Enjoyable game to keep the mind active, however the amount of adverts spoil it and without these, or perhaps less this game would be perfect.
When I had the older version there were far less adverts. Since I upgraded my phone this change has been disappointing, also there was no way to save my rewards or the levels completed.
I do recommend this game; just prepare to be patient 🤪

I love this game, it really really makes you think hard and long. So many word games are just too easy. My only complaint is that it’s very difficult to pile up the ‘hints' as they are quite expensive, being 120 and 180 stars. I end up having to watch endless adds or buy more hints, which I do occasionally, but this can become very expensive. Also think the apple collection a bit of a waste of time.

On level 2600 and still not at the end! Collection box a waste of time as it deliberately will not complete the final missing letter. Also the game is far too US- centric with some absurdly archaic words virtually no longer in use. Also some legitimate words seem to be regarded as not very appropriate ie. rape (it’s a plant… come on!).

I played this game at times I needed to chill and relax and over a year or so got to 870+. Today the game wouldn’t work so I decided to check for an update but in the App Store was only given the option to ‘open’ the game which it wouldn’t do. I decided to delete the app from my phone and re download it. When I downloaded it again the game went from having 2000+ levels to having 2500 levels and when I went in to play assuming it would carry on from where I left off I was flabbergasted to see I was starting back at level 1!! Needless to say I won’t be wasting any more of my precious downtime on such an unstable game 😡 Rubbish!!

I have played this game for years and enjoyed it but recently the number of ads and the number of times you have to go through the ads to get to the next level has increased to such and extent that it is about 5% game and 95% ads. The ads often stick so you can’t get back to the game. You often get stuck in loops of ads that won’t let you get back to the game. Getting very fed up and considering leaving the game as technical problems are making it unusable. Too bad.

Hi, I have been playing this game for a long time and have led a team. I find myself very confused that some players are able to carry their scores from one team to another and seem able to build up a score of more than 100,000 in a couple of days. How is this possible? I know that the game developers earn money from adverts but do they really need to last so long. With some it is impossible to end them, even after several minutes. This has become much worse as time passes. Unfortunately it is spoiling the game.

I would give this game five stars if it weren’t for the adverts. You have a choice either to watch ads to gain extra coins, or to pay for them. I have no objection to watching ads for products or services, but will not watch moronic ads like furnishing rooms, improving fashion sense, or, worst of all, my husband left me/cheated on me/didn’t like my clothes etc., I returned to my old home which just happened to be a mansion. Really!

I’m writing the same review again several years down the line. The game I keep trying to download is one where the words drop down and you have to find them as they do. The one that downloads is just a word search type thing that is boring. I still get adverts for the game I want to download while I’m playing but when I download it it’s still the boring game I’m playing because I keep thinking if I get passed a certain level I’ll find the game I want to play.....

Until I changed my phone recently, this was absolutely my favourite game. That was, up until I got a new iPhone.
Followed the instructions for getting my progress transferred to the new phone, but that when it all went wrong. I set up my new phone from my old one, but apparently this then gave the new installation the same ID number as the install on the old phone. Apparently, support cannot cope with having the same ID number!! Tried uninstalling/downloading from App Store (same ID number); deleted the app, logged out of my Apple account, switched off the old phone, logged back into the Apple ID, downloaded it again (nope, still giving me the same game ID number). Well, since then Support have gone dead, no response to any messages, so they obviously have no idea how to cope with Apple phones. Offered to give them the IMEA numbers of the two phones, and a screenshot of the current progress, and asked if they could manually set the new phone’s progress - nothing. So they expect me to just wipe out 200 levels of progress and 2,000 coins 😡😡😡😡. Not happy!!

I love this game, however there are many words used which I have never heard of and when you click on them to find their meaning, the game hasn’t heard of the words either! Quite frustrating. Another little annoyance is the HINT icon, it just won’t keep still and is very off putting! Other than these, it really is a great game and has improved my brain no end......although a long way to go yet!

