Description

The old radio at the station had poured out haunting images of a dying world from the first day. Through it, the tiny group hunkered down at the Village of Portsmouth, bore witness to the death of millions. Where the sickness left off, storms and brutal emotions took over. Some fought. Some starved. Others simply disappeared.
Storms ravaged the power grids. Relief efforts died before they ever started. Entire countries collapsed.
Like the rest of the world, the people stranded on Portsmouth Island could only wait and hope. When it came, the disease struck hard, killing one and sending another into a violent rage.
Hounded by an evil he didn't understand, William Hill struggled to survive.
The evil had other plans. It wanted his blood.
This time, it had a face. This time, it offered a deal

A good read

I don't normally read horror stories but i found these books to be a great read. I read the first two as they were free ,but i had to purchase the remaining books just so i knew just what happened in the end. I certainly will be buying the stone.

The island

I read the whole series in two days, that will tell you how compelling these books were. Brilliant, written well, if there has to be a criticism it would be for me a little excessive on the descriptive text, otherwise would seriously recommend, superb.

Thrills & chills (spoilers)

I loved the island books..the story line kept me engaged whilst it constantly evolved. I was searching for a good zombie read when I stumbled across this author. I got much more than a zombie book.. I was surprised that the author could combine, religion, paranormal, (wow poor little Daniel gave me the creeps big time) illness, humanity at its worst and then through in some demons and monsters from fairy tales that were twisted into something beyond horrifying! Made the zombie side of it feeble! On the flip side The beautiful description of the island has put it in my bucket list of places to visit. The friendships that formed especially between Elsie and The lead William were heart warming. Michael Stark thank you for the story. I am very Looking forward to your next one.

Got the 1st free, based on reviews, then collected the rest, including Parts 4 & 5 which were only 99p each. I can not wait for The Rock to come out. Enthralling story - stayed up till the early hours reading it! Well done!

The island

Enjoyed all the books and read them in sequence over a few days. Excellent style with enough scene setting to put you there with them without giving you the urge to flick through. Will be looking out for the next. Makes a lovely change not to have to feel guilty for the cost of a series of books. Thank you ; )
