Absolutely wonderful
It's taken me around three months to finish this book and, though long, it was definitely worth the read. Each new chapter of the four novels, and each new short story brought a new adventure, which provided a very much appreciated respite from exam revision! Having read a few Holmes stories before, I thought I knew what I was getting into, but something I really didn't expect was the humour. That's right, classical literature can be funny too! This book frequently has me giggling out loud, much to the exasperation of my mother, and actually shrieking on one memorable occasion.
A minor downside to this wonderful edition is that it does not contain any of the original illustrations which furnished the works, and there are a few spelling mistakes which I found a little irritating. Nonetheless, considering the price (nonexistent) this is a very very good purchase, and one that I would happily recommend to anyone. If you're not a fan of long books then fear not, for this book largely consists of many separate unrelated short stories, which took me around half an hour each to read. Also, this iBook doesn't contain "The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes", another collection of short stories - one that I am looking forward to purchasing separately and devouring with pleasure. Happy deducing!
