I wouldn’t sell on this app. eBay keeps changing there’s platform ands it’s made it much easier for people to a scam sellers cause you can’t submit evidence of postage or even appeal there decision of a refund. eBay actually makes more profile from you selling than you actually do as the seller, that’s why I really wouldn’t sell on this app now I rather make my own website and sell on that and the upside is free advertising on TikTok make a couple of videos of you making your products and post them on there with a link to your website there we go you’re getting hundreds of thousands of people seeing it and visiting your website. Kind regards thank you eBay for giving me the push i needed to move to my next step stage and move away from selling on your platform cheers man 😋

Glitch in Seller Package Dispatch

Every time I try to select Package Dispatched, the App clashes. The only way I have found to get around this is to enter the Package Tracking number. However, some smaller items do not get a tracking number unless the buyer selects Signed For option (in Royal Mail). So please get this glitch fixed.
Apart from that, the App works well and is convenient for both my selling and buying needs. Thanks.

Put advert on eBay for auction with buy it now price on. My listing is showing it’s there but my advert does not show buy it now price. Even though I have a buyer interested he can’t pay. Trying to contact eBay through phone is virtually impossible. Number it asks me to dial doesn’t exist . The automated bot keeps saying sorry but can’t do anything but will take it forward to help future customer services. What a joke

Searching for items

I regularly go to EBay to look for vintage audio and video gear. In the past if you didn’t know a specific name of an item you could go to the category list and work your way through to the specific area; say vintage vcr. And use the filter to find a brand and so on.
Now it seems part of this category list has changed. It’s as though only trending or popular items are listed and others just won’t show up. I know this as I’ve searched for items I know will be there. Having spotted them in previous searches. Only for the place they should be in the category and subsequent filter list disappear. It makes it frustrating as you may only want to look at, say three brands but can’t as only one is listed meaning your now doing three searches to find the same things. It never used to be like this. Also speaking to my wife the way sellers are being treated is quite bad and if EBay isn’t careful the extra charges your now taking from sellers items will put people off using your site and go elsewhere.

I was trying to sell an Xbox controller to a buyer. I’ve never used eBay and didn’t understand how to the app works. He bought the item and cancelled it a few days later. I asked for cash when he picks it up. So I wasn’t expecting bank transfers. I never received money so I assumed everything was sorted. In frustration of the first buyer cancelling I deleted the app.
Before I put up my post to sell the controller I had £0 in my eBay account. And I’ve always had £0 in it as I’ve never set up my bank details as I wanted to sell just that item for cash, but now I’m in debt almost £20. For money that was never sent to any account. And money for an item that I didn’t receive.
So I lose money. For not selling my item.

Great in the main but it lacks the flexibility that the main site does. E.g. it’ll only go back so far in purchase history. And with most apps these days it’s nearly impossible to be able to ring somebody up if you’ve got a complaint or something without going through the problem at least four or five times with different people. Payment wise it’s very easy. And it’s great for messages from sellers To buyers. But as with the main site please always check The sizes that you’re buying as I’ve had many items come back and they’ve been smaller by a longshot and they don’t always make it easy to exchange or get your money back. E.g. I had a pair of shoes that was sent of the wrong size. And the sellers way of trying to fix this was to just keep offering me 40% off the shoes even though they knew full well that they would never be worn due to the fact that they were too big. Stupid. And very annoying. But if you’re like me and you mainly just buy things off eBay and the app works really wellAnd you’re able to shop from anywhere. Great.

In a world of vast changes our needs are maximizing every second. Or so we think. Minimalists swear on downsizing. Nudists do it anyways and then… there’s all of us who straggle with everyday needs convincing ourselves that a fancy treat at the end of the month makes up for all the hassle and makes it worth it. And when it doesn’t we buy more.. so of us much more.
Ebay gives addicts an overdose they’ll never forget until they eventually get over it and random people/households, the power to recycle whatever they don’t use and eventually get back control over their lives and budgets but… and I can’t stress that enough:
It’s a lifestyle. It’s the only way for ordinary person with average wages to taste the “big” life as a consumer and perhaps one of the very few ways that leads to the “Demystification” of wealth and status through demonstration it. It’s a bloody social revolution lol
Jokes aside, the world needs it, governments should encourage it and people should have it regularly in their lives on way or the other. As all old religions teach, what is may not be and what seems to be most likely ain’t, but unless you try it you’ll never know. And unless one gets financially educated money will never be enough, and money counts for days of our lives. Wouldn’t you want to live more for less, more free days for more quality whatever that means. Good morning world :)

A recent selling experience has made my mind up that I will never use eBay again. I sold a Technics SL1210 turntable, in immaculate condition and fully working. The buyer complained that the lid was smashed, so I offered a discount even though it wasn’t broken when I sent it. Then the buyer complained the motor wasn’t working properly, even though it was when it was sent. Due to eBay ruling I had no choice but to refund the buyer and accept a return. When I received the item I was appalled at the state it was in, covered in deep, unrepairable scratches, the platter had been forcefully removed damaging the steelwork, and the magnetic motor doesn’t work. Attempts to contact eBay have been long winded and a complete waste of time, with all of my appeals being refused. At first I was told to repair the item and sell for even more, then when I said the item was beyond repair I was told to factor in costs in my sale price. Absurd that the buyer receives an item, damages it beyond repair and gets a full refund which I have to pay, absolutely zero seller protection.
I will never use eBay again and have migrated to platforms with less fees and more than zero seller protection.

