I’ve been playing this game for years and for the most part it’s been enjoyable. Love how it follows the movies, beautiful graphics and relatively simply match 3 game play. Recently I’ve noticed the challenges getting tougher and tougher. One puzzle can take days to complete. I am fed up with spending real money on this game, only for boosters not to work to complete the level. Puzzle 1550 for example. I paid 900 coins for five extra moves, as I knew I had a Ron Weasley token I could trigger, causing the gobstones and the barriers around the map to be destroyed. Five additional moves should have been plenty. Instead, the fireworks triggered by the token destroyed random gems not the goals relevant to me completing the puzzle! Winged keys also do not always target the goals, and often when gems fall they do not create the power ups, even when the gems are not hindered by water or fire. I am running out of patience with the game. Levels should be harder as you progress, but not so near impossible that it takes 75 lives and sheer dumb luck to complete. Please stop money grabbing and reinvest into making this game as enjoyable as it used to be.

You get so far then the game tries to stop you going further always trying to get you to use money. Not all players get the same options as others and support say they cannot control who gets what with the adverts to watch to gain extra moves after failing a puzzle. Some players have always got the option and others never have and doesnt look like they ever will. Game doesnt always give the power ups you have made the gems flash and disappear without putting the power up in its place. The winged keys hit something you need to collect next to it and then go to that very spot to take the same item out - waste of a key. You need to have a creature charged as most of the time you cannot pass puzzles unless you have a creature charged after level 65. It just gets stupid.

However I’ve noticed something strange with my game is that in the events section I keep seeing 2 notifications but there’s nothing to do there! Levels take a good 30-40 tries to complete. Adverts are rarely offered now, and it’s a gamble as to whether they’ll even work. Today I had 1.5hrs of unlimited lives and I cleared FOUR levels. Three of those I was forced to use my creature power because I was one or two moves out from finishing, the fourth I was simply lucky. There is no strategy, power ups deliberately avoid areas where they are needed unless there’s only one thing left to collect on the board. I managed to clear one more level since over the course of maybe the next two hours but again, with one move left I wasn’t offered an advert and had to buy moves with coins because I would’ve torn my hair out otherwise. I’m on the shrieking shack and every single level I’ve encountered in this or the previous chapter are deliberately short on moves.

Spell classes take months to complete. The hedge maze is atrociously difficult now, even the first tier all seven lives are used to hopefully pass one single level. The mischief event still ruins games that would absolutely have been won otherwise. Swiping left/right is still often reversed to avoid making a good match and winning.

I’m done. I’m fed up with this game. I have no reason to keep playing, especially with cheats also still rife.

The key to progressing with this game without spending money is patience and strategy. I don’t mean waiting around a long time because there’s plenty to keep busy if you are out of lives. Choosing to watch ads whenever you can (which isn’t excessive) really helps progress because bonuses are pretty generous. Join a club because there’s benefits as long as you are in an active one. It doesn’t have to be top level. Find the events and activities that get the goals you want to achieve and focus on those. For example, if your problem is you can’t get all the creatures, complete the collecting gems events for the chests. If you get all of the chests (watch ads to help) you get a time turner so you can collect again. If you get all of the chests twice you get a pack of cards for the animals! Look for features like this within events and you’ll soon be on your way! If you get stuck on a level, which doesn’t happen too often, just keep plugging at it eventually a bonus will pop along and help. This game is loads of fun and great quality. You can choose to pay for stuff, but you don’t have to for it to be awesome! I’ve never spent a penny and have every creature and lots of bonus items. I really recommend it.

This game was my fav even after I had played all the levels and doing the harder levels until new levels came. I expected the levels to get harder as I progressed but some of them are just ridiculous. I can now be on the same level for days which makes it very frustrating and no fun anymore. The game itself is great -great gameplay and link to the films and characters but the way the levels are created is to make you pay coins for success and so often you are left with one item to remove at a cost of 900 coins - the game promises bonuses such as 3 extra lives but so often you don’t receive them when you should and are left with having to depend coins to finish a level.

The game has magical creatures you unlock via opening cards gained through 8 victories but the chances of unlocking is long and tedious and again not assisted by your success but to drag out hoping your frustration leads to spending coins.

Overall too frustrating and lacking genuine rewards for your personal achievements but the link to the films is good and it’s a shame the creators don’t assist the players inrewards that actually encourage them to continue playing.

