Description

After years in Boston and a year of working for herself as a contract consultant and adjunct professor, unemployed Dr. Anne Conner is ready to return home to work in her field as a marine biochemist and research scientist. With money running low, Anne jumps at the chance to interview for her dream job as a research scientist with the world famous Stanford Enterprises research company.
When she makes the final round of interviews, Anne decides to combine her time in Seattle interviewing with a vacation trip to her family's inn on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands. The last thing she expected was to run into her childhood friend and object of her teenage dreams, Ben Carlson, who is on the island for his sister's wedding. Nor did she plan on the passion that erupts between them. Is their relationship only a vacation romance as they agreed from the beginning or will it turn into something more when Anne moves back to Seattle?
Just as Anne begins to hope for more, the unthinkable is revealed. Ben is none other than her new boss. Worse yet, he thinks that she only used him to get the job.

Excellent read

Can’t believe I was hooked from start to end. Although the story was good, it was beautifully written that will hooked you until you see what will happened next. Attention to details make the story quite long but nevertheless, it was a very good read. Can’t wait to read more from this author. Thank you

Delightful but...

Such long winded descriptions that I was ready to tear my hair out ! I certainly have never been to Seattle yet I'm sure I would have grasped the plot if the writer hadn't written about the names of the highways and the exits! The story is good and the characters were good but I was skipping paragraphs and skimming through the pages to get to the actual story !

The job offer

Unnecessarily long winded. Describing what everyone was wearing on a daily basis? Really? Would be better shortened.

Rushed

I was really getting into this book but thought the ending was rushed. It could've been a great book.

Good read

I have to say, the first 2-3 chapters are very long and boring. Too much detail in my opinion. But I stayed with it, and glad that I did. So don't give up on it. It's the only reason I took a star off it. Maybe a little less descriptive detail about surroundings etc, but a great contemporary romance story.

Loved It-

Really loved this book! Read it in a day and was very sad when it ended!! Immediately went to search for more books by this author!!! Look forward to hopefully a lot more in future!!! The plot, the romantic bits, and everything in between had me skip household duties and probably a fair bit of work to get it finished!!

Nice story

I really liked this book, there is some unnecessary detail that I found myself skipping. The story is nice though and would recommend it for a lazy Sunday.

Proof read...?

Easy to read, I skipped whole chapters of just 'writing', and didnt miss anything story wise...Too much content for a fairly simple plot. Well written in parts but definitely too wordy. Too many grammatical errors. Bit more attention to the plot and less details about non plot related stuff would have made this book much better and easier to read
