A life like no other. He embarked on an extraordinary life of international development where he navigated diplomatic and political landscapes filled with bureaucracy, corruption and danger, which earned him an OBE. He’s been set upon by drug-crazed boy soldiers in Uganda, wrestled Somali carjackers, lost his sight in Egypt, and defied the Taliban to bring education to girls in Pakistan, where his uncompromising stand against corruption saw him being given 24 hours to get out of the country.
