- instant player selection: a simple touch on the player in the top left shows an instant popup menu. Experience how fast player switching can really be.
- cached menus and album art: when you browse the artist or albums menu, their content (with images) is saved. On every subsequent visit the lists are instantly available until the next rescan automatically invalidates the cache.

A great reliable app which I’ve used since the original a
Squeezebox touch came out and both are still delivering trouble free use every day. The interface is very intuitive and user friendly but you can get into the guts of the program as well if you have that knowledge.
I have 800 plus cds saved in lossless WAV format stored in my pc HDD and also backed up on external WD drives as well.
I regularly add new music to it and it is simple and quick to update the database. Well done everyone who works or worked on this app. You known your stuff!

Having used this app for the past few years, I can honestly say it's the best app on my iPad.
Only recently have I had a problem with the app crashing but with the help of Stefan this problem was resolved very quickly - the problem turning out to be over sized artwork that had been applied to vinyl tracks that I had added to iTunes.

When first installed wouldn't ever connect.....lots of messing about and it some times connects then pops up with the connection error message...impossible to navigate music folders on my server as not all of my music has tags. All in all its worse than the logitech free software as that does navigate my folders and very rarely drops connection. Looks like its because of the many folders I have and lack of tags. If you want to browse using the folder view this program is not for you

It also appears to be extremely reliable; I've been using it for about a year now. Not once has it crashed, hung, or refused to connect.

This is one of the apps I use the most on the iPad. I have a boom box and a radio and this app makes it really easy to control the distribution of my music stored on my NAS to both devices.
Then I can also shift on to last.fm and listen to a wider selection or maybe Internet radio. It makes the whole thing really easy. Been using it for over one year.

Purchased this as there are 1 or 2 things that annoy me on ipeng, glad I did as i definitely prefer squeezepad, keeps things simple and runs very quickly when browsing your library, I like how you can see the playlist building up on the side as your adding the tracks.
Support is excellent as well, I hadn't seen the settings button in the bottom right hand corner to change the way tracks are added to the playlist so emailed the support address, within about 10mins I had a reply with instructions

...who also have an iPad. I have experience with iPeng, Squeezebox Commander and usual Squeezeserver interfaces. This is better than all of them for operating my network of 4 Squeezeboxes. It connected and set up very easily and makes a perfect remote. Album art is displayed beautifully and browsing is simple and speedy. Toggling between zones is a cinch as is synchronising multiple players. The additional function of using iPad as an additional player should be of interest to anyone who likes to listen to hi quality FLAC lossless files. With the addition of an iPad dock, this is the only way that I am aware of to listen to FLAC files across the network wireless to the iPad and then utilising the dock USB out for direct digital output. If you are fortunate enough to have the superb B&W MM1 speakers you can stream to the iPad, then use USB into the B&W internal DAC. It sounds stunning.

For anyone that has the Logitech Squeezebox system, this app is a must. The design looks fantastic on the iPad. I can sit with my iPad and select my songs for my playlists and re-arrange songs by simply dragging and dropping. When I am away from home I can now stream my music over the Internet and listen to it through my iPad. This last feature does require you to be running your own squeezebox server though. Basically, this app has got to be the best one in my collection. Well worth the money. To the developer - keep up the excellent work. Thanks.

The reviews all claim this is the best Squeezebox controller for iPad, but they are wrong. On the new iPad (aka iPad 3) all the text and graphics are very blocky and clearly are not using the high res display. You can't operate the iPad in portrait mode because SqueezePad does not rotate it's user interface. But worst of all there seems to be no way of doing the equivalent of pressing + on the Squeezebox Duet Controller to display track info, I do this a lot to get to More Info to see the bit rate and show the tags.
I advise spending your money on iPeng HD instead, I bought that after buying SqueezePad and found that iPeng HD does everything I want and more.

Bought this app to control my squeezebox network from the ipad, with 5 receivers and radios spread across various rooms at home. Also bought the in-app option to turn ipad into an extra receiver.
The interface looks very stylish, and the album artwork looks simply stunning on Squeezepad. All the controls are precisely as laid out on my hand held controller, so no new menus to learn. I also love the direct link to Wikipedia to discover more about any artist.
Best compliment was that we enjoyed a superb New Years Eve using music selected and played by my daughter and her friends using the Squeezepad app, and everyone got their requests played within seconds.
Highly recommended.

