Dionysius the Areopagite (circa 1st century A.D.) , was the first Bishop of Athens.  His purported works, including On Divine Names, are believed to have been misattributed, and are generally thought to be authored by  a 5th or 6th century theologian called Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite.
