Running iOS16.0.2. Noticed that messages were being grouped even though turned off. As soon as I tried toggling that setting in and off again the app terminated and now immediately terminates upon relaunch.
Offloading / reloading and uninstalling/reinstalling make no difference.
Clearly a major problem with an app update.

The latest update seems to rearrange your emails into conversations and when you try and turn that off it crashes the app! You now cannot access the app as it constantly crashes when opening and there is no way to resolve.
Seems like a critical defect that needs ti be resolved by MS now! Many people have reported this.

Since the update it continuously crashes when trying to open and can’t be used
Before this it would organise email threads between different correspondents into the same thread if the email shared the same title. This is ridiculous - I work in sales and send the same email to multiple people - I don’t want them all in one thread.
Stop messing with this app. It was perfect in 2021 and doesn’t require any adjustments

The latest Outlook bundles e-mails which I assume is to pull together all the connected conversations. This is very confusing, especially when you want to delete e-mails or send on parts of e-mails. Some folk might prefer this, but please then make this upgrade an option, not a necessity. KISS - Keep it stupidly simple please, wherever possible.

An Email app for emailing

 –
Simonised55
 –
2022-09-07
Version 4.2234.0
This App is for sending emails and receiving emails. If you want to receive emails and send emails then use this App. If you don’t want to send emails and receiving emails then don’t use this App, try using smoke signals or a telephone instead. Other Apps are available but this is the one I use because it’s installed on my phone and PC. If I had a different app installed on my devices then I would probably use a different one 🤷‍♂️
I gave this App a 5 star rating because I use it to send and receive emails and that is what it does. The only time this app stops working is if the device that it’s installed on runs out of electricity. Once the device receives electricity again the App will work.
I remember the first email I ever sent in the 90s, it was a magical experience filled with wonder and joy 🥹 the sound of the dial up modem and the smell of the burning plastic as my PC struggled with the new technology. One hour later and my friend phoned my to say he had received my Email. Ahh 😌 but I digress.
Use this app and you will be able to send and receive emails 👍

Version 4.2229.0
Outlook is the email app against which all others are judged. It does a pretty good job too. I am able to mix together or separate out half a dozen different email addresses and keep a track on all of them
I’ve put the review down to 4 stars because there seems to be an ongoing issue with Microsoft products supporting competitor infrastructure - gmail in this case and because they seem to increasingly try to make my usage pattern conform to some idea they have for how we like to view email histories. Not insurmountable as the options do exist to set it up my preferred way, but I’d prefer to get the initial option without the assumptions.

Multiple email accounts

Version 4.2218.0
Overall outlook is a great app. Managed to link my work and multiple personal email addresses with ease and notifications all worked great. If outlook knows you have other email addresses that you haven’t linked, it’ll keep mentioning that you should add them to outlook which gets annoying.
I currently use spark, and I love the way they handle the unified email inbox showing inboxes from all email addresses In one place and highlighting each email with a colour to show which of your accounts it is from. Outlook has a unified inbox but there is no easy way to see which email address the email is from, bit of a dealbreaker for me so I’ve reverted to using Spark exclusively.

Can’t handle daylight saving

 –
grengreb
 –
2022-05-10
Version 4.2218.0
An otherwise useful app that is spoilt by the fact that it can’t handle daylight saving in calendar entries. This is a well documented issue that Microsoft refuses to acknowledge, instead blaming users on living in a timezone that uses daylight saving. Their “fix” for this is to manually change your timezone twice a year to one that’s an hour ahead. If a calendar invite is accepted, which is already set to daylight saving (+1hr), Outlook will add another hour, so your invite is now an extra hour ahead. Microsoft support will then be very rude when you raise this with them, shouting at you in caps that “MICROSOFT USES THE UTC STANDARD!” instead of listening to their customers and investigating the underlying cause.

Could be so much better

xandoid
 –
2022-05-07
Version 4.2217.0
I don’t like how hard it is to keep messages unread. The blue dot only goes away once you leave the message so you can’t swipe to make it unread while it’s still open. But once you leave the message it disappears from the filtered messages list and it’s hard to find it again if it was an older message. The only way I could find to keep a message unread is via a menu item that takes two taps to reach. Too much for such a frequently used action.
Also, the app doesn’t support formatting of inline quotes. That makes it hard to respond to longer messages.
It’s a bit of a shame because the app has the potential to be great.

