Very disappointing
A ridiculous story, full of twists and incidents which, unless you think Elvis lives on the moon, are impossible to believe. To be brief, just a few examples. These are two ex special agents, highly intelligent and highly skilled. All the way through the story they are followed everywhere but never realise it. Although they know the killer is always one step ahead as if he hears everything they say, it’s only near the end of the story that Sean twigs they are being bugged. A car chase is so impossible you can only laugh. Sean alone is credited with, it must be said, having a super human brain solving intricate clues while all the other intelligent people gasp in amazement. A small middle class town in the national spotlight because of its highly publicized string of gruesome murders, yet people are still not switching on their security systems or drawing the curtains fully when they undress and go to bed.
I thought of myself as a Baldacci fan, but this book is almost like a spoof.
