My eyes were opened
When looking for Lent readings, the last place a Baptist, Evangelical lay preacher would expect to find would be in a Roman Catholic series.
I took a leap of faith and was not disappointed. This very reflective book takes the words of Jesus in the build up to the crucifixion and gets the reader to apply the text in their own daily life.
During lent I fasted my normal daily bible readings and followed John Paul Thomas’ insight of scripture I was surprised when, even though I was reading very familiar verses, my eyes were opened, my heart softened and my spirit lifted.
I would highly recommend this book.