Well what can I say ebay is a fantastic selling and buying site and you can sometimes get a great bargain item for a fantastic price . It makes items you can’t afford to buy full price you can be lucky enough sometimes and buy one second hand at a low price . And I am going to be listing items for sale myself so I can get some money to put away as I am selling items I don’t use or need just now .i would recommend eBay to everyone it’s fantastic being disabled I am stuck in the house till I get my wheelchair in 12-18 weeks so this site is fantastic for me as I can’t leave the house just now I can get this stuff online and delivered to my door . And eBay is a lot better now you don’t have to deal with PayPal when getting paid for an item it’s so much easier now ebsy have taken over the selling part you have to sell 25 to 30 items in a 90 days they will hold the money for items sold till then but after the 90 days the money ain’t held and I think that is a lot better than the old way they had but the fees ebay take off the item you have sold can sometimes be to much that’s the only issue I have about ebay is they take to much off an item for fees when it’s sold but apart from that I am happy with eBay do have a go and see what you think but I hope what I have wrote helps you

I bought a mask on ebay and I needed it for a job and it was saying that I am going to receive it in three days however after two weeks when I checked with the seller I was provided with a tracking number from Royal mail saying that it’s been delivered when I checked with Royal mail they said it has been missed delivered and the seller needs to call us or get in touch with us claim lost parcel when I contacted eBay they said I need a confirmation email from Royal mail confirming missed delivery which I did and I had the email, when I forwarded The email to eBay every time they asked for something extra which I requested from Royal mail and they corrected it and the last time eBay said I’m gonna receive a refund back in five working days which didn’t happen after three weeks I called them back and said I have not received my my refund for £45 back yet they said your claim took too long and we closed it and you’re not gonna receive any money back towards your parcel which was not delivered. And as much as I told them I did everything exactly as you said in a time and I have proof for everything they did not cooperate at all.

Buggy. Keeps adding returns to listing, even when user removes option. Only way around it is to use seller hub on safari, which is not easy on a mobile. Please read your reviews!!! People hate your app. We are living in an age when sellers most need ebay to work on the go, customers expect immediate help and questions to their answers and YOU ARE MAKING THINGS HARDER AND MOVING BACK TECHNOLOGICALLY!!!! After speaking with an eBay advisor regarding this update, I was informed that you Design the app with buyers only in mind. If this is true you should follow in Etsy’s footsteps and have a sellers app. Also let me remind you, that by making things harder for your sellers, you are automatically making things harder for your buyers. Happy sellers=happy buyers. Sellers who have to use safari on a small phone won’t be go the extra mile for their customers. You are also now policing your sellers so they cannot choose a duration or have their original layout. Smart price should be a one time offer: not on every listing or revision! I honestly don’t know why I bother informing you of your issues when you never bother to resolve them!
Also, you are stealing from your sellers by not returning your percentage of fees on partial refunds now you have eBay managed payments.
Will shortly be moving my account elsewhere unless you fix ALL issues mentioned.

As a seller you must be careful. You need to track your items or immediately someone can claim it didnt arrive. You dont have any physical evidence if it being delivered to their exact house. This causes cheap items becoming not worth to sell. Postage companies charge quite a bit for parcel deliveries and if you’re not a large company, you’re paying a lot more to post than them. Its good to get rid of old items, but usually you’ll find theyre not worth much and it’s questionable if to just give it to a local charity shop. You pay postage and some tax to ebay, as well as listing fees. If you sell anything around £3 you’re actually losing money. As a buyer, it is excellent you can get everything you want. But there is a lot of listings which are deceiving. Such as people selling boxes without the actual item in it, you MUST check all information. Because if you buy by accident, they can say that warned you in their description and are eligible not to refund you.

Generally my ebay App is a godsend if slightly addictive! A few things drive me bonkers like going back into an item from the basket to check a few details only to then have to click on the basket all over again which is frustrating if I have a lot of things in there! Not withstanding that and the other few things my ebay app is a world of amazing vintage things and of inspiration at the touch of a finger. The only downside to that bit is spending a small fortune. But it is also soooo useful to be able to order anything I need whenever it arises and to search the item through a number of sellers to get the best item at the best price then sit back & wait for postie or the courier. Favourite things about the ebay app? Not having to go on the desktop, search update result emails landing in my email, everything I need in one place at the touch of a finger and immediate easy access to a big world of vintage collectables and more. There’s so much to like!

I’ve been using eBay for about 5 years now. I think it’s a great app and helps lots of people as well as being a safer place to buy and sell things. I have 100% positive feedback and use it all the time to buy and sell or at least I used to! Recently I have had restrictions placed on my account due to me being linked to an account of a family member who has the same last name as me but I don’t even live with? Due to this the help centre have said there’s nothing I or they can do and I can only sell 10 items as one of the restrictions. During the holidays I was wanting to put some of my clothes on as I had the time to but after creating some drafts I couldn’t put anymore on!? I feel like I’ve just wasted my time. I’ve done nothing wrong as shown from my feedback score and have respected the app throughout. I’m just upset that I try to keep my score at 100% and be respectful to all other users but for that I get restrictions and am unable to use it. Luckily a friend has put my clothes on as well as there’s so I was still able to do it during the holidays.
Is there anything I can do about this?

