50% off pizza deal has a mind of its own
Just to clarify, I have ordered with Papa John’s on a regular basis for quite a while, I’ve never really had an issue with them.
Today with some friends we ordered some pizza, selecting the deal for 50% off all pizza.
I come to find that the app has a mind of its own, turning off the deal that I selected, charging me full price. Meaning I paid (in our case) £35 more for the exact same thing.
I’m quite upset that there doesn’t seem to be a way to remedy this, or that there isn’t a clear set of guidelines on who to contact for it.

Not recognising my account details
The deals were easy to follow and complete. I tried to register, as I thought I hadn’t registered, and then when I did it told me I had an account already. However, when I tried to login it told me my account details weren’t correct. After a few goes, I had to order, as a guest, which meant I couldn’t get any rewards.

Apple Pay doesn’t work at checkout. As soon as you open the tab to pay with Apple Pay it says ‘Processing’ before failing. That would t be too much of an issue but then it makes you manually type in your card details rather than drawing them from your phone like other sites manage to do. Not good.

There’s no other pizza place to go to, always been piping hot with the best juiciest flavours and leaves me wanting more. Large portions, much bigger than some of the competitors. And some of the offers are amazing, almost half price every time. Big family here, so can’t buy often but I get lots of reward points. And it’s lovely to have that free pizza every four or five. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Well what can I say, do you love pizza? Well then Papa is for you, use some of papas specials/ rewards and pizza becomes cost effective and well blows the compilation out the water. I also prefer papa because the toppings are awesome and I feel the toppings are better quality than other pizza places, more cheese, just better all round. I did not give 5 stars because a few times the pizza has come with one or two being wrong, when it’s wrong it’s annoying because it’s delivered and to have corrected, one person is waiting for their pizza, otherwise awesome pizza, best takeaway pizza in uK.

Lots of bugs… still!
App just does not seem to improve much over the years.
Latest issue:
1) Despite just making an order… the order does NOT show up in the “Past Orders” section.
2) As order is not in Past Orders (despite receiving an e-mail confirmation of the order), you cannot track your order like the Deliveroo app
3) App seems to be designed to be only Portrait orientation for iPad… and will not flip to landscape (which is the orientation that my iPad is fixed in it’s keyboard case).
4) Points expire after 6 months. It would seem that if you want to encourage people to come back to the app… why make the points expire. It just puts me off room wanting to order from them again.

I’ve ordered from the Arnold Branch many times. The food is always fabulous, arrives quickly and is always hot. We don’t order pizza from anywhere else. If for any reason a change needs making they call and offer alternatives. The same if delivery is delayed but this is rare. I cannot fault the quality of the food or service hence the reason why it’s my go to pizza takeaway ❤️

Best pizza, fast delivery and good costumer service
What else one could ask for? I always order (make your own pizza) up to the family desires. Always got what I ordered. Always delivered fast, one time I needed to call the shop for receiving a notification email of order cancellation, the staff were so polite explained that they needed to close early that day and refund was already processed before I called. The family’s favourite!

Back in the day I loved PJ as they had some really great pizzas and really good deals. I didn’t mind spend £30 as I got everything I wanted.
Today, I just wanted to order some pizzas and checked on the app and chose the “40% when you order £25 or more” deal.
I think it’s disgusting that you basically priced up a medium (MEDIUM) pizza for £20 just so you don’t lose money but can tell you customers that oh we have good deals. It’s just disgusting. Don’t know who is your marketing/sales team but I would have a chat with them. Won’t use it ever again.

Lack of some features
App lacks Apple Pay payment and has some confusing ui when making 2 for 1 deal. Essentially when in the middle of building the deal back is pressed the deal is lost and you need to start from scratch. Frustrating when doing half and half pizzas!
Additionally there is no find store next to me, and it only works for some delivery spots? A bit confusing!

