Description

Based on the available information and the data hitherto collected, my hypothesis is that the further I stay away from love, the better off I will be.
'Contemporary romance's unicorn: the elusive marriage of deeply brainy and delightfully escapist.' Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners
*
When a fake relationship between scientists meets the irresistible force of attraction, it throws one woman's carefully calculated theories on love into chaos.
As a third-year Ph.D. candidate, Olive Smith doesn't believe in lasting romantic relationships but her best friend does, and that's what got her into this situation. Convincing Anh that Olive on her way to a happily ever after was always going to be tough, scientists require proof. So, like any self-respecting woman, Olive panics and kisses the first man she sees.
That man is none other than Adam Carlsen, a young hotshot professor and well-known ass. Which is why Olive is positively floored when he agrees to keep her charade a secret and be her fake boyfriend. But when a big science conference goes haywire and Adam surprises her again with his unyielding support (and his unyielding abs), their little experiment feels dangerously close to combustion.
Olive soon discovers that the only thing more complicated than a hypothesis on love is putting her own heart under the microscope.

As an ex-academic scientist who took the unsavoury route into industry, this book was right up my street. Hilarious and accurate in so many ways (although no gorgeous muscled professors in my old department - boo!), I read it in one sitting. Love, love, loved it!

Read it in less than a day. Completely addictive. Couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Perfect mix of slow burn and enemies to lovers and all those lovely tropes - but not as cliche as I’ve seen elsewhere. And talk about steamy! When the hotel room had two beds I thought all hope was lost but I was oh so glad to be wrong. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Loved this

I loved this book. The characters were great and treated each other well. The heroine was very relatable, she had her quirks but was still written as a completely believable character. Best of all it had very current themes and was responsible. I have lost count of the number of romance novels I have read with questionable male leads and I’m glad this wasn’t one of them.

Addicting book!

Read this book in under three days, soon as I started it I was hooked! Not into science at all but every detail was fascinating and made me appreciate the sciences and the scientists themselves, a lot more. The characters were great! Loved our main characters and their best friends, I found they could be quite relatable and so funny! Would love to continue their journey but found the ending was pretty perfect anyway ❤️

Loved it!

From the start, I got hooked into the story right away. Even though I know nothing about science, I appreciated every little information and detail that was put into this book! I found myself liking Olive as a character more and more through each chapter. One thing though, I wished that I could read more scenes involving Olive and Adam as a ‘real’ couple after they confessed to each other to set a perfect ending.
