Is it a star or the planet Mars? Knowing what's up in your night sky is now effortless with Sky Guide. Hold your iPhone or iPad up and Sky Guide automatically aligns itself to the stars above you—no setup required!
Have you ever wished you could recognise the constellations but didn't want to study those paper star charts? Sky Guide's interactive experience makes learning your way around the sky intuitive and fun.
Whether you're in search of the constellation Virgo, the Andromeda Galaxy or the next big meteor shower, Sky Guide is jam-packed with information and rich graphics that will satisfy the most curious minds.
Voyage to the past or future with cinematic time controls. Know where the Moon will be later in the evening so you can capture that perfect photo. See what the sky looked like the moment you were born or be an eyewitness to history's greatest comets.
It's a star! It's a plane! No, it's a satellite! Sky Guide features hundreds of bright satellites for you to identify and track. You can also receive notifications whenever the International Space Station flies over your location.
Use Sky Guide anywhere—on your evening dog walk, camping trips or in the classroom. Sky Guide works with or without Wi-Fi, cellular service or GPS, so everything is at your fingertips no matter where you go.
Additional Features:
- Huge stellar catalog: 2.5 million stars!
- Notification Centre Widget: At-a-glance essentials including rise and set times for the Sun, Moon and planets.
- Filter: X-ray the sky and explore invisible wonders (now enhanced with 3D Touch).
- Red night mode: Preserve your dark-adapted eyesight.
- Apple Watch: Sky Guide can send you a notification when an event is about to happen in the skies above your location, like when the International Space Station is due to fly over. You can also keep tabs on the latest solar activity or add our super-accurate Moon Complication to your Apple Watch face.
Optional Features:
- Sky Guide SUPERMASSIVE. This extensive add-on gives you access to incredible high definition zooming, 50× larger star and deep sky catalogues, and exclusive cinematic tours. SUPERMASSIVE includes a free two-week trial followed by an auto-renewing annual subscription. (See In-App Purchases section for the price available in your country. Absolutely fantastic app, I use it to track the orbit of the international space station so I can watch it fly over my home, and it tells me in advance when the planets will be visible. Welcome to the stars!!!

Worked once, now phone/app thinks what I am seeing is behind me. Deleted and downloaded again. Still doing the same. (iPhone XS)
Still does not work. Feb 2nd 2019
Still not working. About 100 degrees out.
What’s wrong. Compass works. Sat nav works. This app does not.
I’ll try it out the magnetic case when it’s not cloudy. Could be the cause of the inaccuracy

Love it.

This is a great app, it’s very simple to use and proved effective and accurate in a wide variety of locations around the world. Great for planning and while on location with enough detail to cater for lots of uses - my primary use is for locating the Milky Way, as well as integrating the International Space Station in Astro photography images, tracking meteor showers and the occasional comet - my go to Astro app - keep up the excellent work

I just paid for this app. I’m in Mauritius, I just watched the sun set, yet this app is showing me the sun high up in the sky and the stars bear no resemblance to what I can see. I thought I’d paid for a better app than the free one I already have but at least the free one is somewhat accurate. How do I get a refund?

Sky Guide never ceases to amaze and deliver with every update. It’s truly the finest night sky app there is.
The new Tonight section with light pollution map is the icing on the cake. It would be good to be able to expand the map to full screen and show rise/set times of the moon and other planets when you tap them, but it is still a welcome and much used addition.
A perfect app from Fifth Star Labs. Money well spent.

As a Year 10 student who is never really involved or interested with space or the universe, I have to admit that after buying and downloading this app I have become so much more interested in what’s out there. This app is absolutely brilliant, whether you are in your room or outside, it is interesting nevertheless. Firstly, it was absolutely breathtaking at the visuals, all the constellations are visible. I find the compass feature amazing, you are able to face any direction and it will show which stars are there at this exact moment.
This app also tells you when approximately the sun rises or reaches its peak, as well as other stars and planets too. Once you click on the star, it provides really interesting information to read and you’ll find yourself reading for hours and being intrigued.
News is also provided from the space station, and you are able to see upcoming comets and eclipses and when the moon will be full.
Every penny was worth spending on this app, and you can joy even without the secondary subscription. Definitely recommend if you are bored and looking for something to amaze you, or you’re just simply intrigued by our universe.

I have used this app for ages as a reference for star naming and spotting but with the latest update this app is just incredible. Well done to the team behind this app, the new features like the calendar and particularly the dark sky map make this invaluable to the night photographer. If I could give this review 10 stars I would!

Amazingly detailed information on a beautifully designed app, I love the fact that it sends you alerts of the international space station passes and shows you exactly where to look, it really is a superb app and it is the only one you need.
I’ve been using this this app for a few years and can’t fault it, it’s simply the best I’ve found.

A seriously spectacular app! I’ve had this for quite a while now, I use it to navigate through the night sky, determine what celestial object it is I see, and just get to know the universe we live in. Recently subscribed to Supermassive and it is truly mesmerising, well worth it for only £10 a year, considering how much this app has to offer even without Supermassive. A perfect app for anyone who loves astronomy.

Still the best

What a great app this is. I have found great pleasure in roving the night sky with this. I used to use paper maps to see celestial objects when I was a kid. This is such a pleasure compared. Also tonight I watched the International Space Station sore overhead brighter than Jupiter exactly when and where the app predicted. I can recommend to anyone who has a sense of wonder for the big big picture of what is up there in the sky.

When we go camping, when the kids are asleep and the fire burns. I get comfy under the stars with this app. The ethereal music soothes me as my mind excites itself at the discovery of what is up there. From constellations to space junk, I find this app a companion and a guide. Undeletable

You can’t buy a better app than this for astronomy, at whatever level you’re at. The new AR version is marvellous, especially for finding Mercury low in the twilight sky. Thanks and keep it up.