Dreadful

2022-05-07
Version 4.2217.0
This is apparently the only software that will work with my institute’s MFA, so I’m stuck with it. With a calendar that has no way to adjust the tiny text so I can actually read it (on an iPad, that has plenty of room), no lines between the days so I can easily see the shape of my week, no way of scrolling so I can view the end of one week and the beginning of the next simultaneously, no today button. With an email app that has the look and feel of a text app, and is almost impossible to use for professional communications (and now I understand the bafflement in my junior’s faces when I tell them that professional emails shouldn’t be ungrammatical and full of text speak). With an app that puts email and calendar in one place, so I have to go through mail every single time that I want to check my calendar (even though I’ve given up doing mail on my ipad for the reasons above).

Version 4.2213.0
In the search for a new Mac and iOS email client and having been really quite disappointed by some of the other offerings out there I went back to Outlook, both on iOS and Mac and what a pleasant surprise.
In it’s latest guise Outlook not only now looks the part but also performs the part. Yes, some of the Windows version feature bloat isn’t there but what you do get is a well thought out and integrated email solution.
No one seems to like email any more, it’s the awkward necessity, elephant in the room, productivity constipation. However, using Outlook, and I hate to say this; I’m actually enjoying sending, receiving and interfacing with email again.

Version 4.2212.0
I have a home subscription to Microsoft 365 and this enables me to synchronise emails across my i phone, gmail address a pc and a laptop. I like the layout and its huge flexibility. I don’t like the fact that it does not synchronise contacts ( which in effect end up duplicated on my phone) nor does it synchronise between Google ,Apple and outlook calendars so you have to be very careful about that. The 365 free help desk facility is excellent. I wish there was a way to easily file/ archive emails alongside word etc docs of the same subject.

Simply the BEST Platform for Email

Version 4.2210.3
I have found Outlook to be the best email platform I have ever used. Occasionally there is some disparity in certain addresses being split between Junk and my In Box but generally only need to rectify once and the problem is solved.
I find it speedy in updating and alerting to new mail. I also enjoy the professional aesthetics and it remains user friendly as well as consistently acting as a business class communication platform. I can email photos with friends and family as well as writing official correspondence when dealing with organisations safe in the knowledge that all my needs are fulfilled.
I would add that when using Outlook on a mobile device it’s extremely clear and definitely user friendly.

Nearly the perfect email app…

Version 4.2210.1
Cards on the table - I quite like MS stuff. My workstation is W11, I am a paid up 365 subscriber etc and so I quite like Outlook - particularly the desktop version.
So it was a natural move for me to use Outlook on my iPad also and it is pretty close to the full fat version however with two massive buts. So massive I nearly gave it 1* out of shear frustration.
The UI is nice, much nicer than the native Mail app and things like attachments, flagging etc are handled in a more fluid manner. But why oh why in 2022 on a tablet that is more power than an awful lot of desktops and laptops can a market leading mail client not have a collapsible folder tree?! My email is very folder-centric and not being able to collapse the tree makes navigation cumbersome.
And this leads me to the second and very much related but… why oh why can we not have a simple way of adding new folders. Again, this is just a basic email client feature really yet one that seems to either be missing from tablet mail clients completely or implemented in such a fashion paper cutting your own tongue would be more fun.
If MS could only sort those two features, features I might add that are on both the web client and the main desktop/laptop version, it would be an easy 5*

Abysmal calendar. Awful search. But it does email

 –
why a unique nickname?
 –
2022-02-20
Version 4.2205.0
The calendar on this app is beyond awful. Good luck scrolling to a point in the future and trying to do…..anything. You can scroll down a month, but it will just ping you back to where you were time and time again. Click on a date you’ve managed to painfully scroll to in June? Nope! Back to February you idiot. Deal with it. Scrolling day by day is a painful experience too. You really just cannot get work done using this calendar. Unless the event you’re looking for is this week, you may as well assume it doesn’t exist as you won’t be able to find information on it in this app.
The email search functionality is equally poor. You can navigate to a folder you know an email is in. You can use a search term that is near unique. But the search function does not care. It pulls in data from anywhere, including places you could never fathom to ask. Why you can’t search by folder or use the basic (and pretty good) search rules from desktop I cannot understand.
The app has not failed to send or receive emails, so well done on not failing there I suppose.