I love eBay. It is a great platform for finding researching and buying and selling. There are certain categories that are repeatedly ruined by fraudsters who hack peoples accounts and then post fake adverts… It’s pretty obvious when this is happening and it’s just a massive shame that the eBay team have not worked out some sort of algorithm yet to catch these Frauds as they are happening. I also think there is an issue of responsibility with Gmail and other mail providers to trace the origins of these fraudsters and stop them setting up new email accounts too! Please eBay get to these fraudsters faster! Have flags up on the categories like motorhomes and campervan is that if people stop posting multiple ads within a 12 hour period they are automatically researched by the eBay team and taken down. I hate to think if people have been defrauded out of money because of these fake adverts!

I’m absolutely disgusted by this app I’ve been using it for about 10 years now and have never had any problems with it until suspicious money started getting charged for my bank TOTAL OF £60!! in one month !!!
i’ve been charged eBay sarl I have no idea what this is but from looking on Google it is fees I haven’t paid every single one of my listings has been uploaded for free I do not pay to upload any of my listings on eBay because I can’t afford it.
I have enough problems going on right now and the £60 I’m going to get into DEBT. that’s all through eBay this app is an absolute scam another thing that really concern me is that I stopped using eBay round two months ago because my account got restricted so I thought I’ll just move on from eBay and go to another app. since I have left the eBay app I have been charged random money for completely no reason at this rate I will just have to cancel my card and get a new one because I can’t afford to pay any more money monthly I have made around £100 on eBay and this money that they’re charging me I’m not get any profit on my items, i’ve technically just given all of my clothes and daughters toys away for free. I thought this app was for making money? SORT IT OUT.

As a 10 year membership I have been totally let down by eBay, I opened a case of goods not received with eBay, eBay ruled in the sellers favour, without any proof that the item was delivered to the correct address, I clicked on the appeal and also found them I spoke to several people on the phone, they said I needed to provide as the buyer proof that the goods were not delivered having contacted yodel they have not responded, but the seller has confirming that the goods were delivered to the wrong address. I then had to get in contact again with eBay to discuss this they refused to accept the sellers email and said that the appeal had already been closed yet I had not provided the evidence. Being as I had not had heard back from the Parcel courier, I thought anAdmittal from the seller being as eBay can read the correspondence between sellers and buyers which they did,Would be enough but apparently not, F-U very much eBay

eBay used to be really good and it certainly is a good idea but there are a few flaws that make the eBay experience incredibly frustrating for a seller. Despite the fact that when winning a bid the buyer is supposed to pay, I have found that most do not and they completely ignore you so you have to cancel and relist. This is both time consuming and a complete hassle as you have to open a case via eBay which takes a couple weeks! Also, with the “buy it now” feature I have found people doing the same thing and not paying. Surely they could make it so that when you actually click buy it now the buyer pays. I have also come across the issue where I have specified only UK buyers in the settings and somehow buyers in the USA have managed to bid, meaning I have to cancel and relist. This is no exaggeration when I say OVER half the items I have “sold” have had to be cancelled and relisted, and I’m beginning to think selling on eBay is not worth my time. In addition, it takes a really long time of around a month for you to actually receive your money, whereas with apps like Depop it is instant.

I have collected postcards since the early 90s and still buy them but I have changed my collections over the years and have down sized it, what I sell my duplicates for and the one I don’t want anymore the money goes back to buying more, And I have alway put a picture of front and back and faults if any . So I can’t see why other sellers can’t put a picture of the front and the back of the postcard . Get your self an iPhone it so easy to use to sell on eBay and you can take the pictures straight away and if your selling the same type cards do one then go to you item and hit sell similar item delete picture just change the card number take your pictures, you can turn them as well or delete and take again if not happy , and just keep doing it like that and you can do quite a few at a time just got to remember to change the details each time. So there is know reason to only put one picture, it is so annoying having to keep contacting someone to ask for number and pictures of the back —- EBay should make it mandatory to have a picture of front and the back of postcards

This app is a must have if you buy or sell on eBay, however it has many annoying bugs that haven't been solved in months/years :
- scrolling through lists of items in a search may freeze for several seconds at a time (app completely unresponsive - in developer parlance, this indicates a synchronous operation wrongly being done in the UI thread)
- even more annoying, even infuriating : many text editor pop-ups (such as item description, or the message that goes with an offer) will dismiss themselves more or less randomly while you're in the middle of writing, losing everything you've written so far !!
- "new" items status in saved searches is strictly per device, it doesn't sync between them. This is annoying as you must decide on a single device you will use to browse saved searches, if you want to pick things up where you left off and don't want to see the same items twice.

Good .. until you have an issue with a Buyer.

When selling goods on eBay one is always at the mercy of the Buyer and with no facility to leave anything other than positive feedback they can behave exactly as they like without fear of any penalty whatsoever - the classic one is that they win the auction and then fail to make payment.
With no facility to check a Buyer’s positive/negative feedback ratio, a seller never knows if they are dealing with a time-waster.
If a dispute is opened, eBay will always side with the buyer (irrespective of fault) so it can cost a seller money too.
The following is a good example - I posted an item out to a buyer who failed to collect from the sorting office and resultantly, two weeks later, I received the item back. I contacted the buyer who refused to pay for a re-post and opened a dispute with eBay. eBay settled in his favour - refunding the cost of the item including the £5.99 postage which I had paid. eBay explained that there was no facility not to reimburse fully as the goods had not been received. The issue of fault appeared irrelevant.

