Description

1945. The vote in the House of Lords as to who should inherit the Barrington family fortune has ended in a tie. The Lord Chancellor's deciding vote will cast a long shadow on the lives of Harry Clifton and Giles Barrington.
Harry returns to America to promote his latest novel, while his beloved Emma goes in search of the little girl who was found abandoned in her father's office on the night he was killed.
When the General Election is called, Giles Barrington has to defend his seat in the House of Commons and is horrified to discover who the Conservatives select to stand against him. But it is Sebastian Clifton, Harry and Emma's son, who ultimately influences his uncle's fate.
In 1957, Sebastian wins a scholarship to Cambridge, and a new generation of the Clifton family march onto the page. After Sebastian is expelled from school, he unwittingly becomes caught up in an international art fraud involving a Rodin statue that is worth far more than the sum it raises at auction. Does he become a millionaire? Does he go to Cambridge? Is his life in danger?
Best Kept Secret, the third book in Jeffrey Archer's gripping family saga The Clifton Chronicles, will answer all these questions, but once again, pose so many more.

A great holiday read

A bit far fetched at times, but an entertaining and easy reading book to lose yourself in on holiday.

Third book.... Best kept secret...

Wow, another cliffhanger... I won't tell but this book is as exciting and gripping as the first two in this series. The saga goes on into a fourth book, "Be careful what you wish for".. Definately can't wait to purchase this next book...

Be careful what you wish for

Really not that good, very corny. I only read it because the previous book didn't end until the beginning of this one and this one doesn't have an ending either. It's a really cheap shot by Archer to get you to buy the next in the series, but I'm not going to be conned again.

Best Kept Secret

I also feel cheated.
The feeble excuse the author gives for extending the series to more volumes is a load of you know what!
I don’t blame him for making the most of a very good storyline.
Just a couple of ridiculous events.
I for one will not be reading anymore of the series, I like to choose myself, not deliberately forced by the author.

Archer at his best

What a cliff hanger this is. Can't wait till March 2014 to see what happens next in this fantastic series

I feel cheated

Enjoyed reading this book and loved the first two of this trilogy, but this book had a lousy ending. I feel cheated by being left up in the air.

Furious

I bought this book via iTunes @ £12.99. Would have been cheaper in hard copy
This is the third in a trilogy and I couldn't wait to read it. Haven't really been able to put it down and really looking forward to the outcome - there isn't one! Just left me hanging - disgraceful!