I’ve had Outlook and Hotmail for a while now, but now that I recently found a new job, I’ve a ton of email job alerts going back to November 2019 that I’ve to manually find and delete and it is a very long, slow, tedious process - I’d like to be able to search for and delete these emails by sender in just one tap, as it’s clogging up my inbox - I’ve tried doing it via the web, but it does not sync with the app and I keep getting messages saying my inbox is full, despite finding and deleting over 6,000 emails on the web and via the app - there has to be a better and quicker way to do this

Search feature could be better

Version 4.2144.1
The search tool in mail is not very good as it only seems to bring out certain items but recent items that should be returned in a search aren’t often there.
Further detail: This app is now the poorer 2nd cousin in the family, which would affect the entire family structure should the first three lines of a family’s succession be in ruins following a tragic accident.
The same could be said for Outlook for iOS/iPadOS. Whereas at first glance, it looks very similar in comparison to Outlook Desktop Client e.g. 2019, 365 etc, or Outlook Web App, scratch a little at the Outlook ‘blue’ table headers, and you suddenly realised it is a very basic email program and unlike other products, in a way you are forced into this choice, because the othering are only marginally better. Why can’t I yet, just choosing one item for example, have synced email preferences so that the same header/footer detail to detail is missing. Even Apple’s Mail app allows this functionality (if not rudimentary in it’s appearance and interactivity).

Version 4.2131.0
I have Office 3654 about three years now. I have not used Outlook all that time at decided recently to maximise my use of out look. I feel that it’s an excellent app but I did have some difficulty in sinching my mail account from my other devices. It is taken a few days of research before obtaining what I think will be a workable solution.
I was successful with my iPhone and iPad when I downloaded the more recent app for Aol as directed. On the the Lenovo Desktop it was not quite so easy because there doesn’t seem to be any easy app that can be downloaded to obtain the wanted result. However I feel that I have succeeded today in syncing correctly although it seems that the emails that I am receiving from my AOL account inbox were dated 15th of March 2021, and is nothing I can do seems to alter this. Of course the mails are still in the AOL Mail box and I can access these from there. Your sincerely Tony Hayes

Version 4.2128.0
Unfortunately I cannot use Outlook anymore because they randomly upped the minimum requirement to v13 of iOS.
So what... Are you telling me I have to buy a new phone just so I can check my emails? I can’t update the OS because my phone is already kinda old (well, for today’s society it is) and I’m afraid updating it will break it. Plus, I don’t even have enough free storage, so it’s just a lost cause.
And yeah, I could check my emails on the browser, but... I can’t receive notifications through that. And it’s really bothersome to boot.
I just don’t get it. It’s an email app. It should be something basic and accessible for as many people as possible. I would understand if this was a game, so iOS13 would give cool stuff like enhanced graphics, but for a mail app... What, are you planning to give us holographics?
Yeah, I’m a bit frustrated. I am supposed to receive some important emails these days, and I have to check on the browser every other minute, it seems.
I would appreciate if compatibility for older iOS versions return, and the multitude of bugs are sorted out first, before jumping on the iOS13 wagon.
Thank you for reading,

Version 4.2127.0
I think this is pretty good (btw I’m reviewing as something for a phone) however when you are on the phone it is quite crammed and I think that you can just do more if you log on with the website on a laptop or computer or something like that. Also I think the symbols need to be clearer at the bottom as I honestly sometimes have no idea what they mean and sometimes it brings back messages from months ago.
I know I’m saying a lot of bad stuff about it but honestly, it’s really good and quite convenient like if you just want to message maybe your teacher or a friend you can just go on the app text them, and then just go on with your day and you don’t have to load up the laptop or something just for that one message

Version 4.2125.0
I need to use Outlook for work and our Office 365 environment. Has good features and has been my preferred app. However, it has become increasingly laggy on all my IOS devices (iPad Pro, iPhone 11) to the point where I have had to switch back to the Apple mail and calendar apps which are super fast but lack integration with Teams and calendar layout is a bit poor. I have reset Outlook, re-installed, but in the end it remains so unresponsive to gestures to make it unusable. Swiping across weeks is so painful - it doesn’t respond, or takes ages. Emails come in quickly, but when typing an email, sometimes the words don’t come up on screen until you finish the sentence. All in all, the app isn’t working for me anymore - I use Apple apps and Teams. I love Microsoft and Apple - I know, a rare thing. But Microsoft needs to sort this out quickly. Some of the other recent reviews concur. This latest ‘performance improvement’ update does not make a difference.