I made an eBay account today with the intention of selling some old games. However within ten minutes of creating the account I received another email stating I have been banned permanently due to suspicious activity. There hasn’t been any activity. The account has only just been created!!! I attempted to send an email in response to query this and received an email back advising that I needed to speak on live chat however after trying this was then advised that I could not speak to anyone as my account is banned! Absolutely useless! I’ve been banned and then because of their mistake I now cannot speak to anyone to resolve. Not only that but it was banned permanently making the account totally useless. The company seriously needs to review their procedures and employees working in these areas as they seem to be banning accounts for the sake of it. After looking online I’ve seen that multiple people have also had this issue and also cannot resolve it. It’s a catch 22. I want to resolve this as I have not done anything wrong and cannot let this lie as I want a resolution.

Having used eBay for over 15 years, many via the app I have enjoyed the experience bar a few gripes along the way.
The recent changes in past few weeks that force you to select which PP option you want is annoying and poorly rolled out.
I only use PP and have no issues with others wanting more options but why can it not be set as default? Sometimes I have to enter my email and password for PP at checkout, other times Password only, other times it’s Face ID. The system never remembers my details (despite clicking for me to do so) and means I am having to click and enter my details 3 or 4 times if I order multiple items! Glitch that is easy to remedy. Get on it eBay developers.
Also please stop pushing sellers in the USA to the U.K. I want to default to U.K. only, not global. If I chose to order from China I will but why on earth is EBAY U.K. now pushing sellers in the States for basic products. Taxes, shipping times, hassle means the USA is not an option.
Please let us default location not having to keep selecting for every search! Annoying and useless IMHO.
My last gripe is fees on postage and shipping as a seller. Losing 10% on shipping prices when they are often predefined is cheeky - please give private sellers a chance to compete with business sellers by offering sensible P&P prices that are not taxed at 10% then more so by PP.
All round a good platform for selling items but frustrated by poorly rolled out platform updates.

New Version Totally Useless, I’ve Deleted App!

I have used this eBay app for several years as an experienced seller. The recent ‘New Version in November 2020’ is a complete disaster. It has become impossible to use. For instance, I click on ‘My Messages’ and select a message to view, which loads up a white (blank) screen! My eBay Feed of ‘Saved Searches & Saved Sellers’ is now reduced to less than a half-screen width featuring minuscule photo’s of items for sale, and the listing titles, which on the previous version you could see by touching a photo in the eBay Feed is no longer an option. This was a handy feature as it was previously possible to check the make or size etc of an item at a glance, without having to click on, and go into every listing. This new version is not an improvement at all, in my experience it is the worst version in the last (approximately) ten years and I have finally deleted the app as I don’t like junk on my devices.

As a seller and a buyer, I understand from both sides how things should work.
However when eBay probably the biggest auction platform in the world, leave me and my selling goods wide open to fraudulent action I immediately lose faith. A buyer duped eBay and in turn stole my goods. In short a fraudulent thief claimed a full refund from what he claims was wrongly described item ( pure fabrication! And lies!) I agreed to a full refund, so as not to cause more grief to myself, knowing I could easily resell the item. However eBay took back the payment from my PayPal account and paid the fraudulent thief the full amount before checking he had returned the item to me? And guess what he never has? What a surprise! So now the fraudulent thief has my goods and all his money back. Do you think eBay allow or even make it possible for me the innocent seller the opportunity to have my case listened to. No is the answer! No back up! No recall! And no support! Not good enough eBay!

The App I use is great and I have no issues with it at all other than sometimes I can’t contact the Seller to ask a routine question and have to use the traditional eBay site which offers that option. I find my App is clearer to use though so apart from this inconvenience I have complete enjoyment with it. I do find loading up certain information and the wait for this to be an irritation but am not sure where that stems from and therefore it maybe some other areas are responsible for slow loading at times. I rate eBay very very highly and would like to thank them for giving us such a wonderful shopping experience. I would like a more obvious way of contacting eBay when my purchases go wrong and this year there has sadly been a number of such experiences.

Although having an account for only a few years, it is a selling and buying site I thoroughly enjoy using.
There have been times when I sense that eBay trust sellers less than buyers, even now I have a neutral mark against my selling record which is quite undeserved.
As I only use an iphone for all my purchases sales and photographs there are certain things I am unable to do namely, send invoices, a programme for invoicing would greatly assist. P. Laskey. A further point stock answers to my problems are less than satisfactory. When asked why I had withdrawn a camera after it had been bought, I wanted to say the customer was an idiot, which , of course, he/she was, in refusing to open a dialogue but, you stock answers could not address this matter.
I compliment my on site photographs which adequately show my sale items, however, when some “Noddy” in your organisation decides to remove the background it has the complete opposite effect in what you are attempting to achieve, and, destroys the integrity of my photographs. At times , not only is background removed but Photograph as well.

It used to be great and I do still use it, but it really is buyer beware these days. So much stuff is being listed as UK seller when they are in China or others Asian countries. It is just plain fraud and eBay couldn’t care less, no option to report the seller and if you do go out of your way to do so, the response from eBay is essentially “so what” which can be bore out by just how prevalent it now is. If the goods are faulty or damaged from one of these sellers of course they don’t want the goods back but they don’t want to refund either and will start by offering 10% of the value and take as long as they can to reply to anything. Just makes the whole experience a drudgery.
As far as the app itself, works fine on iPhone but just constantly crashes on iPad Pro, I have 70% of my memory available, always update the OS and my apps as soon as available, I’ve done full resets and started again, still it crashes, every 15 minutes eBay app shuts down and I have to start again, so if I’m half way through a search for items I have to relaunch the app and start the whole search again...... more tedious than typing this review!! eBay used to be great, sometimes it still is, but as I use the iPad Pro for 90% of shopping having an app that crashes for almost 2 years, yeah I shop elsewhere most of the time now. Shame really.

