I was given an ATC copy of this book for an honest review and I must say I truly fell in love with the two main characters Alex and Mae.

Alex was a small town boy that was in love with his best friend Mae but she was totally oblivious to it and only saw him as her best friend. So when he was old enough he left the small town and his best friend/love of his life behind to make it big in New York. Make it big he does, he returns for his mothers birthday party a Billionaire.

Mae is attending the party but is in a bit of a mess as she has just found out her fiancé has been cheating on her for the last 2 years and has left him but no one knows and she doesn't understand her emotions as she's not particularly torn up about it. Of course some busy body at the party notices she isn't wearing her engagement ring and pandemonium erupts. Mae makes a quick exit but she is not alone, Alex has followed her.

They get drunk, Mae really badly, and end up sleeping in the same bed for the night. Much to Mae's relief nothing happened but the gossips have been out in force and she can't handle it. Alex offers her to come and stay with him for a while until the gossip dies down.

Mae accepts but does Alex have an ulterior motive to get her alone and on his own turf?

You will have to read the book to find out. But I can tell you that you won't be disappointed with this read, I certainly wasn't.