Clans you can join are graded on your weekly trophies but again the rewards for success are minimal and poor compared to your efforts -

No doubt the game engine is fixed against you so be prepared to be frustrated and fed up and like so many who just drop out and stop playing

Overall, its a great game but my only flaw is, I can't update to the new version because I have a lower iOS rating than everybody else that plays the game. For this reason, I can't play anymore so I will be downloading it on my iPad instead

It’s a great game, you don’t just feel like you’re completing a standard puzzle but in fact it has some strategy to it. Joining an alliance and sending lives ensures it’s rare you run out of moves and there is always an event running outside of your normal levels to ensure there’s always something to play!

My only gripe is that the daily rewards actually stop me from playing, as soon as you open the game, you’re given your daily reward (eg 30 minute unlimited lives). If I’ve only got a quick 5 minutes to play but I know if I open the game I’ll be given 30 minutes unlimited love, I’ll just not want to play at all for those 5 minutes and want to save opening the game for when ive got 30 minutes free… it’d be great if daily log in rewards were sent to your inbox to be manually claimed rather than automatically given when opening the game..

I love the graphics and the way it follows the books. Being able to give others extra lives and receive them in return is also a lovely feature. Using spells and levelling up is super fun as well. It’s a great game to unwind to and I love how you can just pick up whenever, so you don’t have to play everyday.

But, I’m really sick of watching videos for three extra moves and then it not counting, so you end up watching an advert video for nothing. Sometimes there isn’t even an option to watch a video again, the button just refuses to push again or greys out. It’s really frustrating, especially when you are so close to completing a level and only need one extra move. If that was fixed, I’d give 5 stars.

I absolutely LOVE this game. The levels are interesting and challenging. The ability to choose your house, your avatar and your wand is great. The chapters and stories are perfectly matched to the books. The additional challenges and puzzles are really fun and exciting. The daily puzzle keeps you interested and engaged. Sometimes additional challenges are introduced without much information so can be a bit bewildering until you get used to it. The ability to pick a team is great, you can search on names and choose one that matches your house or favourite character. You can also leave a team at any point if it doesn’t work for you. Team challenges are great and getting trophies for the team is really bonding. It would be great to have character avatars like Luna etc. You don’t have to buy coins but they are reasonably priced if you do. I honestly love this game.

Been playing since launch. The scenes, characters and nods to so many parts of the stories are great. Some difficult levels make it challenging and maintains interest. Some great bonus/additional levels recently (Forbidden Forest for example). Also great to chat to other team members if you want to.

Great and rare to have a game that is not constantly overrun with ads too! You can chose to watch one for extra moves, but that’s a choice. Wish more developers did this - breath of fresh air!

However… the frequency of the Weasley ‘pranks’ feature is spoiling the fluidity and enjoyment of the game. Initially they appeared infrequently and were a fun, sneaky challenge. But it seem like they are more than weekly now. It’s dull, they’re annoying and we are losing players because of them. Enough already! I play less when the pranks are switched on.

For the last three weeks after pressing the blue tab to collect items the ad. that comes up freezes at the end. I am often unable to use the game again until the following day. This isn’t happening with any other game I use. Is there a problem at your end causing this? In addition today the tab “watch” to obtain three extra moves is not working. I have had to use 900 points because I was so close to achieving a level and might have managed two other levels if the tab had been working.

I love this game. As a potter fan it has great references, the play is fun and even though it gets tougher as it goes along you don’t get stuck on one level for days in end. You get regular rewards that enhance the play and can work towards help from your pet.

The only issue I have is with the cards you collect. The further on you go, the more duplicates you get. From an average of 5 packs (with 3 cards per pack) I only got 1 unique card, and you have to play 8 levels to get 1 pack. It would be great if you could trade with other players to complete a set.

Overall the only match 3 game I have kept for as long as this, and I am still loving it!

Have played this game for quite a time now and on level 436. It’s got to a stage where you are being forced to buy coins to continue the game ie when you loose all your lives sometimes you get the option of watching a video and get 5 extra moves or pay 900 coins for 5 extra moves. If you don’t have the coins to pay for the extra moves you watch the video. Well time and time again the video will not play so it’s making you pay to continue. I have contacted support and their explanation was they don’t have control of the videos as that is contracted out. I would’ve given the game 5 stars but this problem of video it’s only getting 4 stars.