This is a nice app to use to go shopping on as well during this pandemic but we just bought a electric car/scooter to help get places quicker and easier than walk 5 miles there and back but we called in because we were supposed to get a 50% off discount for it but we clicked it and went to check out to purchase it WITH the 50% discount but later on looking at our item we realised we didn’t get the discount thinking it was a mistake but called in to make sure it’s gone through but end up being told we didn’t do it when we did and there was something else to do to get our discount but we clicked it. It’s an honest mistake that we didn’t know there was something else to do we purchased that very item with the discount so we still should get it because we did click for it and if you did allow us to still get our discount we would of given you a 4 star or even a 5 star rating this is just one of the things at eBay that needs to be sorted out for customer services

I’ve been waiting for three years plus for eBay to update their App to make it easier for phone and tablet users to buy and sell. Out if date and not really fit for purpose anymore it prides itself on being fair and transparent in its policies, it’s NOT.
It allows IRA items to be sold, whilst condemning anything with a swastika. It decides whether your goods are right or not, despite having categoric proof that an item is genuine. It doesn’t allow you to sell golly badges if you use the word golly, but it’s OK to use the words gollly, golli, gollie, wolligog. It shill bids you up, telling you not to lose an item because the next bid up is the other bidders highest. It doesn’t allow paintball guns to be sold but you can sell paintballs. Basically it is a hypocritical site that makes it impossible to contact anyone directly or at least makes it VERY difficult to do.
It also tries to force the selling policy onto sellers, so that they have to OPT out of taking offers on an item EVERY TIME. It dictates postal methods. It does not allow sellers to save more than eleven items for later sales so that you HAVE to go for (at a fee) scheduled listings. It also puts the buyer over the seller and believes their version of events against the seller in any dispute.
For these reasons, but there are many, many more - eBay is corrupt.
It’s time they cleaned up their act.

I have a suggestion for the ebay team:
When people list an item and a buyer looks but doesn’t watch or purchase etc. how about if there was a pop up that asks why they weren’t interested? That way the seller could revise their listings to sell quicker or gain more interest.
I have seen many items on eBay that are badly photographed, badly described, too high/unreasonable postage and sometimes I want to message the seller and ask them for better photos etc. I have asked re postage in the past and have received rather unpleasant responses. This way; it can remain anonymous and constructive all at the same time. Plus if it’s optional why they aren’t interested in the item, the buyer can either fill it out or not..
There could be a drop down to ask why, with areas you can click such as too high postage, not detailed enough photos, not enough information on listing and so. Not only will the seller gather constructive feedback in order to improve their listing, but eBay can gather insight too as to why people just skip certain items that are listed.

I loved the eBay app. It was easy to use. A quick way to view your account and your sales. As of last week though, I wish I could incinerate it. I’m frustrated and extremely annoyed, especially with the number of calls I have had to make to sort the issues I have been having and they’re still not fixed. I had a double sale go through on the app when I purchased an item. Even though the offer should have been cancelled by my purchasing it at full price. I asked to cancel. The seller cancelled. It didn’t cancel on the app and I got a non payment mark against me. Hence the start of the phone calls. I messaged the seller. They promised it had been cancelled. eBay cancelled. The app carried on with an unpaid mark on my page. It’s still showing even now. I’ve deleted the app several times and it’s still there. Then there’s the sale. The sale where I got promotion I didn’t ask for. The sale I’ve been charged twice for. The sale that’s still showing on my total. I would call again, but I’m all called out. The help desk have been great but they can’t solve these issues either. So I’m stuck with these issues until they go out of date or the month resets.
Also, please do a multi delete in the bag/ basket section. Deleting one at a time and having to start from the top again is exhausting and extremely annoying. If a seller is abroad please don’t state UK. If only so delivery dates can be exact.

Selling - Drafts?

I like eBay and have used it for a long time. However over the last few days I’ve made drafts of all of the things I wanted to sell. I made around 25 listings and drafted them so that I could list them properly all at once. To my surprise, when I went into drafts only the last 7 are there. I looked this up having not read anything about this before and found out that you can only have 7 drafts at one time.
Not anywhere did it ever tell me this information on the app when I was doing it and not once did it mention anything when learning how to sell items. I’ve now been left angry and frustrated as I now have to go back and make about 20 listings all over again, and waste what’s probably going to be another two evenings, thanks to information not being put across to me before hand. Why is this not mentioned when learning how to sell an item? I have to say I’m very annoyed and disappointed.
Update: the drafts that disappeared for me appeared back once I had listed the first 7 that were there, although this was a relief to me and cancels and most of my issues, this information was never put across to me and so I wasn’t to know this, hence my initial frustration.

I almost always use eBay when buying items for home and/or Car. Other internet providers can sometimes be much more expensive than eBay. Why pay so much more when you can save a lot of money on eBay? I have had the occasional dodgy item when purchasing from eBay but there has never been a problem returning any item and receiving a refund but this problem has occurred very few times.
When not shopping on the internet finding items for a similar price is becoming more and more difficult owing to the current political situation.
I am disabled so shopping on eBay is very convenient and much easier for me to have purchases delivered rather than wandering around shops and not finding what you want. Whereas eBay allows me to look at items which I am interested in in my own time and at my leisure.

