The app is a great app to use if you can’t download WhatsApp yet there are a few setbacks. I personally found it really hard to figure out how to delete messages but after I figured that out the only setback I could think of is that most of the time when I try to send a photo the message doesn’t send.

I bought a year’s subscription. Big mistake! Cancelled after a month. Every time I use it it logs me out so I have to get my phone and scan the QR code to log in. A complete pain in the behind. I now just use What’s App using my web browser. This simply isn’t worth the effort.

I find it useful to use WhatsApp on my iPad rather than my phone because typing is so much easier. However, it is slow to load chats and frequently requires re-linking to my phone. I hope the developers will do something about these faults because it would otherwise be a 5 star app.

It works reasonably well, although it is slow to load and recently has been unable to cope with videos. One irritating bit is the way the tiny adverts are made to jiggle at the top of the page. Another irritation is the way it signs itself out and you have to keep re-linking it to your iPhone. This seems to leave behind phantom linked devices that have to be deleted every now and then. Otherwise, even though I only use it on one iPad, you end up allegedly being over the five device maximum limit. In view of this, the most irritating part of all is the large number of jiggling reminders to submit a 5-star review of the app. I don’t usually bother to submit reviews but beware what you wish for!

I have been using What’s App for sometime on my iPhone and iPad.
The performance difference between both is vast!
The iPhone is pretty good although from time to time I have issues playing videos sent to me - even though I have the latest software uploaded from Apple. Oh! and yes I’ve followed the community advice on how to correct this but still get the message regarding incompatibility.
As for the iPad version it seriously needs a rethink on how it deals with message storage and time delays in logging into the App.

I wanted WhatsApp on my iPad as it’s so much easier for me to read the larger format and type on the larger keypad but this app is soooo annoying! It used to be more reliable but for some reason it stopped working and I had to delete and reload. From that moment all the following problems emerged. It takes ages to load, it keeps asking me to sync it with my phone when it’s been synced numerous times, the bouncy ads drive me mad and sometimes it doesn’t even load at all so I have to delete it and reload on a regular basis. I also don’t like that I can’t start a new line of text without sending what I’ve already written, so the recipient gets my message in instalments because I keep forgetting it’s not proper WhatsApp that I use on my phone. We can send men into space and have driverless cars but can’t develop a decent, reliable WhatsApp version for iPhone?? Grrr….

It’s good this app exists; it’s far better than having nothing and I frequently write Whats app messages on my ipad because I type fast with both hands and need bigger keys than on my phone. But there are glitches. I can’t listen to any voice messages or send them; I can’t watch any videos and for some reason I can’t see photos or use emojis. For straight messaging it’s okay but it could be a lot better. I’m thankful it’s free.

Very good app and has improved by miles since i last used it. Before i could only use it maximum three times after closing its window each time without having to link device. Then it would ask to link device again. Now i have used it atleast 10 times so far and it has not asked me to re-link device (your phone). This is the best one for whatsapp daily use.

This app is useless as the user has no control over the start and finish of useless and invasive adverts. They come unexpectedly at high volume and only end after a timed period. To ban adds the user must pay a subscription. So, it’s best to use a web browser on say Firefox to access a free version of WhatsApp and keep fingers crossed Zuckerberg (Meta) comes out with an IPad version without a subscription, like on the iPhone.

This App gives me so many problems. I have to relink my iPad every few days using my phone. At one time it made me relink every time I opened the App. Then another time it took about 4 minutes to load messages for several days in a row. These aberrations were random and came and went. But I find it so much easier to write messages on an iPad as the keyboard is larger. I’ve tried other Apps but none are any better, so I struggle on.

When this works, it’s great. Yes it’s slow but I can live with that for the convenience of being able to read messages on my iPad. BUT - and it’s a big but - it keeps logging me out for some reason. No idea why - it’s random - one moment it’s fine and the next it takes me to the link screen again. Worse - the QR either doesn’t load at all or is very slow to load and once you have done this four times you have to delete previous log ins as if they were on different devices. App support takes you nowhere that you can leave a message or ask a question. I would happily pay for an app that worked well but unfortunately this isn’t it.

I moved to this app when the one I had used for years sinply disappeared from my iPhone and ipad. When the app is open on the screen it is very slow but usable. Unfortunately, if I navigate to another app and return to this one I have to wait for it to restart. This is intensely frustrating if all I wanted to do was verify something before continuing composing my message. I am persevering pending finding something better.