Awful app
Love the food. But have been using this app over the years and it will never allow you to sign in. I’ve tried resetting my password and it crashes every time I put my email in.
So over the years I would have built up a lot of free pizzas in the app but because it never allows me to sign in I never get the rewards. Really upset about it to be honest as other companies have their apps working just fine so why can’t you? I have tried contacting support through the app and the link does nothing no matter how many times you try.

Have been using Papa Johns in fishponds for sometime now. The food is always excellent and always the same which as I said before is exactly what you want from a takeaway. The in-store offers are always really good and it’s a good value treat night for the four of us as a family.

The best buffalo wings, pizza and service
As a family we are obsessed with the food quality, the wings are my favourite as they are non feathery. I can not stand seing feathers on wings. Pizza is always fresh & delicious and dips really complement it. Orders come very early and if they don’t we always receive a voucher automatically. Their offers are unbeatable we don’t even spend £15 to feed 3 of us. Absolutely my favourite and doesn’t break the bank.

Shame that they are always cutting corners to save costs at the expense of our fast food. I particularly dislike the reduction of chicken bits, the new dip sauces being cheapened (watered down) and the inconsistencies in offers being made. Some offers seem to contradict others and the simple offers (xxl pizza for £x delivered) has gone. Think I'll try local companies rather than chains.

Papa john’s paternal support
Their pizza is excellent quality, much bigger than their rivals dominos and Pizza Hut and the ingredients are much better quality so it doesn’t feel like your eating a sugar toastie. They are constantly running promotions which provide real value and a rewards system which reward you with a free large pizza once you reach the criteria. The app is better now too to enable quick and easy selection of these rewards. All in all, excellent quality pizza

Gift card issue
Hello, i had a gift card that i didn’t use. But when i wanted to use it says” gift card is no longer valid”. I went back to the email and it says in tiny little words at the end of the email that it got expired. I mean I don’t mind the gift card but be more clear and more noticeable for us to see it. Or maybe a warning email that states that this gift card will expire soon.

The ‘reward scheme’ is a complete con. You don’t get anything ‘free’ at all. In order to get anything free you have to spend £11, which (regardless of your knowledge of math) is not ‘free’. All the side dishes are awful and remind me of the slop they used to serve as free school dinners for impoverished kids and also to prison inmates in the 80’s. There isn’t much desert choice either. Nobody wants chocolate ice cream or vegan ice cream. Good luck finding anyone who can speak English in the actual store and good luck finding anyone with half a brain cell working in the ‘online help’. Absolutely abysmal. There are plenty of frozen pizzas in Iceland for a fraction of the price and without being conned into a reward scheme with no reward and a cost of £11.

The app couldn't be worse. Have fun trying to make sense of the worlds worst ordering system on half a screen as the top half is occupied by unnecessary crap and tool bars. Try not to press the wrong thing while the screen forever refreshes and adds additional crap. After registering I couldn't log back in because my password was wrong?! I now can't even order because it tells me I have an account and need to log in. Domino's it is!

The app is still pretty crap. You can’t re-set your password through the app or it crashes.
You can’t access some options because you can’t dismiss the keyboard having typed your email address…which won’t autofill, neither will the phone number.
Come on. You make enough money. Employ some decent developers!

Bad for such a big company
The app always erases you past orders whenever you update. At least it remembers your points earned. It also has problems with showing actual shop opening times. As the app says you can order then the order won’t go through as the store is closed. And sometimes puts your order into a different store farther away. So by the time your order arrives (over 1 hour on 2 occasions) it’s cold.

Better Tracking Please
I realllllly want this app to give me a real time tracker when I order...just like D*****s! There has been an update which means you can check your emails and track your delivery through your browser but it would be sooo much easier to get updates through the app. Plus bugs that don’t keep you signed in, or when you change your password. Pizza is great always! But the app still needs a little looking at.

