Description

'Lee Child continues his meteoric rise and mastery of suspense with Tripwire. It's a tightly-drawn and swift thriller that gives new meaning to what a page-turner should be.' Michael Connelly
For Jack Reacher being invisible has become a habit.
He spends his days digging swimming pools by hand and his nights as the bouncer in the local strip club in the Florida Keys.
He doesn't want to be found.
But someone has sent a private detective to seek him out. Then Reacher finds the guy beaten to death with his fingertips sliced off. It's time to head north and work out who is trying to find him and why.
Although the Jack Reacher novels can be read in any order, Tripwire is 3rd in the series.

Really wanted to read this however there is an issue with the layout and format of the book. Paragraphs are not separated correctly as they should be making it nearly impossible to read, Apple please sort this out soon

Clearly an unedited OCR rendition. No spaces between paragraphs/scenes and often words are misspelt in a manner suspiciously similar to automatic optical character recognition.
Appalling and depressing lack of care and attention. E-publishing deserves better.
The book itself is alright, everybody but Reacher is a paper cut-out, there is a pantomime villain and an obvious twist, but overall suspenseful and excellent pulp action, with and exciting violent conclusion that is masterfully written in the better bits.

After getting through the laborious descriptions of every detailed thought and new surrounding there wasn't much plot. Bored me most of the time.

Let me explain the four stars. They're not for literature. They're for Reacher fans. Emotionally, this one is a five. Lee Child's loner hero can take pain, dish it out and triumph in all forms of combat. But here Child demonstrates he's more than being a master of blood, grit and action; he can pack an emotional punch that chokes the throat. It could have been a five but sometimes Child irritates with his fussy, stylised descriptions, like a satellite navigation system that floods you with too much detail - leaving you unable to see the road for counting the kerbstones. His editor should have been as fearless as Reacher; he should have chopped some of it out even if Child got heavy because this is the only Jack Reacher I've read where detail got in the way of parts of the story. Loved the story. If I were a serving soldier this one would make me proud.

Good story as ever with Lee child!
But the formatting make it hard to read! There is no separation between the scenes!
