Love this game. You do get addicted quite easily though and an hour has passed before you know it. There are faults on the haunted park in legend and master levels when you have to find duplicate items and there’s only one there (even using the find tool) which is annoying as there is no way you can win those games. I like the new features of friends who charge locations appearing on your screens and have enjoyed the last few events. If the glitches could be resolved would give 5 stars!
Update: still a good game and I’m still playing it. Few glitches still but not as many as before. Had issues with buying rubies and event tokens but was resolved by contacting support in a few days. Disappointed some of the old locations have disappeared as I was enjoying those but I guess it makes way for new sites.

Great graphics and game but aspects annoying. Since playing for a while the number of tools given as rewards has fallen and when fighting monsters if you get to choose a chest you should have a two in one chance of getting a tool or tools but you are lucky if you get a tool every tenth time and worse in upper city where I have yet to get the best reward and have played from the start of the monsters being put up there. Also chests that you previously could buy now take forever to get.

This is by far one of the most entertaining and enjoyable games available on the App Store. I have been playing this for a few years now and each new update is a new challenge. The graphics are amazing. I do buy gems now and again, I figure if you want to see improvements in gameplay the developers should be rewarded in some way. I hate to admit this but if I don’t get my daily dose of Hidden City I’m lost. I don’t remember when I started playing it but now I can’t stop. My commute journey is long so it’s a great time for me to play. I hate how the timer starts ticking loudly and then speeds up as you’re about to fail a task but love it when you beat it by an hairs breath.

This game is really enjoyable with regular updates to maintain interest. One big problem is the cost to play it in the UK, the cost in GBP is higher than in US dollars which is grossly unfair, and whilst it used to cost relatively the same, eg £1.50 for a small stack of rubies against $1.99, now, the price is £1.99 (GBP) but still only $1.99 US. This makes it unfairly expensive in the UK. The game is so addictive, that it doesn’t need to be so expensive. Come on guys - reduce the greed and get the price back down!!

I hate not being able to turn off the timer. As an elderly person my eyes aren’t that great and I sometimes need a little extra time to find all the hidden objects. The worst thing about this game however is the cost. Every scene takes jewels and energy points, and many need power ups or boosters to complete. When you run out it requires real money to replace them. They have the extra cheek to offer “gift boxes” that you have to pay to open. The game follows a story which is interesting but very slow to progress. There are much better games available for free, and I will be deleting this one

I’ve returned to this game after well over a year and pleased to see it remembered my progress and the improvement on the graphics really noticeable. I can’t afford to buy extras so my progress through the game is slow, but I really enjoy it.
I LOVE that there are variations to standard hidden objects version - such as needing to find two versions of same object or differences between mirror version of the same picture. And I love the events. The attention to detail in the picture of the city is wonderful.
My only peeve is, because I am dyslexic, I REALLY struggle with levels where the object name’s letters are all mixed up. I keep repeatedly failing those. Though the words spelt backwards I’m great at 😂

It’s addictive but also playable for a few minutes at a time when you want/can. Games are varied & fun, short & sweet but plenty of them. Hugely detailed hidden object scenes, lovely artwork & a wide variety of search modes & gameplay. Easy to play without buying the in-app purchases. On the note of in-app purchases, the best thing about this is the lack of pop-ups & demands to spend money, rate the game, check out our other games, etc. in fact I manually had to seek out the option to even write this review and I chose to spend some money on the game precisely because of the lack of demand to do so.
All in all, it’s an ideal time-passer, enjoyable & well made. Easy to play, simple to understand but not simple enough that it it’s boring. Ideal download for your phone to keep you occupied on a lunch break, waiting for a bus or at the hairdressers!

Wow what is actually going on in this game? Confusing and distracting! There’s stuff all over the place and new things popping up constantly. Difficult to actually see the main goal of the game also the scenes are way too full. Writers could take a leaf from June’s Journey and help the player build up their memory on each scene as at the moment I find the game totally annoying and manic. Deleted again. Gave it a second chance but won’t be downloading it again. Bonkers.

