About the author
John Bishop was born in Liverpool and grew up in Winsford and Runcorn, Cheshire.
In 2006, approaching his 40th birthday, John left his job to pursue a career in comedy. Within three years he was playing to sell-out arenas and had released the fastest-selling debut DVD in history. Now a household name and one of the biggest stars in comedy, John has just completed his third nationwide arena tour.
John lives with his wife and three sons in Cheshire and his hobbies include his dog Bilko and supporting Liverpool, but not always in that order.

Would recommend, interesting life story
A good story, very inspirational. But sometimes very disjointed in its telling. Does tend to warble off on a tangent. All interesting stories but does leave wondering what went when in this story? Would recommend

Brilliant!!
This book is so inspiring it had made me laugh cry and feel valued as a mum. I read this book whilst recovering from a broken arm and it has inspired me and cheered me up.

Great read
I was born in 1967 and from south London and grew up on the council estates and must admit they where the best times of my life, my dad had a moskivich and we also sat on cushions in the back of vans ! But love the honesty and connect with all written even if from a different part of the country, great read and so much in common ( I'm not as funny ) but growing up in the 70s, and as John writes he also reminds us from where we are from and if successful in life in anyway remember that ! as this man does , with a grinning pair of white knashers !

How did all this happen?
I have just finished this book after starting it yesterday! Which should in its self tell you that I could not put it down, it was so refreshing to hear in his own words the good, the bad,and at times the downright heartwarming honesty of a really nice guy who seems to realise the only love that is important is family

What a really nice, down to earth fella John Bishop is!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and reading it was like listening to a friend talking. I can't praise this book enough.
How did this all happen? I'm just really glad it did.
Wish I could write more but my keyboard on my iPad is now blocking my view so can't see what I' writing!
