am under treatment and observation for fibrillation, retaining this data is vital for my medical history and ongoing care.

Until this issue is resolved, I must conclude that the app remains ineffective and does not meet the quality standards I have come to associate with Braun. I hope this issue will be addressed promptly.

Latest update has made tho worse

Since the last update a month or so ago, the reading now overlap the text on screen (my text size is set slightly larger on the phone) also, when looking at list view, can only see dates for the last few readings, all previous readings do not show dates on screen. What is going on - what happened to your accessibility standards (A11Y) ?

Why break something that worked?

This used to be a great app. Sure it was short in visual flair but it was fast and it didn’t crash. Now the app looks modern and has flair but it fails at its basic purpose, downloading BP and showing the history. I have to wait ages for it to download the results from the BP monitor and suffer the little spinning dial thing for what feels like ages. Previously it was near instant. Now I see nothing until I close the phone and open it again.

Apple Health Sync broken

We have two of these devices, one for myself and the other for my wife and have been using for several years regularly and with no issue. As others have mentioned, the latest update has broken or removed the ability to sync the data with Apple Health, one of the primary reasons we chose this Braun device over others? Is a fix planned?

Apple HealthKit sync broken

This used to work fine, but now appears broken. I thought it was a problem on my side, but having read the recent reviews, I can see I am not alone. The whole reason why I bought the ExactFit 5 was for the Apple HealthKit sync. As I now have to manually input into Apple Health, I should have bought a much cheaper device. Not happy at all.

It used to be great now it doesn't work

This is so frustrating it's a classic case of it worked great, developers getting caught up in their own worlds of iterative development and they break the very product they sell.

App doesn't even open now, so the app is pointless. I've lost data I was working with my doctor on which has been very stressful.

The devices work fine but the software behind it, classic agile style development where they can't leave it alone for a week without breaking something.

Upgrade not working correctly

The app worked brilliantly with the Exact Fit 5 BPM, but the latest app upgrade is next to useless.

It doesn’t sync automatically on start up of machine. When it decides to sync it mixes up person A & B. Told the app to forget each A & B account then reinstalled following instructions. Everything then seemed ok until next used - then everything syncing to user A (yes I did choose the correct user when re-syncing). This is a mess. How can a brilliant app be rendered so useless in one upgrade?

Braun need an urgent fix to solve these issues - whether a firmware upgrade or an app update that works. Why do manufacturers not make sure that their software works correctly before issuing updates (Braun are not on their own here)?

App update screwed up good product

The app was updated and now takes 5 times as long to sync, dumped all my historic data into a single date and the averages / tracking functions don’t work.

The people who designed the update should repair the damage immediately or get fired.

The star is for the actual monitor which is a good product.

Great sphyg. Update caused issue for me

I have used the Braun Exactfit 5 for years and am very very pleased with it. The latest app upgrade has left me a problem that the device links well to the iPhone but the reading is not transferred to the Apple Health app.

I hope this can be fixed in the next update

Was great then it updated...

All my data got messed up with the update, I had multiple readings across many days and once the app updated all these readings were set to the same day and exactly the same time....cmon....

UPDATE: All the graphs and logs are completely broken and no longer show any data. DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU'RE ON THE OLD VERSION.

Horrible update

This app worked flawlessly with my iPhone health app but once it updated it does not sync with health in iOS tried disconnecting deleting everything and reinstalling but nope why fix something that was not broke it’s a real shame as that is the main reason I bought the exactfit 5 connect was so I could sync with Apple health I have high blood pressure and the only way o can do it is to manually enter it put it back to the way it was Braun

Some aspects not working on iPhone 14

Used to work fine but since upgrading to iPhone 14 the list function no longer works and there is no back arrow on graph page so you need to shut down the app and restart to get to home page

Great machine, easy to use.

Had this machine well over a month and can’t fault it. I’ve got high blood pressure and had to monitor my BP for the doctor. Nice and easy to use and with the app I can send all my BP results to the doc via email, WhatsApp or text.

App easy to use as well as setting it all up.

If anyone is after a good quality BP machine that also does your heart rate then this is the one for you. Easy 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love this!

