Jane stumbles on the rental opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to live in a beautiful ultra-minimalist house designed by an enigmatic architect, on condition she abides by a long list of exacting rules. After moving in, she discovers that a previous tenant, Emma, met a mysterious death there - and starts to wonder if her own story will be a re-run of the girl before. As twist after twist catches the reader off guard, Emma's past and Jane's present become inexorably entwined in this tense, page-turning portrayal of psychological obsession.
Following in the footsteps of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train, The Girl Before is being brought to the big screen by Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard.
'A deeply addictive literary thriller that deserves to be one of this year's biggest successes' Daily Express

Overall I really enjoyed this book, I found the switch between characters kept me interested and it grabbed my attention throughout. Was a little disappointed with the ending tho, bit of an anti climax!

I read this book in less than a day as the beginning and middle is very intriguing. However, I found the ending quite anti-climatic. There’s good twists along the way and it’s still worth reading.

Great read, had me gripped. Felt the final twist of Jane’s story was a bit unrealistic and unnecessary, that was a bit disappointing for me but still very entertaining.

I enjoyed reading this book, but was disappointed with the conclusions and felt it was a bit predictable. Still, it kept my interest and was an enjoyable read to pass the time!

A good read however

A very good read however at times it seems you are reading the same book twice. Intentional I’m sure due to the narrative however it can be quite jarring at times. Also the iBooks formatting leaves some to be desired leaving multiple blank pages throughout the book further breaking up sections that don’t need to be broken up.
The narrative itself however is fantastic. A compelling read and a great page turner. And at a very good price. Definitely recommend reading.

An extraordinary book.

I’ve read many, many books but never one like this. The construction of the story is unique, as far as I’m aware, and brings the characters to life and the plot into focus in a strange but satisfying way. A compelling tale with layer upon layer of psychological issues with which the reader grapples.

Not a bad read, I’ve read worse but can’t say I’d recommend it. Got a bit bored of the to-Ing and fro-in between Jane and Emma, the therapist seemed pointless? And have to say it was easy to figure out the murderer and the ending was a bit pointless?

I loved this book! I read this as I was holidaying in Egypt and I probably spent more time reading this than enjoying the sun!
Totally unpredictable which is what I love when it comes to books and the outcome was well thought out. I liked each individual characters and I loved how the author allowed us to understand the personalities and characteristics of each person in the book. A very good read. I could not put this book down, and if you begin to read this you will understand why!

I have just finished reading this book and although at the beginning it was difficult to get into as the story started off slow it was a fantastic read! Even when I wasn't reading this the story was going around in my mind about the characters. The ending had a fantastic spin on it where everything made perfect sense. Would highly recommend to others.

I'm sorry but this is no Girl On A Train! I'm about a third of the way through but no plot has appeared and it's drifted into some sort of Fifty Shades territory, with writing to match! Maybe it improves but I sincerely doubt it, so given up.

I really enjoyed this book, as did my husband - I read it out loud whilst on a long drive. I could barely put it down as I tried to unravel the unreliable Emma, and the curious Jane. The characters were fascinating and the story kept us intrigued to the end. The only hole in the plot was that Jane was given 5 days to leave the house and 25 weeks later she was still there...