There’s something uniquely better, a word game that doesn’t back you into a corner of having to buy clues, one that identifies your weaknesses and helps overcome them.
I’ve played almost 1,200 levels, earning over 30,000 golden apples and still enjoying this as a daily challenge

Several times get free coins does not work. I have checked my internet connection even though there is no error message. It just flashes back to green button. It goes in phases and even affects the daily free 50 coins.
The other problem is that an interrupted game does not always resume properly - very annoying on a daily challenge when just used some coins for a hint.

I’ve been addicted to this game for months in spite of some limitations - frequent long ads and rather eccentric decisions about what count as acceptable words. It’s a simple idea but other than those limitations it’s well designed and I’ve found it absorbing. But for the last few days it hasn’t been working properly and has now stopped working altogether. Hoping it will be restored!

If you like adverts, this is the game for you. Level start off way too easy. From level 1 to level 50 there is no change. It’s more a formality just to get through. Some levels take about 5 secs to do but then you watch a 30second advert. It’s a very frustrating game. Though the game itself is really good it’s just advert ridden. I know they need them but you should spend more of your time watching videos than playing the game itself!
If you want to pay to remove them, them I’m sure it’ll be a definite 4 star game. (Would never be 5 stars as your basically just finding words from anagrams and try that on a Saturday evening games night and see if it rates 5 stars).

Brilliant game to play. Relaxing and exciting at the same time. A bit addictive on the coin buying front though and I’m very disciplined but would be easy to end up paying out too much hard earned cash to get the hints when you get to the harder levels. More coins for your money would help.

And at £ 7.50 per week to not have ads it quickly becomes very expensive... Uninstalling and looking for something less intrusive or not so expensive. In fact, Apple Arcade may have something similar already for a monthly cost that is lower than this game charges for a single week, with no ads or in-game purchases so I will probably have a look at that as it also has a zillion other games that the whole family can use for much less money... The developers of this game are just too greedy, I get it that they need to be paid, but £390 / year to play a word game is a lot of money.

...the adverts are spammed way too often for me to be able to keep playing. I understand that advertising pays the bills and normally I am more than happy to put up with them but not to this extent. The game itself is a nice relaxing challenge but every 1 minute play or less is followed by 15- 30 seconds of advert It is just too much. If I didn’t want Lilly’s garden the first time it is spammed I won’t want it the next 200 times either so at least vary the ads a bit. Make it 1 advert every 5 minutes and maybe people won’t delete. As it stands this becomes monotonous. Bye bye Word collect.

I enjoyed this game when I could play it. It’s simple, fun and a fairly easy way to waste a bit of time. Unfortunately 30 minutes play consisted of 15 minutes of adverts and in game pop ups to buy, buy, buy. It’s impossible to get a good run on the levels as it’s a case of level, in game pop up to buy a money bank with real cash, advert, advert, level, repeat. Coins for hints are in limited supply but I have lots of useless golden apples. Yes you can spend money to remove ads but this is not cheap to do, not permanent and does not remove in game ads and pop ups. I have no objection to ads, the makers have to make a profit after all, and pop ups fine ,spend money if you want it’s your choice, but when ads and pop ups match the game play time this is just purely a money grabbing scheme and the game is spoiled. Also in 200 levels I have yet to see a game like the one advertised, so a little bit of marketing fraud as well as greed. Avoid this one.

The game is good but there are now ads between every game which last for at least 30 seconds. Now played 930+ games and have dismissed the Fishdom and Mahjong Solitaire apps hundreds of times. Even if you click on the cross in the corner, it still carries on, and sometimes even opens up the Apple Store to download. As much as I love it, if the ads don't stop, will HAVE to delete it to save my sanity!! Also if you want to play it, please note the words are spelt using American spelling, and it does not accept some perfectly good English words.
It needs an opt out for playing against other people.

I have nothing against competing against other people in games. In this one however, I don’t have time to play it enough to win against other people. I play the daily challenges, and I play the levels when I have a spare moment, that isn’t enough time when it appears I need to be able to play all the time to have a chance of winning against someone else. Otherwise it is a fun and challenging game.