There seems to be a disconnect with the website and app. I placed an order with my account using the app and I never received a confirmation email as suggested. I then checked my past orders in the app but nothing was listed. I then logged in on the website and my order was listed but still no confirmation email from papa johns. Cross fingers the pizza arrives! :-/

Crashes when going into drinks section every time.
Rest of the app is fine but every time I go to scroll down the drinks section the app completely closes.
I’ve tried shutting down the app manually first and it still happens along with turning my phone off and on yet it still happens.
I have been using the website recently unless I don’t want a drink then I’ll use the app.

Papjohns overall is amazing it’s just the app that needs tweaking like telling us times of when to expect our orders, order confirmations through text and email, as well as immediately updating the order history so as to see what I ordered in the past week or minute, and just to keep it mindful that this is a review based solely on the apps functions after the order is placed as before then it is good.

Great Service Every Time
Pizza Night is sacred in our house and we have ordered from every local pizza delivery service in the past, but nothing beats Papa John’s in Wycombe for consistency of quality and service. Always prompt delivery, friendly staff and great customer service if there is any issue. It’s our only choice these days. Good job guys! Keep up the good work and stay safe in these trying times!

Papa John's pizza in Dartford has exceeded my expectations from the service they provide and the accuracy of my order. I like the fact that you can track the making of your pizza online. And knowing when exactly your order will be ready for collection. The special garlic sauce is my favorite, having that sauce makes me enjoy even the crust.

App does not work properly
When I order through Papa Johns website all works well and it finds the closest store to my postcode without a problem.
In the app it says there are no places close to my postcode and offers to deliver to a random car park miles away from me?! I thought I was selecting the store, not a delivery collection spot so I unknowingly chose to deliver to that random car park. Fortunately a phone call sorted this out. But until the postcode search works in the app the same way as on the website, I will not be using it.
Another thing is I am unable to add my address in the app even though I have this in my online profile already. In the app it says ‘no address’.
New password feature also does not react in the app (I am on the latest iOS), it just says click here to change password, but nothing happens no matter where I click.

Dear whom it concerns
We tried several times to make the website work to no avail. We used a laptop 3 phones and 3 different cards before the website finally allowed us to complete the payment without crashing. It was slow hard to use and quite frankly the buttons didn’t work. The deals didn’t go through and there was a constant *please fill in the red fields* despite the fields being quite obviously filled. We painstakingly managed to eventually get the order through and completed much to my friends dismay and the only reason we continued with this farce of a website is purely out of aggravation and having invested such a large portion of my evening trying to order your “fast” food. From now on I think I shall be ordering from dominoes as whilst the pizza is crap it is at least quick and easy.

So last night i ordered pizza around a party using this app, the payment was accepted by the company so then i went on my emails to see if i got sent the conformation email, which i did. On this email i clicked track this order which sent me to a link on there website which was stuck on a loading screen....
So i thought to call the restaurant which i have bought this pizza from, they claimed my order has not come through and that they cannot do anything about it even though i read them the order number. They continuously claimed that there is no order under this number...
So i never received this pizza, and the people at the restaurant weren't helpful in the slightest. There is no customer service number to call about this situation on this app also!!!!
And the MONEY has left my bank.
So, how do i go about a refund if there isn't a number to call and they wont respond to me???

Pizza to die for!!
Don’t write reviews very often and am very picky!!! Dominos mucked up my order 14 years ago. Still don’t use them!!! But have used papa johns and have enjoyed the pizzas every time. And super fast delivery each time also. The base on the original pizza base is lovely. And the veggie pizzas are also very good. I have not found any faults with them. 👍🏼

App Bug
I’ve received codes for free breadsticks in exchange for reviewing my experiences. Unfortunately on the App there is a bug which means you CANNOT apply these voucher codes, the app states “error calling API”. I’ve reported this to PJ’s but doubt this has been passed through to App Developers. There is no easy way to ensure developers are receiving customer feedback on mobile platforms.

I've recently updated the app now I can't see the menu options at the top of the screen, if I slide the screen down I can see the menu options but I can't select them, please fix this problem otherwise the app is useless if you can't order what you want.

