Description

Love him or loathe him, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson is an icon and one of the most fascinating sporting figures of our time. In this no-holds-barred autobiography, Tyson lays bare his demons and tells his story: from poverty to stardom to hell and back again
In this, his first, autobiography, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson pulls no punches and lays bare the story of his remarkable life and career. Co-written with Larry Sloman, author of Antony Keidis’s best-selling memoir ‘Scar Tissue’, this is a visceral, and unputdown-able story of a man born and raised to brutality, who reached the heights of stardom before falling to crime, substance abuse and infamy.
Full of all the controversy and complexity that you would expect from a man who delighted as much as he shocked, this is a book that will surprise people and reveal a fascinating character beneath the exterior of violence.
If you think you know all about Mike Tyson, read this book and think again.

About the author
Mike Tyson is a former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles at 20 years, 4 months and 22 days old. Wow! And wow again. Be prepared for the expected and unexpected. The most open, honest self write to date, with a no holds barred approach, you become immersed in Tyson in addition to the several other sides to his personality, his journey from a hard knock childhood, being Champion of the world to his slow and unfortunate demise. Each of these milestones are expansive and haven't been rushed to a close. You get a feeling that Mike has really dug deep and hasn't left not one stone unturned. With this feeling you get a sense of true honesty from his narrative. Some may say the truth is ugly but it's the truth in this case that brings us even closer to the once feared 'Baddest man on the planet'

Brilliant.

This is the best book I've ever read.
I'm a slow reader and it took me a couple of weeks to get through. But whenever I was feeling depressed about something minor, I read another chapter of Mike's life and it made me realise... yeah, my problems aren't so real after all.
This is a unflinching and at times uncomfortable account of the life of one of the most magnetising personalities on planet earth.