I enjoy playing this- so much so that I decided to upgrade in order to avoid the ads.
However, as one reviewer already said, its frustrating that the app doesn’t accept loads of words that do fit - it only seems to accept the exact word it wants you to find, and disallows any others that you think of that are equally correct.
Sometimes I also suspect that the app is using made up words; once again, as another reviewer said, I have sometimes found myself swiping letters randomly until the app accepts a word that I don’t recognise at all. I’ve googled quite a few of those words when they occur and they don’t seem to exist anywhere except within the app!
Finally, it helps to know how to spell like an American (color, instead of colour etc).
The app is a lot of fun tho, despite all of that.

This is a really good game, lots of challenges and really like the variety so you don’t get bored. Normally ads don’t bother me, BUT the length of these ads is ridiculous some lasting longer than the level you’ve just played ! And they play after every “level” even if that is just to make 3 words. I would give this game 5 stars IF they reduced the length and quantity of ads. Just makes the developers seem greedy.

I understand that if you don’t want to pay for games like this then you have to accept the ads, but I found there were way too many, they lasted way too long, and were completely repetitive. I never got past the early rounds, which you can finish in a few seconds, before having to sit through 30-60 seconds of ads before the next round. Gave up for that reason. Shame, because the game itself is well-executed and fun. I’d give 4 stars just for the game, but only 2 stars for the overall experience.

Too many ads, some of which you can't skip after the usual 5 seconds. So after 10 seconds of play, you have to sit through 30 seconds of ad. If an ad catches my attention, I don't mind watching it right through. But, if I'm then not interested in following it up, I don't want to have to watch it in full over and over.
After a while, ads appear after each game and then after a few more game-then-ad sequences it eventually crashes.
For me, I only see one game mode, making words from a selection of letters. Never found the word-search style IQ game that lured me in from another app's ads.

I got this after seeing an ad for it, a huge grid of letters where you have to find hidden words.
The reality is finding words in a very limited letter selection, with the most challenging so far (I am at level 63) as a 5 letter word. Most levels contain more than one two letter word.
It may get harder further down the line, but at level 63 I would have expected to get more of a challenge.
Fun if you want something nice and easy, but tedious if you were looking for more difficulty.
Addictive - increasingly obscure vocabulary

I enjoyed this, despite the ads, up to around level 1,200. I then deleted it, partly because because the vocabulary was too 'American' - words like 'toon' were acceptable, but 'gran' was not, and partly because it became too frustrating. I found the daily challenges fun until not a single everyday word was used in the 'challenge' list, and I had to second-guess the obscure vocabulary that had been selected. Having said that, this is a very clever game with inventive means of collecting extra points, in the form of money or golden apples. Incidentally, the ads can be dismissed after 10 seconds by tapping the top left hand corner of the ad panel - eventually a 'dismiss' cross appears and you can close it. I found that this became second-nature and I didn't even notice the ads after a while.

This game is well designed and basically good to play. You can play offline too. One annoyance because I have only got a small phone screen is that I often catch the wrong letter when I am swiping them to make a word and lose “apples” but that is not the developer’s fault. The daily challenge makes you think because you have to choose the words in the right alphabetical order to win stars. I wish it was on during the afternoon though, the time limits don’t fit in with my lifestyle. There are adverts between every level which aren’t too annoying but can use up your battery power. I got really addicted to this game but then several of the features stopped working e.g. the 50 free coins for watching an extra advert, the jigsaw puzzles, and the special events where you have to collect certain words for a particular event, most recently St. Patrick’s Day, before that - Chinese New Year, and you’d get partway through the collection and it would disappear before the end date?? These glitches make it less fun, and also harder to build up coins for hints. They say they are fixing these but nothing has happened yet. March 2020. I’m still playing it though!