This is a well developed game with good graphics and HP quotes yadda yadda, it is, and it’s also true that you can pass the levels without spending lots of money. You will need patience to be able to complete levels, I’m on 223, and there have been too many levels where I’ve only needed one thing to complete it. So at first you spend 900 coins to get 5 extra moves and all seems well as they seem to pour money and special moves at you in the beginning. That slows down when the levels get harder, and daily classes are a joke to try and do sometimes. I haven’t even bothered with the club thing, as most reviews just say they’re dead weight, and as for collecting cards, I’ve got so many animals that need just one card to get, and don’t think I’ll ever get another with the amount of duplicates that come up. So yeah, spend your real money on this if you want a nice relaxing game, or just get annoyed at the continual disappointment of playing really well, but just not good enough to get the last square you need.

The more I play it, the less I like it. I’d like to like it, but there are too many annoying things that really grind my gears.

It’s a great game to pass spouts of boredom and times in the day when you’ve got a few minutes. I do wish they’d make a small change and let you decide when you want to collect your daily log in reward or the weekly puzzle chests that you obtain. Sometimes I’ve just got 5 minutes to play and don’t want to log in and waste 45 minutes of unlimited lives so I find myself not bothering to play until later in the day as I feel it’s wasted otherwise. Have been playing this game for quite a while now! As a club leader I would love to see some things:

- a little star/something next to new club members names (we have a trophy minimum and when a new member joins mid week it’s hard to keep track who is exempt from kicking that week.)

- be able to message individuals! I want to message my officer about rules etc without the entire club seeing our planning before it’s finished as the club gets very confused before we settle decisions.

- my whole club HATES the mischief event!!! Please change it or remove it! :(

I’ll be honest I can understand why you need to make money as a business, and unlike a lot of free apps they don’t use annoying adverts for this. However I’ve had several occasions (too many for it to be simply error) where blocks have moved the wrong way, and that can only be to mess with you. Also there are occasions starting from lvl 150 and above where you start to notice a pattern of the game deliberately not giving you the blocks you need, but giving you enough to get close to finishing the puzzle so you have to buy coins to get the last few moves. I can understand why they do it, but it does mark these sorts of games down for me, however it’s a well constructed game otherwise and kudos for not spamming us with ads.

My XP is at level 50 & now can’t collect anymore, is this as far as you can go or is there a bug in the game ?. Why can you only send 20 lives in a team when there are 30 members. And then you have to wait for hours to send or get lives, is this another bug ? If you can’t collect XP anymore what’s the point in doing the challenges. And the pranking is ridiculous, small teams get there trophies taken from massive teams and then really struggle to get any further in the game, this is a real downer and upset to what is a really good game, the above is actually making me think of not playing anymore. All in all I love this game. The HP references are spot on. The levels vary from easy (complete them first time) to so hard to complete it makes you want to throw your phone across the room. Only recently have I had any complaints about it, only 2-3 of us in our club actually play, myself and my husband being the ones keeping the club afloat. Which isn’t a fault with the game, more other players. The second- the specials have become stupid. They used to go where you most needed them to. I really enjoy this game. The puzzles do get harder as you progress but are the right balance where even if you get stuck on one for a while it is not impossible and you can get through without using lots of coins. They also link bits from the films, well so far up to chamber of secrets.

There are a couple of problems. At times when you clear an obstacle the gems don’t drop down into the space you cleared so there is a gap. Sometimes you can use up a move just to get them to drop down or they don’t drop at all which is frustrating when it means you won’t complete the level. The other problems is clubs. You can get benefits joining a club and work up the leagues. However the club I’m in has a lot of dead weight with people not playing for ages. This includes the club leader and officers. It means that we can’t kick them out and make space for new people who will play and so we will progress up the leagues further than we are. I’m reluctant to move clubs as it took a while to find one that actually had enough people participating in the first place. There needs to be something where either people who haven’t been on for a while get kicked out of clubs or a way for members to vote to change the leader so it can be done within the club itself (other games I’ve played had this option and it worked well)

I really enjoy match three games and I’m a Harry Potter fanatic so this game is my dream come true. You get lives which refresh regularly although I’d like them to be a bit faster. The levels start off relatively easy and get harder. There are lots of Harry related references. Love the music. I’m pretty far into this now and it can take me lots of lives to complete a level but it gives you a sense of satisfaction when you succeed. I really like the mandrakes. I have purchased extra coins but don’t do so that often. I only have one criticism. You join a team when you start. To move up the reward levels you need your team to be playing regularly. In my case there are just two of us out of 20 that play every day. This makes it so hard to get promoted. I think if you don’t play for a month you should be removed from the team. Let people who want to play join. The game developers need to look at this as it’s spoiling a really good game. Other than that this game is brilliant and I’d recommend you get it.