Where is the delivery times?!
The app is simple to use and well laid out BUT unless I’m going blind, I cannot choose the time for delivery when placing an order?
I’m having to place the order then ring the store, which I’m all honesty defeats the object of the app, as I might as well just call the store and place the order in the first place! If it’s me just not looking in the right place then that’s my fault and I shall amend this review but can someone let me know please? 3 stars for now...

When you want to go back a step on the half n half, you can’t. You have to start the Oder all over again. It’s annoying if you’ve added things to the list already.

Being a fan of pizza and having been a frequent customer of the company that sounds abit like rominoes, i made the switch to papa johns when we got one in our town as just aren't in the same league, Iv never had a bad pizza the dough is spot on and the ingredients are delicious. And compared to other companies the pricing with constant offers make good value.

Had to place a few orders
So when I go to the papa johns app, I started adding things to my basket. I go to checkout and they asked for my email and phone number so I type it in. It says my order went through and I would receive a confirmation email. The email never came and I waited at least ten minutes. I go back to the app and there’s no sign of my order/ me ordering anything. I decide to wait a little longer for my email to come through but nothing came. About half an hour after I thought I placed my order I place another one. Then I do get a confirmation email for my second order. But my local papa johns calls me and says I’ve placed two orders?? Please make sure your customers know wether or not they’re order has gone through.

UX better but can't see last order
An improvement to the purchase flow, but bugs remain. After placing an order, the details are nowhere to be found! My bank was charged, the store received the order, but it never showed up in my history, nor was there a way to follow my order. Look at Deliveroo my friends! They have it nailed!

Nightmare ordering
Ordering on line has been a total headache, firstly it crashed right at the end so I had to call the shop to see if the order had gone through and the lady didn’t understand so guessed it hadn’t, re-tried on line again and it crashed again and then downloaded the app once downloaded I started to place my order and added toppings to a pizza and it didn’t show if they have been added so I will wait and see if they have been when it arrives.
Feeling stressed and over hungry now as it’s taken so long 🙄

Absolutely hate ordering online with PapaJohn’s so much that I normally give up with the order and buy elsewhere. I thought I’d get the app to give it a go seeing as I hate the website so much but love the food and I can’t believe how much easier it is to order. It doesn’t crash like or freeze like the website does and the process is much faster.

Fantastic App and Pizza!
I recently downloaded this app as I was fed up of Just Eat claiming an extra pound for their pockets for whatever reason. Since joining I now get offers through the post which I am delighted with. I LOVE Papa John’s! This is the yummiest pizza I have ever eaten. This is money well spent and even more so to feed the family! So thank you Papa John’s! Never loved pizza so much!

Marketing notifications
App works fine but there’s no where to switch off Marketing Notifications and they come quite regularly. This means I’ve had to turn off notifications for your app completely so if you have delivery notifications or something I would want I’ll never know.
I believe it’s against Apple’s App Store guidelines to use push notifications for marketing purposes. It’s maybe acceptable if you can turn marketing off in the app but it doesn’t seem to be possible in yours. Please fix this or stop using your app to push marketing.

Would be handy if they added how long till your order is ready for collection.
& the option for cheese or no cheese topping was oddly in its own section after the question on crust type, (which can cost extra) my point there is it seemed like it was asking if you wanted extra cheese!? Plus the next slide was the list of ingredient options where you could take away or add, so why not just have the cheese included on that bit? no need for it to be confusingly separate n risk ordering without cheese which plus be terrible

Better after the update but still needs work
This app is a lot better now as you can actually order on the app instead of it loading up the website. A major downside is when you’ve ordered there is no estimated delivery time and no pizza tracker. These 2 features would have saved me phoning up the store multiple times. Maybe a thought for the next update.

Frustrating
Some deals are add a discount to basket and some are choose pizza but then you can’t choose toppings.
Do it like the Wetherspoons app which is order exactly what you want and the automatically apply a discount deal. Otherwise you spend ages trying to get the best deal and then you want to throw you phone out the window and never buy Papa Johns again. It is not a good game to experimenting to get the best deal it is very annoying.