I really enjoy this game and find some games quite challenging as sometimes the brain doesn’t see the obvious. The number of ads though is ridiculous - not so bad if 15 seconds but 30 + seconds means you are watching more ads than playing.
For the last 2 weeks rarely able to get the extra videos for more coins to work( not that you want to watch more
as the cost of hints means 5 x30 second+ videos for 1 hint....) reported as a fault but no response and no app update so still not working properly.......

I really enjoyed this game but I’m sorry to say that i will be deleting it. Every time I play it will disappear to be interrupted by an unwanted ad. These ads often go on for almost a minute and as the games do not interest me it is very annoying. It is always the same few ads which makes it even more annoying. Get rid of them and I will return and I’m sure I’m not the only one!

Had a second go and unwanted came up which I just cannot get rid of so once again I have deleted it.

I’ve only had this app about a week but already I am addicted to it! I have always enjoyed word games and this is one of the best. I joined one of the groups which adds that extra competitive element. Too many ads but I guess that’s what keeps it free.
Since the last update (Sunday?) the app doesn’t open. It’s the second time this problem has occurred. I’ve lost two days of playing with my team. Really annoyed. Might just give up and find another word game. There are plenty around.

I also love this game but this is the 2nd time it has got stuck at the loading page, I deleted it first time then re installed it but it has happened again, very frustrating, don’t want to keep deleting then reinstalling!! A great game though if it would work property!!

You must know by now that this game has stopped working since the iOS update, read the complaints and let us know what is being done about it, even if not a quick fix just let us know you are trying to get it sorted or are we wasting our time waiting.

So dissapointed I love this game but I have same issue. I try to load game and it goes to opening page says it’s loading but never loads!!!!very annoying!!!!i also had problems getting prize wheel for the puzzle pieces game. I was addicted to this game but if can’t get on it in next 24hrs then deleting five days is too long to wait to get on a game.

I was really enjoying this, had it on my phone and pad. Both stopped loading at around level 300. I had to uninstall and reinstall and loose my progress.
I didn't really work out what all the additional puzzles were- the jigsaw never seemed to do anything.
A few dodgy words were included ( very obscure ones when it rejected the more obvious) apart from that - very addictive. Annoying that it stopped working. It would seem from the reviews that I am not alone.

I used to play this game a lot, it has become my favourite word game app. However a recent update stopped the app working (read all recent reviews and see the same from everyone). I waited 3 days. I tried to submit a form on the app developers website but it doesn’t submit. A new version has been released, I’ve updated the app accordingly and it still doesn’t work. Very disappointing. If not fixed soon, will find a new similar app because trying several times a day to load the app and check for updates is too frustrating.

I am addicted to this app... or at least, I was until it was updated. I can’t get onto it now and it just hangs. I’ve tried downloading it again hoping the developers had realised what had happened and had fixed it, but they hadn’t. I really don’t want to delete it as I don’t want to lose my score and start again. Please fix it as I’m getting withdrawal symptoms ;-)

Had an update for this app on Monday after the update the app hasn’t worked can’t get into the game just a round circle for loading but it never does. On Tuesday got another update and still the same thing happening. I don’t want to go back to the beginning and start all over again plus the fact I have paid money for no adds. You need to get the problem sorted ASAP or refund all the people that have paid you good money to play your game.

I love this game and playing level 4100+. I can’t tell you the exact level as the latest update I applied today has stalled on the opening page. It is stuck on the loading page with white rotating arrow circle. Very annoying. I feel like deleting and reloading the game but I don’t want to go back to the begining again. I also had the known fault with the puzzle bonus. It has been stuck for at least the last four puzzles with no rewards.
Please fix and I will be happy again

I have played this game for months since the new update I can’t load the game up just stays on the loading screen and when I tried to contact app support that wouldn’t work either it wouldn’t submit my question of help regarding this issue really disappointed