Being a fan of match 3 type games, I have really enjoyed playing Harry Potter Puzzles & Games even though I am not really familiar with the HP books or films! I play on a 6th generation iPad, with 128GB capacity. For this reason, it is probable that because the game is so big, I don’t suffer the problems of crashing etc that other players have mentioned. I am currently on level 1019 and have not paid a penny to reach this level (sorry Zynga!), it is possible if you have patience! However, I have watched advertisements to gain trophy’s. You need to be in a good group - one whose leader kicks out members who don’t contribute, so shop around. My first group had a club leader that didn’t play, so I left and found another! Those reviewers who say they want evidence that the game can be played without money - then, I am that evidence! I’ve been stuck on a level for 2 or 3 days, but pass it eventually. Have patience, and just enjoy the game as I do. Ps I’m over 60, so if I can do it then anybody can!!!

I cannot put this game down but am forced to due to the considerably disproportionate 900 coin cost to continue a level against the daily coin collection.

In short, the ability to earn enough coins to either extend your play on a level, buy bundles or extra lives is extremely weighted to forcing players to spend money, which, in my opinion, is ruining the game and gameplay. You can burn through 5 lives very easily on one level then find yourself either waiting an eternity for the lives to recharge or ponder on how much you are willing to spend to continue, which, if you are a minor or in a clan fighting for a position, can be tempting and very expensive.

TO THE DEVELOPERS

A definite reconsideration either on the daily coin package size or reducing the coin costs associated with buying lives or to continue a level is required. To put it simply, a player cannot earn enough coins during normal play to cover the cost to continue play without spending money, which, every player will attest to, ruins playability and is extremely off putting not to mention too enticing for minors/children to delve into funds which, let’s be fair, isn’t a good look!

Every fifty duplicates you get bonus cards true - but these are also duplicates! Decided to put it to the test and pay for cards to see if I got one previously unobtainable but - no. Yet MORE duplicates. All a bit of a rip off. Also - no way can you win some of those games unless you pay for extra moves - particularly when the player has to complete two boards. Can be VERY expensive!

Love the group thing - but frustrating when only 8 to 10 player out of 30 are active.

Candy crush clone with a HP facade. It’s not a fantastic game for those who actually enjoy this type of puzzle game. The game is definitely fraught with bugs and an overwhelming sense of the developers being desperate to get their hands on your physical money, especially as you advance to higher levels. The gameplay is extremely repetitive and unrewarding for example by you burning through lives by failing standard levels and yet can complete “hard” levels with double digit moves to spare?! Furthermore the lack of levels, relying on Legends levels pertaining to your house when the story ones run out is disappointing.

On the upside, the use of the HP licence hasn’t been too shabby, the game does have a nice aesthetic appeal that ties in nicely with the film franchise and the artwork is really good for the most part.

There are a lot of match 3 games out there and I find this one keeps me coming back for more. Installed on the 13th November, as of 31st December made my way up to level 38 and on puzzle 825!

Whilst some puzzles can be hard and frustrating at times, I like you are rewarded with unlimited lives for a certain amount of time between the events and daily rewards. Without using them I don’t think I would have got as far as I have.

Personally, it doesn’t matter to me when I get days where I only go up one or two levels as there are currently at this time of rewriting my review 31st December there are 1055 puzzles.

Recently joined a club in the last week and I had wished I joined it sooner as you are rewarded xp where you send lives to other players and can request lives yourselves.

So my final thoughts are if you like Harry Potter, like match 3 games, don’t mind grinding away daily then this is the game for you. Because let’s face it, It would be really boring if you finished it quickly, although I might be finishing toward the end the way I’m going.

I love playing this game, it’s really fun filled and stays really true to the franchise as a whole. I also like the element where there are teams, without having to be connected to another social media platform, which is super rare these days.

However much I love the game as a whole, one thing for me needs to be resolved and that’s the force at which the troll lands on the screen and the whole game vibrates. When you are playing a level with such high intensity, it starts to make me feel ill seeing the board vibrate so much around the troll and it also puts me off playing the game for a while, because I really don’t want to be ill. So if that could be resolved that would be amazing.

