Description

Bolt the doors, turn on the lights and pray for mercy - you'll be up all night with this disturbingly addictive novel - perfect for fans of Karen Rose.
It's the ultimate game.
To win, you have to kill.
To lose, you have to die.
If he's chosen you to play, then it's Game Over…
A brutal serial killer is on the loose. Each victim is a former beauty queen, a single rose placed next to their mutilated bodies.
The scenes of unimaginable carnage have become familiar to Detective Lindsay McAllister. For the last 5 years, dozens of beautiful women have been slain and lives have been shattered, including Judd Walker whose wife was one of the first victims.
But when the killer strikes again Lindsey knows she needs Judd's help. The murderer is getting bolder, faster, and more ruthless. The game has escalated, the rules have changed, the body count is rising…and no one is safe.

Boring

This might be the the most boring book I have ever attempted to read, apart from a text book. I persevered until somewhere around 850 pages, then gave up. I just couldn't bear it any longer.
It is full of dull dialogue and repetitive, unnecessary detail.
Another point, I would imagine that after four years and thirty odd beauty queen murders, even the most trusting of the remaining possible victims would begin to take a little extra care over their personal safety. Just a thought!

An excellent crime thriller. The story has you absorbed to the end, I expected a different ending, but a very good read.

Superb

I'm not a reader, in fact this is the second full book I've read since school (8 years or so). The Dying Game happened to be free a couple of months ago so I thought I'd give it a go for a change.
Once I started reading I could not put it down. So gripping, intriguing and superbly written. I've never been so deep into a book, I'm usually a film man so this made a change.
Now that I've read this I will definitely be buying the rest of the series (Griffin Powell/Powell Agency) and can't wait to start The Murder Game which is the next book, before going back and reading the previous two.
Easily 5/5!
