Casey Singer likes to be in control, and she’s had plenty of experience with it. Twenty years serving in the Army has taught her to always be on guard, looking out for her own safety and the safety of everyone else. She knows all too well what it’s like to be responsible for someone else’s survival. The only thing is, she’s not in a war zone anymore.

Casey is out of the army and back to her old life…but she doesn’t know what to do next. Her marriage is over and her parents are pushing her into business with her brother, but is that what she really wants? The decision is weighing her down.

So when she runs into Zach, an old friend of the family who has grown up from a scrawny boy to a seriously hot man, he provides a welcome distraction. It doesn’t hurt that Zach is a former veteran himself, someone who might be able to understand her. 

But Zach comes with complications of his own. Casey soon discovers that Zach is full of passion and so satisfying, but it comes at a price.
