Description

**THE TRUE STORY BEHIND THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED BBC DRAMA ‘THREE GIRLS’ **
What do they find attractive about me? An underage girl who just lies there, sobbing, looking up at them...as they come to me one by one.
This is the shocking true story of how a young girl from Rochdale came to be Girl A – the key witness in the trial of Britain’s most notorious child sex ring.
Girl A was just 14 when she was groomed by a group of nine Asian men. After being lured into their circle with free gifts, she was plied with alcohol and systematically abused. She was just one of up to fifty girls to be 'passed around' by the gang. The girls were all under-16 and forced to have sex with as many as twenty men in one night.
When details emerged a nation was outraged and asked how these sickening events came to pass. And now, the girl at the very centre of the storm reveals the heartbreaking truth.

Compelling Read

This is an astonishing story of someone so young being groomed & exploited by devious characters. This story is what happens when poverty & boredom draws you to looking for “freebies” but there is a price to pay. Lessons learned by the CPS ,Police & Social Services for the better.

Harrowing but Important

Whilst this is clearly, given the subject matter, a very harrowing read I believe that Girl A deserves as many people as possible to read her story. To acknowledge what happened, to believe in her and if it helps to save one young life from experiencing anything along those lines, then even better,

Eye opener

A difficult book to put a suitable title too given its content.
An excellent read, despite being about the horrific circumstances a young girl had to suffer.
Definitely a read to understand the true happenings of the scandal. Definitely an eye opener

Brutal

Honest and brutal account of how our system let down these girls for fear of believing these things could happen in this country and for fear of offending an ever growing community!
Girl A tells her story with such harrowing truth and bares all, making us all see and realise the horrors that await young children in this society! Hopefully the powers in charge actually see what they need to do to improve and stop this from happening again!

Heartbreaking

I had read a book a few years ago which was another girls story on this subject and this one is just a horrific. Hannah should be proud that she has survived this. There is also a 3 part drama called 'three girls' which features some of Hannah's story. It's just unbelievable that this could happen and that the police and social services stood by and let this happen. I hope you find the happiness you deserve Hannah.

Girl A

This story is told so well. It really does illustrate the horrendous behaviour of those men. It's hard to imagine they still operate and will be getting away with the abuse.
God bless all the victims.
Well done to Girl A for your strength and determination to keep going and I wish you all the best.

What a read!!!

This book had me hooked, I almost cried for "Hannah" when these men or should I say animals were brought to justice. It's almost scary when a system that is put in place to protect people, fails them so horrifically. A real eye opener.

Couldn't put it down...

Couldn't put this down! Read it in just two days. This book may not be for everybody but I enjoyed it and it really touched me. I am from the area mentioned and am a similar age to her so it hit me like a tonne of bricks. Hope she finds happiness for her and her little girl. Very good read.

Girl A

Brilliant book, telling the harrowing tale of a girl failed by police and social services, before eventually gaining justice for the abuse she and others suffered at the hands of these twisted and sick paedophiles. Well done to her for having the strength to see it through to its conclusion. I hope she can eventually put behind her the events of those painful years.

Couldn't put it down

I started to read the book less than 24 hours ago and couldn't put it down. Insightful and makes you realise the faults in our society for not listening to a child when she quite clearly needed help. What a strong courageous girl to face her abusers and bring them to justice eventually. I hope that girl a, and the others that were abused manage to find inner peace and live peaceful lives. Touching story.

Working with young girls

This is a must for anyone working with young people, especially girls, who it is believed to be at risk of exploitation. This gives a very good insight into what they could have or what they are going through and the things to look out for in order to put an end to this crime !!!

Outstanding & Heartbreaking

Absolutely outstanding. Heartbreaking and overwhelming at times. I found this book to be an incredible but often uncomfortable read. I just hope that these young women are now able to move on from this and live the exciting lives that they are due.

Brave

Horrific to think someone could be out through that much abuse & trauma, be let down by almost everyone and continue to fight. Such a brave thing to stand up like this. It's a real eye opener to the world we live in today

Eye opener

Whislt reading this I cried and had to stop so many times as I found myself getting angry at all the people who let Hannah down. I think the worst part is that this is still happening. I cannot believe what Hannah has had to endure in her 19yrs of life all because of disgusting perverted men. She is a brave girl and should be proud how she brough these evil men to justice. I really hope she can find happiness in her life because she deserves it. x

Girl a

Great book I really feel this is a major reason I want to become a social worker so I can help people like you and not do a half hearted job , the way you were treated was appalling and if there were more people out there who wanted to do their jobs not just receive a pay packet and brush things under the carpet the world may be a better place and people would get the support and help they needed

Couldn't stop reading

This book isn't for everybody but I found it to be a good read. A touching and shocking true story about a girl's life experiences in Manchester, England. If she is reading this I would just like to let her know my thoughts are with her and I hope she is now able to move on and live the life she deserves.