I’ve been using this app for years with no complaints, in fact I was very happy with it until recently it started crashing all the time. I usually spend atleast 10min on it at a time and after some time of searching and scrolling through items of interest, it will just suddenly freeze and then shuts down and my iPhone goes back to home screen.
Other apps work just fine, I say this because at first I thought that maybe I’ve got too many apps and my phone is overloaded but I deleted a few to free up space but still have this issue only with eBay app. It’s annoying because I have to start my search all over again when I open it again.
It’s only in the last few weeks it’s started this so maybe a recent update ruined it otherwise everything else is good and I’m happy that now I can see all my previous purchases, as far back as even 2yrs.
One more issue though is that under purchases it says I’ve got 1 unpaid item but when I check and as far as I know I’ve paid everything. I haven’t had any complaints from sellers - I usually pay immediately to avoid forgetting.

I have noticed recently we are buying goods and they are saying they are UK sellers when you go into their feedback and it history you find out they are from places like the Philippines! I ordered the steering wheel cover recently to be messed about with delivery to find out its not even in this country and they are selling from Liverpool as really they are from the Philippines! That is okay if I wanted to buy from a foreign country but I did not I ordered with these people because they was from UK! Then I have another one I bought lightbulbs for my car to find out that the person selling them at selling the wrong ones yet I still have to pay return postage as I find disgusting that you allow this as I will be left out of pocket and you wonder why people are stopping buying on eBay! Then you make it so difficult to open a dispute that it puts people off the small amounts which is disgusting it should be very simple to open a dispute and get the problem sorted it’s like if you do not want to sort out problems you would rather let the sellers rip people off and you just carry on having your pay day out of it! It’s about time you had a review of the way people are selling on eBay and ripping people off you will be the losers in the end as people will stop buying which I know a lot of people I have already they all say they are sick of getting ripped off.

The app used to be brilliant to list quickly rather than firing up the pc - now it just takes longer and longer - when you list an item on buy it now it automatically has a relist auto on it costing you .35p Per relist And has good till cancelled automatically you cannot adjust it unless you go to desktop EBAY NOT EVERYONE HAS DESKTOP !! why oh why did they do this You have to go the desktop version to end the item then relist again amending all the stupid things like insisting on listing postcode and all the things above I have mentioned. You also cannot put the size of parcel it just defaults to letter as size. Talk about changing something that really used to work to something that now takes double the time !! Wish eBay would just take responsibility and fix this to help us sellers who make them an absolute fortune and make our life easier rather than harder !
Also now it shows my active items in large format making it possible to view 3 items in a column rather than smaller brief sections so you could scroll thro to see what was selling etc. ! Complete shambles every update

I’m selling by using your app every day. Recently your app update turned all things worse. You change all around either up side down to complicate not only for yourself but mostly for sellers who listed their itmes. How can you decide to remove relist button? How can you prioritise “offers”? Those things are very important for sellers but sounds like you only think about youselfs this time. Do you know how long it takes through all listings and correct all your mess just to get it right? You don’t! All this has to bo done on desktop computer and be done one by one because your app it’s completly disaster! It’s freezing, slowing down and stpping then need to be done all over again.
You don’t even imangine how much frustration pull over when I see on my listings “Yay, you can now put your offer” or something like that. The truth is if you do not recognise it on the time then no profit done this way. You are completly start to put much control on my listings and the way it should be done. So what I could say? No more ebay! I know now if you do not change it I will remove all my 400 listings and move to different site cos this is not ebay anymore. Thanks

Beginning to feel like another multi billionaire determined to get richer at the expense of others. The app since I began using it has got worse and worse. Now forced to accept offers, no choice, only an “OK” button! No “NOT OK” button? No longer an option to choose signed for international postage? What’s that all about? I want to send international parcels signed for. Listed something for sale this evening on Buy It Now and watched the duration change all by itself from 30 day’s to Good Till Cancelled and no way of changing it, even went into Safari browser on my iPhone to revise the item but still no way to change the duration to 30 days, very easy to think I am being conned into paying fees I don’t want to pay. On top of all the constant changes it seems the ebay app has a mind of its own, it seems to be able to update itself usually to something worse without me even updating the app through updates, feels like there is an ebay worker living in my phone, feels like someone is controlling my phone without my say so. Feel it’s time to look at other similar sites as constantly having to re learn what’s going on with the app is not something I want to do every day. The phone calls asking why my sales total in the app for 60 days is wrong was a complete waste of time why would a multi billion company care about the apparent little people who list the goods for sale that make their money?

Usually it’s quite easy to list an item, just put it on and apart from answering the odd question just wait till item sales or if not relist item, that was until eBay introduced offers, whilst I can see some people may like this, I don’t. Having recently listed about 30 items setting offers to OFF I later found that I was getting offers on my items, if I wanted to sell items cheaper I would have started the auction cheaper. I had to go back into my items and check each one individually had offers OFF but found whilst this worked on some items it would also revert back to offers again even though I had checked details before submitting. This has happened many times I just wonder if its all worth it as you don’t always make a lot anyways and really didn’t want to spend that amount of time on something when the return is so small. eBay needs to give the option of OFFERS in site preferences where you could set and save permanently and not have the headache of having to keep going in and changing every time you list an item. I went on to a forum to find out if there was anything I could do to stop it to find other people having the same problem, others saying it was a glitch in the system, well if it was it’s still happening and eBay need to sort it.