Ok so first of all you might be confused by the title and why I gave it four stars this is because when I want to use microphone it lags me out of the app! And it takes a bit of a long time to load in sometimes I have to reset. But other than that this is an amazing game I love it especially how I’m playing it on iPad and usually WhatsApp is only allowed on phone but this app lets me do it on iPad I definitely recommend this app to you 🫵. 🫶I love it!

When I’m picking a recipient,I have to keep tapping on a name as it’s slow to load. Also adverts are a pain. If I want to send a photo to WhatsApp it won’t work. I have to go Into it and then pull up photo library which it is frustrating. Also having to tap on photo library multiple times before it will open. Also the feature to start. New sentence is missing. So I end up sending half of what I want to say as I’m so used to using the phone app which does allow this feature. So a whole, it’s frustrating and I am not using as often as I would like. The whole point of having this is so I don’t have to use my phone for long messages.

It provides no notifications at all so it’s somewhat useless for receiving messages. You have to check manually. It also logs you out every time you leave, and then re-logs in when you return. A very slow and clunky process. It’s only useful for sending messages when you have nowhere else to do it. That’s the only useful function.

You have to get through full screen ads before you can talk to a contact, BUT then you have top of screen ads which oscillate to get attention while you try to compose messages, very annoying does have an effect though, anger and annoyance ! I never open ads that interrupt, they do not do the advertiser any good, despite what the ad agents and service providers tell them. I notice non animated ads but not those with intrusive animation like oscillation. I tend to avoid using this app, I there are plenty others that let you get on with your own priority, ads without interruptions.

I wanted the app on my iPad because it’s easier than trying to type on my tiny phone. But it takes so long to load in sometimes and even if your phone is connected to the Internet it tells you it isn’t you have to keep retrying and retrying. When it works I find it useful for messaging. When it doesn’t it drives me to distraction. And the frustration of arthritic fingers trying to type on the phone keyboard ultimately ends up being easier.

I applaud the attempt to create a WhatsApp access for IPad but having tried it, it’s faster to load WhatsApp in Safari, then select the Safari option to save page to homepage which creates a shortcut icon on the homepage to the actual WhatsApp website. There’s no voice or video chat option on the web version but then again, I couldn’t see any option for that on this app in the short time that I fiddled with it. Until there’s an app that gives me the voice/video chat facility, I’ll stick with the website.

This is good alternative to WhatsApp but it’s rather slow at connecting and opening up. I’m using the 202 iPad Pro so I would expect the app to work quickly, alas it doesn’t.
I can’t find anywhere for it to show unread messages which would be a good addition. I have to open the app to see if I have any waiting messages.

So the app needs to communicate with your phone that is holds the relevant what's app account, this has to be near by & switched on.
The app on the ipad is slow to communicate & often fails even though the phone is less than a few feet away.
Unlike the phone app, you cannot start a new line in the message, if you return the app sends what you have typed so far & starts a new message.
All in all, it's a poor attempt at an app.

Just downloaded this ap after trying a few others .. I like it , hassle free so far and easy to download pictures and docs .. unlike some of the other ams previously tried. But ! I can’t find a way to attach a photo ?

Have been using for 6 months or so. As long as phone is in reasonable range, works brilliantly, set up straightforward. Scale makes adding files/ photos much easier than doing it on my phone too. Thank you, excellent

This is the best app for WhatsApp I have found for my iPad, however it is nothing like the performance and slickness that you get with the genuine WhatsApp app on a phone. I don’t know why this is the case but it is. I guess ultimately it’s all about numbers - I use WhatsApp a zillion times more on my iPhone than on my iPad, but now that I am working from home mostly it would be nice to see some performance improvements.

Many of the iPad versions of WhatsApp either don’t work well or work for a limited time only. The minor annoyances with this version are, for me, outweighed by the fact that it is reliable, as long as your phone has a connection and is nearby.

This app works, but it’s very slow and frequently requires multiple taps to register a choice, which is annoying. The ads are also super annoying and block off the top of the screen when the keyboard is invoked.
It defies understanding why Facebook, a company with hundreds of billions of dollars, has not employed the team of about 5 developers it would take to make their own, proper iPad app.
Nice product EXCEPT for the endlessly jiggling ads

When I first installed this I was really pleased with the idea that I could use WhatsApp on a bigger screen, with a bigger keyboard. It works well and I would be happy to up the rating to 5 stars if you would just display static ads without causing them to jiggle every 2 or 3 seconds. That visual distraction is so irritating that I am considering just deleting it and sticking with the iphone.
