Description

In December 2014 Caroline Flack danced her way into the nation's hearts when she raised the BBC's coveted Strictly Come DancingGlitterball. Known for her throatylaugh, edgy humour and quick-fire wit, showcased on some of Britain's most popular spin-off shows, 2015 saw her thrust into the mainstream, hosting ITV's flagship talent show, The X Factor, with Olly Murs.
In Storm in a C Cup, Caroline reveals the laughter and pain behind the TV persona, from a sheltered Norfolk childhood shared with her twin sister, through her madcap student days, to the challenging career ladder leading to eventual TV success, not forgetting its dark shadow, when intrusive media attention turned the dream into a nightmare. She takes us behind the cameras at some of TV's most successful reality shows, including the tensions, stresses and unlikely friendships of the three-month adventure that was Strictly. Caroline wears her heart on her sleeve, documenting her joys and heartbreaks with the humour, resilience and unflinching emotional honesty that have made her of one of television's most popular celebrities working in television today.

An Exceptional Read

Caroline Flack's; 'A Storm In A Cup.' Not the first choice on your typical 23 year old guys reading list, but was on mine.
Having read the superficial articles about Caroline in the media, I wanted to find a bit more about the bubbly personality we saw won Strictly, and rightly so may I add!
The way she tells her own story is unique. Her childhood one of great happiness and also great loss too. Her attention to detail throughout engages the reader whether it be in deepest Norfolk performing shows and singing songs for her parents, or in LA having a glass of red with Simon Cowell.
Yes the stories about certain people that everyone wants to hear are embedded in the book. But it's the other stories, of Nanny Flo or of holidays away to Cornwall that are the heart and sole of this book.
Her wit and 'cheekiness' we see in the media certainly comes out in this book. But there is also that strong underlying emotion that we don't see, but is such a key theme to the book, which again makes it such a page turner.
You would naturally think that women would be the target audience. But that couldn't bet further from the truth. If you're looking for a good honest autobiography that is compelling, funny and and down right interesting, then give this book a go.

A lovely read

Loved this book @carolineflack Similar in age so it also took me back to my childhood and memories with my older sister. I chuckle about having a boyfriend with a blue escort, mine was a boy with a blue chevette! Clapton is where my Nan lived too so it was at times so familiar, though also very different! Interesting read, lovely writing and wish you all the best with your career and relationships going forward. You deserve a Prince Harry!
