Hauntingly good

This book was so dark and gripping I was engaged throughout. I really enjoyed the way it was written and that it maintained the same perspective throughout. Not once did I find it slow, I constantly wanted to find out what happened next. I definitely recommend this book.

Well written and gripping

Great easy read not too graphic despite the core of the story being child abuse.

A fantastic read! I couldn’t stop till the book did.. still reeling, heartbreaking and thrilling all at the same time, couldn’t get back to work till it was over. Thank you.

Brilliant book

Loved it from start to finish and didn’t want to put it down. Fascinatingly different and so refreshing not to have yet another repeated plot line with just names and places changed. Can’t wait to read more by this author.

Creepy & Sinister!

A brilliant physiological thriller written in first person mode from the point of view of a young girl.
I read it in three days, despite being very busy! An awesome read.

An Additional Thought

The fact that the author’s fantastic book is in other languages other than English, all telling the terrible story of eternal pain. Fantastic. You will go far.

Started well, became repetitive and predictable

I hate it when I choose a booked based on the next big thing. In this case, 'The next Girl on the Train'. This book had huge potential, daughter of a serial killer mother and how she would handle temporary adoption whilst she awaits her mothers trial date. As it it went on the talking in her head to her mother became repetitive, predictable and boring. She was no way near the psycho the reader wanted her to be and the characters and story really lacked depth. The ending seems to have been rushed and I'm surprised it ended where it did.

Over hyped

This had so many posts on social media claiming it to be the 2017 answer to " girl on the train " that I had to read it when it became available. Have to say was somewhat underwhelmed. Non of the characters are likeable in any way and it does seem to drag on endlessly at times. The " twist " at the end was not a surprise and the booked all wrapped up in the last few pages. I really wanted to love it but I didn't which was a real shame.