Since I started using the internet as a “new invention” (WAAAY Back!!😂) this email service has been my go to service and one I could and can trust - still to this day and will hopefully continue to do so. I’ve tried other servers & email services and they do not compete with or come close to the professionalism of Hotmail.
I would and can highly recommend it (as a graduate, experienced & reasonably well travelled individual from Ireland.) What does a degree mean these days? I know. 🙄🙄🤔
Anyway, I’d highly recommend this email platform! (Should have just said that instead of wasting your time! Sorry!!).

Version 4.2124.0
After months of using….I really need to find time to download something way better. It is BUGGY as an ant farm! It randomly logs out of different email accounts. The search facility is just not intuitive, accurate, slow…or all three. Compared to the default iPaid mail app, I can only find 25% of what I need.
The overall UI is really not intuitive. Maybe it’s me, but I still can’t work out how to turn off the multiple selection of emails (with the pilot boxes) after accidentally activating it. It’s annoying I’m accidentally activating it, but it’s utterly unbelievable I have to shut down the app to get rid of it. Any developer should realise they’ve failed miserably if the customer is resorting to off’ey on’ey tactics!
Note to self…carve out some time to drop this app like a Covid covered hotdog!

It took a while for me to be convinced to switch from standard iPhone email to using outlook for work email but it’s been worth it.
Firstly the outlook app itself is good and easy to use - you can tailor alerts for just calendars and not every email. You can organise by thread or not, look up employee phone numbers from active directory and basically operate work as a secure bubble within you personal phone ( or in my case separate work from personal on my work phone)
Secondly it’s compatible with my iWatch so calendar alerts and 2 factor authentication requests pop up on the watch - a real time saver.
Thirdly when I am on holiday I can completely delete outlook so I am not pestered or tempted with work stuff.
Overall a great app and worth using

The Outlook Mobile app is excellent in the sense it enables you to use 90% of the features available on the desktop app at your fingertips. I feel confident that I can work straight from my iPhone. It is aesthetically pleasing and very easy to you with all the actions you need to available on the screen at one time.
My only issue with it is there is a bug, possibly with the Face ID upon opening emails sometimes. When I open the email, the screen suddenly flashes between the Face ID and the email, very quickly for 5 seconds. Afterwards the app freezes on the email without showing the actual body of the email. Only when you close and reopen the app can you use it again. This is mildly frustrating but a bug nonetheless and I have to use Face ID due to my employer’s security policy.
Without this bug, I would rate 5 stars.

First of all, I would recommend outlook over any other email server/account/platform.
The app/outlook account is one I’ve had for 24 years and it’s never faulted - well apart from Onedrive one day decided to remove years of photos, memories and extremely important documents.
The one thing I would say is that there are features which could be extremely useful. Features that you would have on an office email account. Simple options even for example a received/read mail notification, direct link to onedrive as we once had available on computer, notes & a basic admin functionality.
There are two things at least that bothers me the most that comes to mind...
1. It’s a shame when you press on the picture links where or what to do with an email, that a label doesn’t come up to make it clear what’s what.
2. It would be so much easier to be able to search for a regular sender, and there be able to select all and delete.
I am truly amazed by outlooks generosity. It’s been a lifeline and a safe and loyal platform for all these years. So thank for the updates and improvements you make constantly to keep the app fresh and for making it free and and available to all.

I really like the Outlook app - it is very nicely presented and generally works well.
I do gave some gripes though - I have my personal and work email addresses on the app and i wish you could more definitively separate the two. Sometimes the app will default to opening both inboxes or sending an email from my work email rather than my personal etc. I did once accidentally send an email from my work email rather than my personal email which, for a pedant/perfectionist like me, is kind of painful. 😩
It’d also be good if you could apply icons and labels to your different email accounts to more clearly identify them. Finally I’m not sure if you can reorder different accounts in the list; I wanted my personal email at the top and I think I had to delete my work email account and re-add it to achieve this. It was a while ago though so I might be wrong on that.
Finally, the search feature is pretty basic and needs more features. Pretty sure you can’t sort search results in the order you want...
Thanks.