I have to do my blood pressure for my GP every 3 months but every time the GP does it, it’s sky high.

Now I can do it at home which means my blood pressure is actually slightly low (normal for me) and I can easily access the App to show my GP when I have to see him.

Bluetooth readings unreliable

works okay. Could be some improvements to some of the displayed info. But the basic view is fine. And quick red amber green display is effective.

Bp machine should send readings to app via Bluetooth though. And again both my and my wife’s readings failed to register on the app today. Bluetooth was on in iPhones settings before both readings were taken.

Sometimes works if reading is taken again.

But disappointing as that was one of the selling points of this model.

I see there is a manual input option. But that defeats the purpose of a Bluetooth device.

I would take bp again but it might be higher now!

Good but could be improved

Overall does the job well. It would be better if the Ap allowed a comment with each reading. EG. Apples “ Health Ap”. Currently I have to upload to the Braun Ap, then manually transfer to the Apple one. Whoever gets their first with an auto upload will take my business.

I have the Braun BUA1605CEME and it works well. On 5 or 6 days it has correctly detected an irregular heartbeat and given the broken heart symbol. Today for the first time I’ve used the SHARE function and sent the data in a CSV file to my Mac. However, the IRREGULAR HEARTBEAT column shows NO all the way down. I’ve phoned in and reported this but was advised to record it here too. I hope this function will be fixed in a new release soon. It’s possible to overwrite the NO so I’ve manually recorded the days I had a bad heartbeat.

Pretty good, but needs 1 crucial improvement

The app works flawlessly, once I installed it and paired the monitor with my phone it downloaded all the reads instantly.

However, this app needs support for multiple users, can’t have each family member with his own monitor.

Brilliant kit!! Went to doctor with my iPhone history, retested and spot in! Imperative warning sign for everyone that never get to a doctor. I introduced to several family members who also bought the iCheck 7 and all so grateful. A must in any home. Only Braun!! Well done guys, you made a serious difference in our lives!!

Food for thoughts

App is exceptionally basic at the same time easy to use.

I think facility to add notes should be added as a matter of urgency.

There should be a more comprehensive method to represents BP fluctuations on time of the day basis

Sure this app is not a medical tool or health professional, however there should be lot more analysis /analytical presentations.

There should be definitely an Apple watch app with possible reminders.

There should be a facility to add little symbols of activities (running / relaxing /gym work) what you did just before you took the BP recording.

App Should connect to built-in and or external recommended heart health related resources.

Well..I can go on and on, as the app is getting very RICH HEALTH RELATED data, developers should be creative enough to do millions of things with that exceptionally rich health data.

Doesn’t do what it says on the can!

I purchased this product because I was able to keep records on my phone, it worked for a while then nothing it’s telling me it’s downloaded the info but it hasn’t.

Only way is note it down, but defeats the object!

Sharing Function

I think the Machine and app are very good, however the sharing does not work! I have tried several times to email the information to various email addresses. The app looks like it is sending and indeed sounds like it is sending, but it never arrives?? I do need this function at it helped me to decide on the purchase. Is this an inherent fault I wonder.

Great Braun iCheck 7 BPW 4500

Just purchased this yesterday from Boots as it was on offer for £20 off and I am impressed. It was so easy to use. It is also quiet in operation and comfortable to wear. When I linked it to my iPad for the first time it said the monitor needed a firmware upgrade which I agreed to and this 8 minute process went well without any problems. It did warn me that any BP readings on my monitor would be deleted when doing a firmware upgrade and gave me a chance to download them first. I chose not to do so and proceeded with the firmware upgrade as I had already downloaded the BP readings data to my iPad. Great product.

UPDATE. The app developers contacted me, they apologised and the historical data has been restored. I am impressed that they took the time to respond to me and so have changed my review.

Original review: I have been using this app for a while and thought it was quite good until the latest update when I lost ALL historical data without warning. As has been mentioned in other reviews, whoever allowed this update to go out without actively warning existing users should be fired. If this is the casual nature that the development team have for user data, think twice before installing.
