the app is extremely unstable, the app would often freeze when exiting shorts and closing a video player, sometimes the app just dies and hangs. and the like count is also broken and only displays up to 577 likes. about the terrible choices made within the platform: removing the dislike button is a bad idea, and removing ad blockers are even worse. premium is a terrible deal as always. i could honestly give this a lower rating if not for the fact that i still have little hope for the platform to get better, however that hope is slowly fading away with youtube’s recent actions and decisions.

Before the new fast-fowarding update a few days ago, the double tap function worked perfectly fine, but then after the update, it started having errors. It wouldn’t skip even after I tapped the screen twice in a row, it only reacted after 3 taps, but then sometimes it switches back to 2 taps and its very inconsistent and annoying. Please fix this quickly or I might stop using yt altogether. (I am serious, this really frustrates me) I am on an Iphone X btw

While playing a video; it will jump and play another video on touches of suggested video. This is awful experience as it should prompt whether to jump to another video instead of a sharp cut and jump to another.
The suggested videos keep playing videos that already have been watched ; and the auto play videos keep playback on channels that is blocked and rated poor.

Today I tried to subscribe on my apple app store the family premium with the offer of a one month free trial. But it seemed it didn’t work as i still saw ads and cannot download. Seems the function to search something by view count is working differently all of a sudden. It no longer returns you the result in order of view counts (highest to lowest). Instead, I’m suspecting it returns you what is recently more popular, together with some videos that does not relate to your key word search but relates more to what you’ve been watching. Also, seems the Shorts are taking up a larger part of the screen (I’m viewing from mobile app) than before which I find rather annoying.

I wish when I hide an ad in my recommendation, I wish I can give ‘phobia’ as a reason. There’s a phone game about ants lately, and I’m incredibly scared of insects(lame fear I know). Whenever I watch a video about video games, a good chance this ad pops up in video form. As you know, you can’t hide video ads, and you have to watch at least 6 seconds of it. I can’t close the ad without glancing at the screen and I’m terrified. The same goes to the recommendations too, I like watching reptiles, but insects videos were recommended to me afterwards, I have no choice but to remove my watch history. I wish that there is a function for me to filter out what kind of content I don’t want to see, I am desperately looking forward to end of the contract with that ant game. (I understand that there’s nothing wrong with the game, it’s just my fear)

No real advice on how to match account countries across family members for premium. Absolutely horrible "help" section. Can't reach a person to talk to. An utter waste of money and not worth the hassle of doing everything perfectly on their terms. When mirroring with hdmi adaptor with iPad Pro, the iPad screen will keep playing the same image as the TV and do not go full screen on TV; however, with the previous version of iPad, it will go full screen on the TV and change to control mode on the iPad. Please fix this.
Can’t see preview screen when share the video

After the last update, when I share video with friends via WhatsApp , the preview screen cannot be shown in the share msg but only a link shared. This is not good as can’t we can’t show video title!!! Appreciate to fix it ASAP !!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

The aspect ratio seems slightly too long, the bottom row of icons overlap with the home bar which can be really annoying, and the top portion of the video is blocked by the notch when watching in vertical mode

You will loose viewers eventually if you keep censoring conservative media. You should NOT be the arbiter who decides what we can or cannot see. Don’t be so arrogant to think you cannot be replaced. Just remember you replaced a lot of the old media and you will also be replaced if you do not respect your viewers.

On iPad I found it’s hard to click the ... button to pop up the menu for me to choose, say, add to watch later. But on iPhone I can press on a video for a while and then it would pop up the menu, and no need to click the ... menu. But on iPad, pressing on a video for a few seconds won’t pop up the menu. Please fix it to make it work consistently. Thanks.

First of all, I always get an advertisement every 5 minutes when I’m watching a video.
Secondly, the controls for video playback are messed up. They are currently very inconvenient as whenever I try to forward a video by sliding right on the bottom bar, the app plays the previous video for me. The same goes with back-warding a video.
Lastly, stop showing recommended videos at the bottom of the screen when I’m watching a video in full screen mode. They show up whenever I tap my screen once and it’s hindering my ability for controlling video playback.
My suggestion is to remove the function for sliding right on the screen to skip to the next video because I find that the skipping button can already do the job. Hope you get my message.

So this is a big problem, so a lot of video have been disabled to comment, I was helping or trying to help my friend to make your videos able to have comments but nothing work, if you were able to fix this problem, your app will be completely perfect, please reply the solution.

The video is good and easy to use. Just a minor suggestion: 1/ can the history show the date so I can search the viewed video quicker. 2/ It would be better to have the disinterest video list record and can allow to remove the disinterest when we change our mind! Thanks!
Annoying bugs otherwise a great experience

Of all the iPhones and iPads I have which are updated to the latest iOS, these bugs seem to never fade away:
1. When in split view mode, the video automatically becomes full screen without me touching anything, so it can randomly happen when I’m watching a video or reading a comment. It makes scrolling down impossible.
2. After rotating the video from portrait to landscape and otherwise, sometimes the app becomes unresponsive to touch. For example, I am unable to minimise the video that I’m watching and sometimes I can’t even scroll down to the comment section.
Please fix it’s been almost 5 months!

There’s one feature really annoys me. That when i pause during a video the video turns dark and when i play again i’ll have to wait a few seconds for it to get bright again and i’ll miss those few seconds of the video. Of course i know i can click somewhere to make it bright quicker but phone screen is small i end up accidentally click on some other buttons. Can you please fix this? It is too annoying. Many thanks

Thank god the volume bar overlay is finally gone (again). It was such horrible experience, would never know why it was removed, brought back, and removed again, but I’m not complaining. Not this time.

When I clicked on a video or home stuff like that it will loads and says ‘Error while loading tap to retry’ and for me that will only happens when I have no WiFi but I have WiFi and it won’t let me see the videos! It will still say the same thing please fix it because it’s driving me crazy!

When I click the upload button, it must get back to home screen and close itself automatically. I try restart and upload again, the problem is still get back to home screen again. I hope that problem will be solved as soon as possible. Thank you.

In the home page, when you press one video for a longer time it used to show a bar of options abt "adding to watch ltr, not interested in the video etc." But now the latest version cannot show this up because when i do the same thing, the video thumbnail can be dragged all over the page but i absolutely dont understand the purpose of that and that thing is completely useless. Hope you can fix this thanks!

Hopefully it’s a bug from the app, but I can’t seem to tap on the videos on the home feed, but I can scroll through it though... I can select videos from the other tabs but just not the home feed... 😕

It’s been for a long while, almost a month that all videos lagged before they actually played. No matter how I uninstall and reinstall this app. The problem is still here. I’ve never made comments on apps review BUT this time I really need to do it.
PLEASE FIX IT.