I used to really get on with outlook but I keep having issues lately... It keeps asking for my Microsoft password when I use different devices, but tells me it’s wrong, so I reset it and gets me in... but then I try to log in from another device and the new password doesn’t work. I’ve changed my password about 5 times in the last month because of this. Also, when use outlook on my laptop it doesn’t load the same messages as on my phone, even when I press send/receive they still don’t update. Not a huge fan of the ads you get across the top now, but that’s just the way of the world I suppose.

I have used this app for a while for my work email. It had been working brilliantly up until the last 3 updates. At first it stopped syncing emails and folders with my laptop version. Then I stopped receiving alerts on my phone and emails were not automatically coming through after the second update. After the last update it has stopped working completely. I have tried all the usual tricks eg delete and reinstall checked all the settings. No I cannot even recreate my account. I put in all my login information and as soon as I click on sign in the app crashes. I have tried more than a dozen times. I guess it’s no work email on my phone until a company the size of Microsoft get round to fixing it’s compatibility with an iPhone. Really poor from a tech giant.

I think this app is great in many ways and has some advantages visually over the native iOS mail app . The first recommendation is that i think you should update the fluent icons as they appear next to received mail . Your actually still missing a lot of retailer like John Lewis , Curry’s , Target , Restaurants like Dominos and Deliveroo . Please update it to make it even easier to read . Second suggestion is allow the user to specify the date/time before items from the server get pulled . Probably 6months / 1 year /5+ years .
Overall very impressive app otherwise .

I have used this app for a while now and all has been good. Then all of a sudden I stopped getting the notifications come through on my iPhone. Tried everything to correct this, reset my settings, deleted and re-set up my email and even deleted and reinstalled the app but I still couldn’t correct it.
Sent a message through to the Help & Feedback option and got a quick response back saying they will be pleased to help. I was very hopeful that a company such as Microsoft could resolve this for me. However despite me sending three messages over the last week in reply no one has come back to me.
My only hope is that any app update will resolve this but I don’t see any benefit in MS suggesting the use of the Help & Feedback option if they don’t communicate with you.

I find the emails are fine when I use outlook on my computer but on your phone when u want to forward an email to someone, it ends up showing your reply first”! Why have u done this outlook!? It’s horrible! Why can’t you just keep things as they are” they worked well as they were. Now when I am looking for an email someone has sent me I end up seeing only one and not all their previous ones because u have somewhat mixed them into one email and then I can’t find the emails I’m actually looking for because it doesn’t show them! This only seems to be on the app. Or maybe it’s like that way on the computer too but I’m pretty sure it’s not. Please change it back to how it was before. This is horrible! :(

Address autocomplete corruption

This app corrupted my autocomplete cache. It then corrupted the autocomplete cache on OWA which then corrupted autocomplete cache on outlook for Mac.
Support for outlook iOS is beyond awful. They denied it could be the app for two weeks. I then resolved the issue with MS owa support (by reinstalling the entire OWA account) which took a week. We then isolated the problem to outlook iOS. iOS support think they can solve the problem with a message with a silly question every 24hours.
The iOS support function is awful. Which would not be a huge problem if this app did not have an impact on the OWA server, BUT IT DOES and then wasted a week’s of my, and the MS owa support staff’s, time.

Worked well for some time but then one of my important email accounts stopped working. Very common email provider so contacted outlook support and sadly they are very quick to blame everything else (password, provider) for the issue rather then the app. They close support tickets as soon as they think it is something else causing the problem despite proof it is the app. Constantly asking for screenshots of the issue rather then accepting the descriptions or the error logs. I changed email apps several times to prove this problem was the outlook app and nothing else, yet they always blame the email provider.
Have since moved back to the native iPhone Mail app and it’s spectacular. Very fast and easy to use and shows just how slow, sluggish and poor the outlook app is! Avoid the outlook app and stick with others, your email life will be much smoother!

Version 4.57.0
There are plenty of frustrations with outlook on iPadOS. The most annoying is definitely the fact that when the IOS spellchecker/autocorrect pops open at the bottom of your screen with suggested words, it is blocking areas of the outlook application that you often need access to. This is due to poor layout design by the app designers.
There needs to be a much better UX around the address book to be more like the desktop client, and there needs to be better support added for things like inputting tables.
One of the great things for me though, is the way it is linked up to your o365 account and allows you to view folders from your onedrive account when adding attachments.