Along with constant pressure to purchase items that are supposedly on big sale, that are really hardly any different price to normal, the app frequently does not up date. Tried everything suggested and contacted the maker, with no response.
The game is fun to play and puts pressure on the player to find hidden items in the ever growing complexity of the game.
It’s a pleasant change to have an update that allows a few easier levels for a while.
Loads of different locations to explore entirely your own choosing whether to follow the investigation or simply search your favourites. Brilliant idea of a game, even better if the teething issues got sorted.

A great game but it keeps freezing on me. You use your energy points and other valuable items you have either worked hard to earn or paid to access individual games for then the game freezes and you have to close the app (no other way out). When you go back it there is no option to reopen an unfinished game or get your energy points and other items back. Bit of a swindle. NB, I’m playing on a brand new, 4th gen iPad Air so it is not my old hardware that this the issue.

I love this I’ve played it for months but for the last few days the game has been cutting out going back to my phones home screen right after I’ve completed a game and used my energy and won it all !!But when I go straight back on it’s not given me anything of what I’ve won..

As a a hidden object game alone it offers a great range of scenes and locations. The quest-based approach to progressing in the game is the best feature. But by far the most rewarding aspect is the appearance of back to back seasonal events with ever more challenging goals to achieve.
The downside is the fact that inevitably there is a need to make in-app purchases of token-like items to progress. This could become expensive over time.

There’s lots to do, but very little energy or opportunity to do it without spending either real cash or hard won coins or rubies. In order to get coins or rubies or other ‘useful tokens and objects’, or to progress in the main game, the player needs to participate in mini games. The mini games enable the player to collect tokens in order to play the ‘higher’ level games with the ‘rewards’. There are numerous options for purchasing tokens with cash - as others have said, the game crudely tries to entice players to spend money at every opportunity. The limited life span means that players are forced to go away from the game whilst waiting for their energy to be replenished. If the idea is that players just spend money instead of actually playing the game; then it’s a hit.

I like the graphics and feel of this game, and generally enjoy playing. It is frustrating that rubies take so long to earn when they are so helpful, would be better if you could use coins to buy them or swap artefacts for them. Easy to get drawn in to purchasing things, which I don’t like at all. Annoying when story specific tokens you have purchased are replaced by keys and not tokens for next story; won’t be doing that again. All in all a great game, just don’t get drawn in to purchasing anything!

Great game, really addictive and so enjoyable at first but gets so hard it is impossible to complete quests without purchasing tools. Such a shame I know the company have to make money but I would rather pay upfront than keep being prompted by special offers 78% off, Philosophers stone get double rubies etc. I unfortunately spent more than I could afford and so reluctantly I am forced to delete it. If you can manage not to put yourself in debt then it is a good game but do take care.

This is a really addictive game combining stunning graphics with HOS and various other puzzles which is exactly what I love. It is a pity that levels become so hard that the gamer becomes almost unable not to purchase rubies or tools etc... to keep on playing and winning. It’s great game & I have lots of fun playing it but each scene takes up a lot of energy & it is not restored quickly. Hence you can’t play as often as you like. Sometimes you loose out in special quests coz you cannot finish it in time due to lack of energy. Also, there are no rules or guidelines to help & I still haven’t figured out how to help friend or ask for their help. All in all a great game but If the issue of energy is fixed it will be even more awesome.

Just started the game but so far very good. Could cost you a lot of money but that’s personal choice. I played the game before but got fed up with it. Didn’t seem to be getting anywhere with the artefacts but giving it a second go. So far the most annoying thing is running out of energy before you have had time to settle into playing and find what you are looking for.
You should give it a go though, you may be luckier than me and also prepared to spend real money.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. It was something different to my job and a bit of fun to wind down. You were able to play and still succeed without spending money you don’t have to spare! Cheeky, but able to come out of a game and still not loose your points. When you don’t have a lot of time, that helped. Now they have changed that. It makes it harder to finish or achieve anything without buying all their add ons! Bad form. For those with time and money it’s fine. For those of us who just wanted a change and abit of fun , you’ve ruined it! Not impressed.

I've been playing this game for a long time now, not everyday but is is something I really enjoy. The game has the best graphics. Sometimes I take time and effort to complete monthly challenge but most of the time I just log in and use up all my energy. This is supposed to be fun and I make it so. I've played many games on my iPad but this one stayed with me and I will move it to my new iPad when time comes. Love it and please do not worry about completing any quests just enjoy the game which is really good for your memory!