Most already know that there is no protection for sellers, but that extends beyond simply siding with buyers over small matters such as refunding items the seller doesn't want to accept a return on. They will use nasty tactics such as playing buyers against sellers with disgusting behaviour such as telling me (seller) to wait 14 days for an item that I was expecting back - that the seller had sent to an old address due to the eBay system allocating a 9-year old address to my returns address - and then claim that I had not received it so to have a decision made in my favour. The same supervisor goes on to suggest that the buyer may not have posted the item, despite the buyer giving proof of postage. The supervisor ( Chloe from the Ireland office) goes in to detail about how the receipt could have been paid for but the item not posted and how she had heard of that happening before. Meanwhile, the buyer also gets on the phone to eBay, and they tell him that it was I that had made the mistake re the address. The above behaviour (accusing an innocent buyer of buying the postage but not sending the item and playing us against each other) all the while the mistake is by eBay themselves, who refuse to accept responsibility is DISGUSTING AND i will be making a formal complaint and taking the matter further.

I’ve used Ebay for a few years now and on the whole it’s my preferred buying & selling site.
It’s not super easy to contact someone when you need to speak with regards an issue, but overall I always get fair treatment and if I think about my problems logically I usually can sort things out myself. I recently had an issue with a nasty buyer whereby I had to accept negative feedback due to not being able to discuss with a live person. This will significantly impact on my selling ability but I shall not be put off by one (actually two) bad experiences. My other issue is I’m struggling to get my location updated from Newcastle to Newcastle Under Lyme (approx 200 miles difference in location.
Great buying medium but the selling side sometimes feels a little saturated and harder to sell. Once you have reduced something to get a sale then paid eBay fees and PayPal fees it’s not worth selling cheaper items.

Honestly, use Facebook’s Market Place or Gumtree (although Gumtree is owned by eBay). EBay’s fees are ridiculously high and as a seller you literally have zero protection. Case in point? ...I recently sold a pair of trainers on eBay. 2 days later the buyer wanted to know where they were. I said they’d been posted and to please be patient. He opened a case against me on eBay and as a result PayPal held back £25 of MY money (cost of shoes and postage) and I couldn’t use PayPal until I paid it. LUCKILY the buyer received the shoes and after about 4 messages from me he closed the case. But if he hadn’t, I would have lost the shoes AND he would have automatically been refunded if I hadn’t have paid the money back myself. Disgusting rules.
Also, you lose too much money selling and the app keeps messing up (like now I can’t list anything as it says my eBay and PayPal aren’t linked which they are!) The website isn’t any better (you can’t even mark something as posted on the web site).
Customer service is also horrendous. Seriously, sell anywhere else but here. I’m only here now to shift some things quick because I’m moving. I loath using eBay though for it!

The app has no access at all to your user account, you can't get into your bill, balance or any of that other really useful stuff.
Also be careful selling, if you choose to accept refunds or not it doesn't matter, eBay forces you to accept anything and everything back despite the sellers reasoning. Part of eBay's buyer protection, the sellers get screwed over. Which is ironic as they are the ones making eBay money?! Sold one item, seller used it for 3weeks then decided to return it on the grounds that the price had gone down on it in the last week and he'd decided to send mine back and re-buy the item slightly cheaper from someone else. Giving him a further month to use someone else's item before returning again for a cheaper one and so on & so on...
eBay will also force you to pay for the return postage for these items too!? Essentially letting people loan items for up to a month for free!
I know people who buy expensive camera equipment for holidays use it, take the footage off the cameras on return and then get the seller to pay to take his own used equipment back now they've no use for it...
Be careful, less your buying then feel free to screw everyone... who

I'm a Buyer & Seller and can only confirm a great experience with EBay. Some say expensive, But 99% or the time I have had value when selling and buying. On the rare occasion I have had to deal with customer service, it is truly a pleasure, they are knowledgable but also fair/understanding
Now to find a fault. The eBay APP is great, fast searching tools, fast listing ability, what a shame that on IPHONES you are unable to manage invoices correctly. This has been a issue since the start of the APP and frustratingly not resolve for what ever reason. I sell 500 items and this is a bit of a head ache. When you wish to send a invoice to combined postage for example, there is no options to do it on the APP, when you try and sign in to the classic site on my IPHONE when you have the APP active to perform this regular task, it redirects you back to APP no matter how much you scream and shout at your phone, it just refuses.
There it is, the only complaint.. So amazing all round. well done EBAY for continuing to offer such a great product and customer service,

Having been an e bay customer now for many years, I feel I must drop you a quick line with my general opinion of this service.
Overall I have purchased many great items from e bay, and generally have been very pleased with every purchase I have made. As an avid watch collector I have amassed rather a large collection, I think my last count was 73, and still growing!. Some of the watches purchased have been real bargains, some of which have been sold as not working, which I have gone on to repair with little cost, and have had outstanding results!. It has now turned into a real hobby for me being disabled, e bay has given me a real purpose in life, and has gone on to give me a fantastic hobby. I can only imagine my collection will continue to grow and grow which hopefully after my passing, my collection can be sold, and the money raised should make a substantial legacy to be left to my grandchildren. So thank you e bay for not only giving me a great hobby, and enjoyment in my old age, but more importantly a legacy for my grandchildren. Ian.