Worst delivery ever
I bought a lot of pizzas from you guys but today was just hilarious! I needed to walk for 10’ because the driver couldn’t find a carpark! ( although there were on the main street some, just in front of my house). Found him sitting nice and cosy in his car. You should stop saying that u do “ home delivery “ if the driver doesn’t want/ is to busy/doesn’t have time to deliver the pizza at the home door of your clients. That’s why we are paying in the end.
Also late delivery (1h+ for just 1 km far away from the shop, that usually took around 35’) and when I attempted twice to call the lady just put the phone down.. that was mean.

New update disappointment
I have been using papa johns since 2016, the food is great and I definitely love ordering food from here, however this new update which was downloaded recently has taken away the track order to see the progress of how long the food is going to be, I didn’t write this review earlier because I thought I could find the page a lot earlier however i still can’t find it, it’s a great shame because this was a great feature to use in the app and it would be greatly appreciated if you could return this feature in the future 👍

Plus for dips!
You can finally just go to a screen where you press + up to the stupid amount of dips that you want instead of painfully scrolling and adding 2 at at a time.
Also.. it’s no longer annoyingly changing your pizza size to Large when you clicked medium.
No can eat a large by themselves.. no one. Can you imagine having the old app with scrolly 2x dip for the amount of dip you would need for a large?!!

New app is rubbish
There is no time for delivery on the new updated app, there is also no indication of where the order is in respect of cooking and on the road. I had to contact Papa John’s in order to ask where my pizza was, it had been over an hour! I was told by the delivery guy who turned up about 15 minutes after my phone call that the manager would phone me as regards compensation, but he/she never did!

Absolute torture to use
Adding a pizza was moderately ok. It’s not a great design for an app but it got the job done to get my pizza in to the basket.
Unfortunately that’s where everything went wrong.
The page which asks for your details includes buttons to opt out of emails and marketing but half of these are covered up when the keyboard pops up and there is then no way to opt out. This is a socially unethical these days. So that made me slightly hate Papa John.
Then the credit card kept declining saying that they wouldn’t accept my payment type. This made no sense as the icon for my cars type displayed. So I went out of the app and started again, and then it did accept my card this time. So the app is obviously full of bugs when taking payments.
So I’ll enjoy my pizza when it arrives, but I now think papa john has an unethical marketing department, an incompetent finance department and a truly awful app design department.
Will use a different pizza company next time.

Finally! Great job!
For years now I have hated the old Papa Johns ‘app’ which was basically a web browser displaying a webpage. Now they have designed this new app and I must say it is fantastic! Looks goods, works well first time. My old quark is that I was unable to add extra toppings to my The Works pizza as it stated I could only have 7 toppings? Usually I’m able to add Sweetcorn and those spicy peppers that being with a P?
Seriously though guys, great job!

Underwhelming update
At first glance the update looks good, but had to close and open multiple times before I could log in without “badGateway” error. Having to click through base, cheese, sauce and topping options and every time adds extra clicks and is bad UX design. To top it all off, placed an order for later and when I went back to app expecting to be able to track it, I got a prompt to confirm my order again! I’m fairly certain the order went through, but only because I checked my email.
On balance, I prefer the old app. I suspect the app developers had an arbitrary release deadline and scrimped on testing to get the app out of the door... fingers crossed that it improves with future updates.

Big improvement
The app is finally useable! You can finally order easily and it is much more like competitor apps. It will definitely encourage us to order more frequently (I can’t use the phone so apps are our ordering option).
I’d definitely suggest those who have had bad experiences in the past to give it another shot now.

Long Overdue/Greatly Improved
Well this is a much better/smoother user experience than the last version of this app! You can actually place an order and pay within the app rather than having to use it to click through to the website. Didn’t appear to be any glitches, I managed to place, edit, update, and pay for an order in just a few minutes. Well done! It’s taken a long time, but it seems to be worth it.
