I have always been interested in history , especially Indian history! Reading is sometimes boring , hence I decided to hear the podcasts and I chose this one. I am absolutely surprised on how knowledgeable he is is and the way he tells stories of history , it’s very engaging and entertaining! I am so inspired and impressed by him. Thanks much and keep going!

I stumbled upon this podcast by chance and got hooked on to it immediately. I respect and love that the narrator tells us how dependable/ credible the source is for each of the pieces of information he gives. You know right away that he’s trying to be as unbiased and as true to the story as is possible. He tries his best to get the pronunciations right but sometimes fails. That is understandable considering he is not an Indian by birth. But if you can get beyond this minor aberration, you’ll find yourself on a great historical journey through these podcasts. Highly recommended.

This podcast is so beautifully structured that one can actually create a visual map of the geography and the events of that time.
I got hooked onto this podcast in the very first minute of the first episode.
There are a lot of people pointing out the pronunciation for the Hindi/Sanskrit words; the pronunciation rather makes me research and in turn, retain the information from the podcast.
It was hilarious how the narrator called पाणिनि ‘Panini’. With just a little effort in googling the keywords, you have at your behest the greatest stories of Ancient India.
I highly recommend this podcast; such an amazing team behind this.

The stories are all that matter.

This is what could be called the labor of love. It is one and it feels like one.
Keep up the good work.
As for the pronunciation part, it is pathetic at places, especially when the word in question acquires a different avatar of its own. But the story makes it all worth it!!

You’ve really worked hard for this podcast. It’s awesome, yet like everyone’s saying - “Hindi and Sanskrit Pronunciation is a bit awkward”. I know it’s really tough for non-natives to speak Pure Hindi. Never mind. Good Job! ))))

This podcast made me truly enjoy ancient history, a subject I had always considered to be dead and obsolete. The narration is brilliant and the content extremely relevant. It gives you the experience of journeying through the past and brings ancient India to life, replete with its passionate people and rich culture! Kudos to the tabla maestro. Those musical interludes are surreal!

Perfect!

Kirk Patricks' "History of India Podcast' bring the product of a Philosopher, makes it so attractive, made me to hear it repeatedly. He presents it analytically, scientifically, even as he presents the myths. Overall I rate it 5/5'

Awesome work bro. Don't mind pronunciation Nazis

I love to hear this podcast. I had to pay extra attention when you pronounce some Hindi/Sanskrit words but I can get the meaning and that's what matters. Your energy and enthusiasm makes it great to hear. 😊

This is the best podcast I have ever heard. Kit explains eveything in spectacular clarity. He also adds bits of humour in between which makes it even more interesting. The podcasts are helping me to undestand ancient India better. Thank you Kit. You are doing a great job.

Extremely well researched with a balanced presentation.

I’ve been following this podcast for a while now and use it for my ancient history preparation for the civil service examination. The choice of using Pataliputra as an anchor for the narrative is brilliant and makes it easy to locate oneself in the history of a vast and ancient civilisation. Many thanks!

Its great!

I like this podcast. The narrator has great enthusiasm. Also @people getting worked up over accents and pronounciations: one should overlook such trivialities because us Indians also make mistakes about other Indian cultures.
Also in history all that matters is the central idea. Hence I like this podcast!

Podcast of beauty is a joy forever!

I like it. The viewpoint is refreshing and some of his dry critique is very amusing. Find most of his observations/talk in line with my own observations and thoughts on this fascinating, confusing and extremely vast (both by geography and by time) topic of Indian history.

Fun and informative

Yes the narrator has a British accent that takes some getting used to, but once you get past that, he's a great storyteller and throws in lots of colourful tidbits that makes the history come alive. This is the narrator's own initiative out of a clear love of Indian history, so Indian reviewers should stop complaining about the accent.

Pronunciation! 😔

This is a very balanced approach to Indian history, it is unstained by marxist obsession or right wing fantasies. The author makes boring aspects interesting with brilliant insights and stories. This podcast is true to Indian story telling tradition.
