The purpose of this manual is to explore the basic workings of gas turbine engines, and to help to prepare you to safely and efficiently operate aircraft powered by turbine engines. Finally, and quite reasonably, this text is designed to help you to prepare for the New Zealand CAA syllabus as assessed by ASPEQ for the Gas Turbine Knowledge examination. That said, the best preparation you can get is to attend an approved ground course.
