What happened?
Paywalled? I understand you guys need to make money, but the only reason the app is any good is because of the daily submissions and updates from the riders.
Would rather have an ad pop up each time i open the app then have to pay to see riding locations.

Was previously a fantastic app - I trusted it in remote Mexican mountains without any mobile signal - now paywalled in an extremely annoying way so much, much less usable. Paywall is 25 GBP / year subscription, which is not realistic in terms of either price or business model, as much as I liked the app before. Also *incredibly* cheeky, given that the app’s value is entirely from user generated content.

Firstly, I’ve bought pro only to find it still wants to charge me so have spent 25 quid for free features, nice one! Secondly, the features are becoming less and less on the free version and I expect that to increase now Outside owns the company….

It was once a brilliant app now it is not worth getting unless you have money to burn
This used to be a brilliant app with all the trails free but now you get a tiny square showing the trails and the rest are stuck behind a pay wall making it useless if you travel to different trails further away I would not download it now it is just a waste of storage just get Strava if you want to record rides

A few months/years ago it was perfect. Told me all the routes I needed. All the local trails. Everything!

Used a few times but certainly don’t think the functionality is worth the subscription. I would buy for a one off reasonable amount but not worth a subscription. Shame everything is going down the subscription rip off route these days.

also it quits and needs to reload on a 5S too often.
i use 5S as they fit in your pocket while biking.

What have you done?
This used to be a cool app. I’ve even corrected/contributed to trails at my local site, but stupidly I updated my app recently and it’s now almost useless. Any attempt to zoom in is met with a screen block plus a demand to upgrade to Pro.
I’ll delete and go back to Strava... at least their basic version allows you check your own work.
It’s like being a member of a community pub project from the outset and then being handed a ban once you got it all up and running.🤷🏼♂️

I like this app but now when subscriptions were introduced i still like this app and I’m trying to subscribe to it but even SUBSCRIBE option not working.

Never understood why they made the app paid since it’s just basically run and built by the mountain bikers that go out their way to put the trails on the map now that you have to pay there will be less people marking up trails and less people using the app

Was a handy wee app ruined. I opened when visiting family in Scotland which set my local in Edinburgh so I can no longer access the map for the London area wher I actually live. My bad so upgraded to pro but it still won’t let me see local trails (yes, I have tried to ‘restore pro subscription’ in settings as instructed. It doesn’t work). If I have to pay, at least make sure the bloody thing works and I can access what I’ve paid for.

Another Subscription
Great another app with a subscription model. Add this too the hundreds of other money grubbing apps. This one is more obnoxious though in that it takes your user generated content and places it behind a paywall which it then sells to other mugs, Er, subscribers. There are plenty of other apps that charge for extended features as opposed to basic functionality so I’d go for those.

I just went biking and it gave me live gps location all the way round and showed me how far around I was and what direction I was facing
Worked really well
Only suggestion would to make it so you can see how much the whole trail distance is not just the sections.
Love the app and would highly recommend it 😀

Community driven app; turned into paywall
Unfortunately I felt the app was still a long way off being something that needed paying for. It still required a much larger community to be using it in the U.K. before the maps were updated regularly and pictures/trail conditions to also be updated.

Paywall killed it for me
Recently they switched to a subscription model which has severely damaged the user experience. Using even just the map screen doesnt work anymore properly without a massive “get pro” across the middle.
Its a shame as I have contributed to many of the trailforks services and now cant access them. I dont mind subscribing as people need to earn money to live, but PinkBike please re-look at how you have implemented it.

It had been such a good app and top of my list. Now completely unusable unless we pay. There is nothing to suggest that they won’t betray our trust again and hence will sadly delete.

Expected better experience
All of a sudden is asking me to pay to view trails which I can do for free on the website. GPS on it is not very accurate and sometimes having trouble locating the trails. Rubbish for tracking your rides too, so only used it for finding trails, but now just going to the website instead.

Free app just became paid to regain all the free stuff
Such a shame. Trailforks has been my go to and now they’ve suddenly introduced a paywall to access all the stuff people have been using for ages, and called it “Pro”. I’ve contributed to trails, kept logs and more and suddenly I’m bricked out. You could have left it free for existing users, at least.

Amazing app perfect apart from the fact that whenever I try to connect to strava I tick all the boxes and an error message comes up. Really recommend app and it will only get better as the community grows

Amazing app
This app is by far the best for trail browsing. Even though it looks like there are not many people it is still very useful for reports/ conditions. I definitely recommend this app and the will just get better as the Trailforks community grows. I have found new mtb trails near me that I never new existed. I really recommend this app.

Great concept but...
Support is useless, I’ve linked my strava account to Trailforks, my routes you can view on a pc but the app hasn’t updated them for over 2 weeks! Support told me after numerous emails that it will sort itself out!! Joke

It's a bit rough around the edges as an app but pretty straightforward to use and a brilliant way to find new trails.

Very handy
Used it for a few days on a road trip in Scotland. Very handy. Most trails on it, some missing. Bit battery hungry and occasionally crashes, but the pluses far outweigh any negatives. Can only get better I'm sure.

First impression looks great, love the ease of use, finding trails, viewing stats/profiles and being able to link straight to videos of the trails. The Nav options look great also.