Read several reviews complaining it’s too easy, too many adverts etc. I haven’t experienced excessive adverts myself as of Nov 2019. The levels do indeed begin very simply, 2,3,4 letter words. However as one progresses into higher levels it’s 4,5,6,7 letter words. The game allows people to adjust and build confidence if not played lots of similar game. I do agree that the cost for hints 120 points is excessive. The daily game play claims words listed alphabetically but they are not, making it almost impossible to collect the constantly moving sun & moon marked words, to collect stars, to get animal cards (what they are for I don’t know?) I’ve played over 200 levels and still only collected 4 stars. You need 5 for a card! The game has 2000 levels I believe. I agree with others that you can input a word which it doesn’t recognise the first time you add it only to recognise it later (a super brain computer obviously learning as we go?!🤷🏻♀️). I have enjoyed it for dusting off the cobwebs but it can always be improved I’m sure. Perhaps also give more info on the progress within the game to explain so people will stay past the first 100 odd basic levels.

I downloaded this app as it appeared to have some challenging words in the advert I saw for it. Unfortunately, I’m up to level 50 and all the words are mainly two, three and four letter words, so not at all challenging. I kept playing, hoping it would get progressively harder, but no luck and having just read a review where someone stated they were up to level 300 and still getting the same amount of letter words, I won’t be continuing playing which is a shame as the advert for the game looked really good.

I downloaded this as it looked challenging in the advert. I am so disappointed. I’m into the 100s on the levels and still 2,3 and 4 letter words. No challenge at all. It is more for a child I think. Plus there are one or two adverts at the end of nearly every go. Unless you want to pay a monthly premium of $7.99. I don’t mind watching an advert now and again if I’m not paying for the app but this is way over the top. It is so annoying. I do buy games I really like but this one is no where near worth the MONTHLY cost they want. It is not even worth a one off payment for that amount. I am deleting the game.

I love word games and this is so addictive. I play everyday, on the bus, at work and home, l can’t put it down. When I’m in the middle of a game, it’s easy to leave and restart where I left off. I have only one criticism, I’d expect the size of the main word to be longer the more levels I go. Im in the 300’s and still getting 4 and 5 letter words, I want something more taxing the higher levels I go. Other than that, it’s a great game

One of the better words games I have played on, really enjoy the concept and it’s very addictive. However, each chapter is split in to 10 levels and there is a ridiculous amount of ads between them. I played two very short rounds and got hit with a 45 second ad... I then played another couple and there it was again- another 45 second ad.
I understand money has to be made, especially as not everyone will spend money to support the updates and development and I have no issues with watching *some ads, I know nothing in life is genuinely free - but it’s insane how many interruptions there is. It makes the whole thing so frustrating, it’s beyond reasonable to expect people to sit through 80% ads and 20% game play!
Sorry, but at level 90 I had to delete :-(

I love this app sooooo much I only downloaded it yesterday and I am on level 50 . It is also make me persevere so much I think that is so important for an amazing game . I love it this is the only app which I go on. The creators have made a mega amazing game so addictive. It also makes you think sooo much . I love how there are hints . I hope when I finish there will be a part 2 !!!!!luv this game 😀😍😍😀😀😀

Love this app and despite ads I am hooked. Trouble is there is no option to pay for app, only to buy more hints. Please offer option to pay for ad free at a reasonable rate. Happy to use free points option to watch ads to gain points. BUT if I go out of app and back in I am thrown off track by constant ads. As with another reviewer I am through all levels and getting same words to solve a second time. More new stuff please

Our daughter suggested this to me and I am so pleased that she did...
Although ads can be very irritating, this games offers coins for watching..
I thoroughly recommend this game..if I have just a few odd minutes to spare, during the day, I will play this and now my husband is interested, too..

This game challenges your vocabulary and your patience but is very addictive, some of the lexicon it uses is American so please be aware. You can score bonus coins to help you solve the puzzles. The music is unfortunately repetitive and gets in your head after a while. Good game though!

Games gd and that but it doesn’t fit the whole screen of my iPhone X that’s a big issue I travel on trains and get bored very easily so I look for games to pass the time and I’ve had to delete the app and continue on my iPad Pro my iPad is big and I don’t want to be using a big screen to play the game plus people can be nosey and look what you are doing and that’s not gd for me so please consider to change the way the game is set out on the iPhone X black bars are not gd at all