I am 59 yrs old female and I have been playing this game for over a year the graphics and the games are first class.
How ever trying to go back in to older levels cost far to many coins so I don’t really go back to them which is a shame because I really enjoyed playing a lot of them.
I don’t like the effect s that are on the games like night boggarts,and poltergeist

Thank you for your response, step 1 is the problem Player login is correct, password is new and correct but message says “connection to G5 network is lost “ perhaps you can assist me further.
I have been playing this game to Level 221 but I have lost contact with friends and cannot log in. I have now bought a new iPad and find that my old game is not in the cloud either. I have no idea how this happened. I have been in contact with G5 via internet and have a job no. But can’t respond as unable to reply via the game and provide the info needed. Really fed up now. Can’t bear to start all over again.

I’ve played this for years; no other game has held my attention for so long. My problem is a slow connection and the new, more frequent upgrades on iPhone and iPad. A recent upgrade took about 2 to 3 weeks to download, hardly worth the effort. Trying to download significantly slows down the performance of both devices. Can I opt out of these downloads? Or download to 1 device at a time? I really don’t want to have to delete the app.

I’ve been playing 2years now which should tell you something! I love all the mini challenges within the main monthly one.
I really dislike the fact that when you get towards the end of a monthly challenge the ‘gifts’ become rubbish...no need for that please...keep them worthwhile collecting please. Please keep up the daily tasks as well as mini challenges w relevant rewards....you’ve slipped a bit.

This is a great game but sometimes I wonder if the developers consider that all age groups could be playing. I’m 70 and love playing it (I’m level 131) but sadly like all senior people our eyesight is going and therefore some of the tiny images are very difficult to see. However the graphics are very good and I’m glad new options are brought out regularly as this is what keeps the game alive.

I love the game and have been playing it for... I don’t know how long BUT there are aspects that really annoy me. For example, after fighting a monster and you go to treasure vault you always get the worst chest first ( only 3 items and the others hold 4). Also when trying to complete one of the events, the final section gets very difficult to achieve because you have to wait for a specific mode to find the missing item. Then suddenly all the magic items needed to access the specific area seem to disappear while waiting for the mode!!! As I say, I love the game but I work all day, and cannot play the game at work and so soon I will start to lose interest if I constantly fail in the events due to prohibitively high and costly difficulty levels

This is one game which has survived over the duration. We all download games only to find them repetitive and boring after a while. Not so with Hidden City. The game is kept up to date with new and interesting stories, places and collections. You can lose a few hours though trying to keep up with all your tasks, I’ve never completed anything, but that doesn’t worry me, it’s a fun distraction and a bit more interesting than the goggle box

Love playing this game, graphics are good and it is a challenge to beat the clock. Biggest challenge I find is when the locations get changed and you are at a high level, personally it’s like starting at level one again but you’ve got to find more things. Didn’t like the fact that when an event ends and another starts you still have to get tokens to play the previous one which seems to take an extremely long time. Also getting to play monsters is very hit and miss. This said still love it.

I’ve played this game for a long time now and do find it quite addictive and time consuming. if you don’t play every day, you don’t seem to win the quest. I think you would definitely need to purchase to complete the quest fully. However in saying that, I do enjoy it. I totally agree with review by Bailey knows. I understand why you choose to show the banners as you have moved some rooms but to have them appear every time you touch the screen is frustrating. I suggest changing this so the banners come on ONLY when you load the game. I have also emailed twice now regarding fixing the friend help on the totems as I am unable to claim them since the upgrade PLEASE FIX. Love this game but this upgrade needs some tweaking. I would normally rate 5 but because of the above it gets 3.

I've been playing this for quite some time now, it chests. When I'm playing crystals which is my favourite game ( I wish you had it on its own), I'm on level 55 and find it hard to progress. It's actually so annoying to find a you are removing more blocks it is not letting you remove them until they've blocked out,so losing time, I can lose up to 5 secs before I can even start the game as it won't let me remove any squares. It is more and more frustrating that I just want to remove it and never pay it again!

