Gabriel leads the four newly graduated knights guarding The Lady Bony Ass and her unborn baby as they cross the Purple Plain to safety. They think their clandestine exit from Trinity has gone unobserved.

They are wrong. An army of bandits and drunks are in hot pursuit, determined to claim some of the ransom the daughter and granddaughter of The Magnus Caseus will fetch.

Four young knights, an old Guardian and an angry princess against a horde of brigands is bad, very bad.

But Lucid, the son of Satan, has now taken an interest. And things are going to get very, very ugly.