I purchased this after being thoroughly uninspired by Logitech's offering. First impressions were great, encouraging me to access my music collection with more ease than ever before. I then tried to stream to iPad upgrade, which worked a treat.
I had a minor stumble when the iPad stopped streaming after plugging it into my Zeppelin dock, but on reporting to Stefan, he went as far as pointing me to the specific page in the B&Wmanual (with links) to enable streaming support - nothing to do with SqueezePad.

I purchased both the app and add-on to use the IPad as a player, works great, fluid well thought out. But there are some bugs.
I noticed consistent sync issues when playing multiple players.
The app has crashed a few times when trying to re-sync multiple players.
I'm using Vortexbox as my squeeze player.

Fantastic app - works exactly as it should, by far the best remote for the Squeezebox. Only slight criticism is that downloading album art every time I select a new song causes a dropout in the audio, but that could well be combination of Squeezepad, my NAS and my router.

I was a bit dubious about buying this app at first as it seemed quite expensive - although to be fair no more expensive than other similar apps.
My fears were completely unfounded as it connected automatically to my squeezebox server and just works beautifully.
A much quicker and more intuitive interface than the default squeezebox server web site and so much nicer than scrolling through pages of songs with the remote control.
Seems expensive at first glance, but it is well worth the money.

Worked perfectly. Very intuitive and set up automatically, just asking for a password for the network. Much better way of controlling the squeeze box than the normal controller. You can try out playing music on the ipad itself. That worked for mee perfectly too.

The playback on the iPad is very flakey on an authenticated Squeezebox Server, still get 'no audio stream' but sometimes plays. When it does work, it is very nice but I would have liked to have seen the standard Airplay buttons appear to direct audio output from within the app rather than use the iOS facility.
I have had this application for a few months and was quite excited to see that it supported Playback in the latest release. However, I tried it on about 25 or so different random tracks and not one worked issuing the error 'No audio stream'. Not good.
That aside it is a competent app, although I prefer and tend to use iPeng more. Once the above works, I may switch back again !

Great to see another quality app for controlling your Squeezebox. Love the simplicity of this one but it does everything you need to access and play your music with full playlist management. Would be great to see more control over Slimserver itself to avoid having to use a browser. Maybe that'll come later. The app is locked in landscape mode which seems a bit odd but I can live with that. Highly recommended.

With this app on the iPad, controlling my two squeezeboxes is a doddle. Very stable and with the "always on" set, it is perfect to get the background of what is playing. From music from our house macs to Internet stations like live365 everything works brilliantly. And, no, i am not one of the developers!

Haven't used any other apps for this purpose but see no need - very happy with this app, it works very well. Makes browsing my collection a real pleasure!
Special mention for the support I received when I had a problem (all my fault!). The developer was very helpful and the issue was resolved (I was running an old version of server). So thanks!

An excellent way to control the squeeze server...the interface is easy to use and it boots a lot faster than the logitech remote. First class!

Does exactly what it says on the tine, and well. One caveat: it doesn't seem to allow the most obvious use of the screen space: current playlist on one side and current track information (artwork, title, album, artist etc.) on the other. Like most people, I rarely interact with the menus, but often want to see what's playing and what's coming up next. Instead you get menus on the left, track info on the right, and the playlist slides out up over the top of the track info. (So needs a way of sliding the menus off the left of the screen, just like you can slide the playlist off the right.)

SqueezePad is a great app.
It does a great job of making controlling Squeezebox players very easy on the iPad.
At the moment I rate it with 4 stars, as there is still room for improvement:
- a better look, it is a bit plain at present
- a dedicated UI for changing sync settings rather than relying on the standard menus
- a portrait mode with drop down menu
I can't wait to see how it develops over time.

Excellent application. May be room for improvement but 5 stars nevertheless!! Good interface and commands responsive, no re-buffering problems while caching album art between commands unlike iPeng app.