Very addictive. There is no instruction as to how to play. You just have to google.
Few things which might help is to have a feature to win more coins, or gems without spending your own money. I’ve found myself getting bored at times due to having to get around this by waiting days to collect as sometimes the levels are hard to pass.
Ways to move forward when you can’t pass a level no matter how hard you try lol
Rather than find you have so many unfinished items/games.

I really enjoy playing the game but the constant pop ups advertising the other games are getting really annoying, I’ve ended up in the app store many times by accident, I understand the need for advertising but it seems every couple of rooms you go in the pop up comes up, could you not give the option of purchasing an ad free game perhaps? or at the very least minimise the ads’ ??
This is what will eventually nake me stop playing the game.

Lovely graphics, interesting challenges - the regular events add to this aspect - and very enjoyable to play. My complaints are the Crystals game, which is almost impossible to do and therefore prevents you from achieving a number of collections (this makes me suspicious that it is a deliberate ploy to persuade you to buy the missing items); the ads, unnecessary since regular emails advertising other games are sent; and the fact that the little snowmen are erratic in terms of whether you can access the coins or energy points. A comment from the producers about the rationale behind the Crystals game would be much appreciated!

I have been playing for a year now and it's the onpy game I play on a daily basis. The graphics for the last Halloween event were really hard to see and the crystal thing is an utter joke. You get one each time you level up yet if you want to open a location early it can cost from 250 crystals or more. A blatant rip off. I only ever purchase the £1.99 crystal set and that is only when I find the highway robber crystal that doubles your purchases. They have some bundles of crystals for £100! For a mobile phone game. Outrageous. I really hope they go bankrupt for being so egregiously greedy. Why not offer a free and a paid for version that requires no rip off in game purchases. I hope everyone boycots purchases bigger than £2 and boycotts the game if this continues. Some people have no morals at all.

When the new location appeared, the snowmen were giving out snowflake keys, assemblers and talisman. Now if you’re lucky you get one coin or 2 energy but most of them fall over. Also, I get notifications that there are gifts waiting and when I go to collect them nothing is there. Annoying. I also think it’s really sly to put a buy button exactly where the ok button is so if you’re too slow you end up at the buy screen. Pop ups are ridiculous now.

This game has great graphics but the constant push to buy something is getting me to the point where I am thinking of deleting the game. There is a constant barrage of ads for in-app purchases and frankly it is a very slow and boring game if you choose not to - they do everything to get you to spend money. You are also inundated with adverts for other games - not in the way that most apps do where you can choose to click on a game for a reward, but literally by blocking what you are doing all the time. On average an ad comes up every 3-4 minutes and that is insane! So in short - unless you like spending money and enjoy constant interruptions, don’t bother...

I have been playing this for at least a year and thought it was one of the best games in this genre. I even buy in-app purchases which I never do in other games. However, the ads for similar games are now sending me mad. I understand why you have to have an ad at the beginning - if I wanted to play a similar game I could use this to select a new one. But why oh why does it have to have a noisy clip nearly every time you complete a search? It’s infuriating and unnecessary and has put me off playing this. What a shame! Please, please stop these infernal, noisy, useless ads.

It's a really addictive game, if you don't have a lot of spare time then just don't bother. However if your like me and are trying to avoid all the important stuff you should be doing then go for it. There is a lot to do, maybe to much. There are like 50 quests open at one time once you've been playing for a few hours, and nowhere near enough energy to get them done. You don't win enough energy when you complete a part of the game so you end up using gems to get more energy, gems run out fast so then of course you have to either stop playing or buy more gems. This feature could get very expensive because the game is so addictive. All the mini games start off very easy and after a while get super hard, to the point I just can't win, so end up using energy without getting any back.
This game is deffo made well for the game developers, I'm sure they will make a lot of money 😂

Enjoyable and frustrating (in a good way), gets you locked-in to find stuff. However, there is too much going on at any one time. Monsters to combat, things to find, special items that enable you to find the ‘things’, bonus stuff to get released, collections to compile etc etc. Plus, it continually wants to part with your cash; parents be aware, every time you open the game it wants you to buy “rubies and coins”, these requests continue through the game and I can see younger kids spending all there pocket money!!