I had remained on on version 3.4 because the version they replaced it with was dire. 3.4 was simple to use and straightforward. Today, I got a message from the app, saying it had expired and needed to be updated. God knows why, because it was working fine. I was apoplectic that I was being forced to make a change that I don't want to make. The new version 5 app is at least slightly better than the original replacement, hence I've given it two stars rather than one, but it is still not a patch on 3.4! It is over-complicated, poorly laid out, and I've lost all my saved categories. Listen up eBay - your app is putting me off using your service once the bids I've currently got running end. I demand that you reinstate version 3.4 or make an option in your new app to select the 3.4 layout! I struggle to understand how you have failed to listen to all the criticism you received when you first completely changed the app after 3.4 and give back your customers what they want. You're in business to make money - you do that by pleasing your customers, not angering them.

Ebay used to be great. It was flawed but it was a community and the system served the people who used the platform and in return ebay made a good profit. Now it's just a machine which is tuned more and more to extracting money from the people who use it. The seller rules and restrictions are particularly unreasonable. I was recently banned for a week for giving someone my flipping postcode. Ebay said I had violated their customer safety rules. You can't meet someone from a postcode! The buyer only wanted to get an accurate shipping quote. The truth of the matter is that they suspect everyone of trying to do deals outside ebay whether they have any evidence or not and they will find you guilty on the thinnest of pretexts.
Not only that but eBay's rules are capricious and inconsistent. What's acceptable in one transaction will get you banned in another. How are you supposed to purchase a high value item sight unseen? It's ridiculous. As far as I can see it's l about squeezing their clients for every penny and creating a climate of fear so that nobody transgresses. It's revolting. And then there's the fees. On average 10% of any sale an then a further 3% from PayPal. The sooner someone comes up with a new platform the better. My guess is we will be leaving in droves unless ebay starts looking after their customers.

I like using the app, BUT there are still some important issues eBay have to get right. Why when I put something on for sale on “BUY IT NOW” and DON’T WANT “OR BEST OFFER” does it come up anyway? I DON’T WANT LOADS OF RUBBISH OFFERS, I JUST WANT WHAT I PUT IT ON FOR!!!! VERY SNEEKY OF EBAY TO DO THAT, YOU JUST WANT PEOPLE TO SELL AT ANY PRICE SO YOU GET YOUR COMMISSION!!!!! Also when I contact a buyer after a sale it keeps stalling then times out. Very frustrating when you want to let the buyer know when you're posting the goods! When a transaction is cancelled it still appears on your eBay page for ages and you still keep getting alerts to pay! BE VERY AWARE OF CHECKING YOUR ITEMS FOR SALE WHEN PUTTING THEM ON EBAY. I SPECIFICALLY CHOSEN THE OPTION NOT TO SELL TO OVERSEAS BUYERS ON 1 ITEM. WHEN IT WAS AUTOMATICALLY RE-LISTED THOSE OPTIONS WERE CHANGED AND IT WAS ONLY WHEN I CHECKED MY PALPAL ACCOUNT THE BUYER LIVED OVERSEAS AND PAYMENT FROM THEM WAS PENDING FOR 28 DAYS, DESPITE MY 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK AND GOOD BUYER/SELLER REVIEWS! I HAD TO CALL EBAY TO ADDRESS THIS AND THEIR RESPONCE WAS CHECK YOUR ITEM LISTINGS BEFORE AND AFTER. YOU CAN’T CHANGE YOUR LISTING THOUGH ONCE YOU GET A BID YOU HAVE TO CANCEL THE LISTING AND START AGAIN! 😡

Never sure about whether I am buying a fake

Unfortunately I have lost confidence in ebay as a buyer because I have had a few fake items sent to me .
As a seller it's terrible very weighted against the seller I recently had an item professionally packed personally checked the item could not move inside the huge packing case . The item had padding of 12 inches all around it . The buyer said it was damaged on delivery . This must have been very badly handled to damage it . However I as the seller have to accept the buyer is being honest . I had insured the item . Tried to claim from Shutl the e bay courier service 5 months later despite photos , notes and phone calls they insist they cannot open the photos . These were sent in 5 different formats and I offered to send hard copies . Still no refund . Everyone else I have sent the photos to,to check compatibility, can see and open the photos . This is just a scam . E bay need to do something about it.

Why doesn’t the selling option display my active selling items? All it does is show option to sell new items and no list for what you are currently selling. I eventually found it under my profile which is a frustrating place to put it. Also why hasn’t the sellers account been put in the eBay app? so I can pay my eBay invoices easier. I have to get my laptop out just to do this. Would be so much easier..... come on eBay this is just simple things that should be in place by now!!!
Don't like how you can only delete things that you haven't left feedback on in your purchases and the things you have you cant delete! Also it's about time when you are viewing item descriptions it would work in landscape mode as well so you can zoom in on mobile app because of the small screen. Also when purchasing an item it needs the option to search the same item in the sellers feedback. So your not spending ages trying to find some review related to what you are buying!

Running the eBay app on an iPad Air with the latest iOS update. App works ok initially but then just shuts down and I am back on the IPAs home screen. This problem usually goes away when I open the eBay app a 2nd time and then seems to work ok. Not sure what this about. Apple helpline suggest I reinstalled my iOS 9 software which I did but when I reinstalled the eBay App the same problem kept reoccurring! Never mind.

Improved functioning - but the app still crashes occasionally but usually after I have been using it for a while. When you first open the app it seems to take several minutes to download the home page or the selling page (despite the fact that our broadband speeds are in excess of 20mb/s). Also the watching page occasionally produces icons that are miniature sizes so you cannot work out what the item is until you have clicked on it. Apart from these faults - the app is working fine!