The improvements would be great is that whilst part of a club with the family we will never get up the league table due to the lack of members. The other ideas would be to store the extra times to be used within 24hr period. Would be nice if the Potions move quicker and remembrall to have some hope of finishing levels. I love HP and connect 3 games so really enjoying this. I have an analytical mind so can win most of the time without paying anything; having said that though I recently use a lot of the coins trying to carry on when I ran out of moves. Naturally I head over to the bank part to buy just a small boost but there’s some kind of glitch; it says to check my connection when there’s nothing wrong with my connection! Literally tried everything I could think of and still glitchy. I managed to beat the level but knowing I can’t purchase moe coins is very frustrating as you need them for a surprising amount of things.

I just want to play the main game with my friends, not play against thousands of other people for days at a time. The games are so difficult it’s getting really boring. I refuse to pay any real cash into games simply because I don’t have the income to do so. To continue a level and use in game coins is 900!!!!! If you use the boosters on entering the level and the ones in level, you can kiss them goodbye too, it’s rarer than a dodo to get any back without purchasing them for real cash. This game is so fun! I love the Harry Potter theme and the club leagues, all for free with no ads (bonus!) me, my family and friends are completely hooked.

The only suggestions I have to make this game better are these:

1. Don’t make it that you have to use the spell as soon as all the orbs are collected. It’s so frustrating when you finally get a magic bag and bomb/key/bolt next to each other and then you have to use the spell which ends up moving them away 😫 it would be better if you could choose when to use the spell, like you can with your creature.

2. Once you run out of moves, it would be great if the power ups left on the board could then be set off to see if they can complete the level.

Sometimes you only need to collect one more gem and have just made a key on the board using your last move - if this could then be set off at the end of the game, that gem would then have been collected and you can move on a level.

The new update has ruined the tiles of the game they used to look really nice like glass and now they look basic and dull. This is a great game but I really wish the new updates would make the layout look nicer not worse as in with the previous update where now the avatars you make can only smile with teeth instead of mouths closed as well which does not look very appealing and looks quite awful in my opinion. I love to play this game but with now the tiles changing to a flat boring design compared to the nice glass finish they had the look appeal is putting me off.

I’m enjoying the game and as with everything Harry Potter the community is great. Our club was able to reach first place for promotion. Once the week ended we received a club notification that we were promoted to emerald 2. However not even an hour later, we get another notification in our chat that we were demoted to Emerald 1.

Please fix this. We worked hard for that. I would understand our demotion if this week we couldn’t get to the top and were in the demotion zone. But within an hour of promotion week ending getting promoted and demoted is not right. All our progress was lost.

So, it’s a fun game, addictive, no ads, match three type, with lots of HP related features which are sometimes great, sometimes annoying. I like it and will probably play occasionally rather than every day now. It goes from being very exciting and relatively easy at the start, to pretty hard as you move up the levels. It will appeal to both adults and kids because of the HP theme, so my thought is that it’s a bit pricey for kids, and a bit difficult to pass levels without payment, again more of a problem for kids. The cost of extending a level is also excessive. The team thing can be good if you can get with a good crowd, mine are ok, I didn’t know them already but they usually give me lives when asked, as I do, but that’s about it. I think if they sort out the price/points thing it will be more fun, less stress and fairer to kids.

I 100 percent think that everyone should get this game it is amazing! I love that you can choose your house and name because usually it won’t let you! I love this so much l have even told my friends and cousins to get it! As soon as they did l was amazed to see how much they had been playing for! So if you love games , Harry Potter and more l recommend getting this app! I love that you can learn spells to and meet Hagrid! You can also pick your wand what l was very surprised to see because it usually picks a wand for you in other games! I have just started and l am already in love with this game!!!!! 🥰💗😍✨👑

Easy at first but as you get a few levels in its get rather annoying loads of times I’ve run out of lives with only 1 item to get or if I need to collect book/gems/bubbles not enough will show up on the board and I end up using all my lives and I just seems they make that happen to make you spend the odd pound her the odd pound there but if you keep doing that it soon adds up also I’ve made a group and no one seems to be joining don’t know if I’ve got the wrong settings or what but as you need a group to earn trophies to get up the ranks Its kind of annoying there should be one league for groups and another one for people who want to play without being in a group like the other match 3 games made by this company