Version 4.55.1
Outlook is private, doesn't scan your emails or content, which is a big plus. It's very fast, efficient and useful that you can view each email address emails separately or view all emails from all the email addresses at the same time and replies to selected email sent from the relevant email address. Can insert hyperlinks straight from the app. Being able to create alias email addresses is brilliant and gives additional privacy. They show automatically in the outlook app without needing to add them separately, which is fab. It would be useful to have a scanning functionality in the app, schedule send, confidential mode and to change the fonts/set default font.

I’m about as explored as you get with iOS mail apps. From the no frills stock iOS Mail to the once feature rich but now god awful AirMail. This year I moved to Spark finally and whilst it’s not perfect, it has the best features and best overall design. Having given outlook a second chance, since getting a one drive family subscription I realised that despite it being nearly 1 1/2 years later the app lacks basic features such as moving emails to folders in other mailboxes.
Folder management is a solid flop on outlook and the UI is like many Microsoft designs, poorly executed and unintuitive. It simply won’t do and I’m surprised others are rating this as highly a as it is, you only have to look at the desktop outlook to see what a hash of a product it is.

My mail app on my iPhone stopped working so I thought to download this app. After a week, I suddenly kept getting "error" with an account. When I looked online, my account had a compliance lock that I went against their TOC's, looking back at my sent folder. My account got hacked and sent unsolicited emails out the same day I downloaded this account. I immediately removed accounts, deleted the app and now I've been waiting over 2 months for Microsoft compliance team to get back to me. It's their fault I've lost access to my account because of this app. DO NOT DOWNLOAD, I had a very very strong password and still got hacked. I had this account for over 20 years and now lost. Cannot access my Xbox because of this compliance lock. Basically lost my entire account and all my purchased games.

One of the best phone apps I’ve used. Really well put together, slick, so much functionality but it’s there in a way that’s easy to access and not burdening. This really is the beat app to have all your mail and calendars together.
The only thing that I’d really like, and that won’t be an issue for many, is the Apple Watch complications. Most calendar apps for Apple Watch allow you to have a small complication showing your next appointment, unfortunately outlook don’t yet provide this.
The other thing that would be good would be the option to split the app out into two app buttons - one directly to take you to mail, the other to take you directly to calendar. I know you can long press on the app button and select ‘open’ calendar, but it would be more beneficial to me to split them into two physical buttons (maybe there’s a shortcut for this somewhere).
Thanks Microsoft, great job on this. Keep up the good work!

Oh Outlook, how I loved you. From the early days I’ve been recommending you to friends and colleagues who wanted something more integrated with their desktop, more control, more features. Support were responsive, development was rich. I’ve tried many third party mail apps and this was the best. Not perfect (don’t need calendar or contacts, thx. Please put a delete button at the bottom of the screen. You get the picture. We rubbed along nicely but there was some friction. Just not enough to make me want to leave.
Until now. Years and years. All gone. Outlook now frequently does what it calls a “Data Wipe” where it wipes your email accounts from your device. I run 6 accounts, so reentering all those details, customising signatures etc is not lightly undertaken. Less than 24 hours later, the same happened. Got in touch with support, who were as prompt as usual. It’s a known issue with no timeline for resolution, keep checking for updates. Then it happened a third time.
Sorry. I can’t live my life like this. I’ve gone back to iOS Mail. And guess what? It’s improved a lot in the interim. And - oh yeah - it works.
So long.

Really loving it. Push mail from all accounts but it has 2, rather significant flaws.
1. Doesn't access contacts on your device. When you compose and email it will show you recent correspondence but has zero access to your phone's built in address book. Which you would kind of expect from a smart phone email app.
2. Similarly it doesn't access your phone's build in calendar app. It can only show you your Google, iCloud or Exchange calendar. Which means no access to your subscribed calendars or CalDAV. Not sure why a smartphone email app thinks it has any place also offering a pretty basic calendar. Just stick to email and let us have the option to open date links in our chosen calendar app.

Worst email app in the world.

Tried it a few years ago and doesn’t appear to have progressed. Went back to IOS apps. Synching with exchange.
Company just moved to 365 and suggested the app. Downloaded and yes no progress. Can’t synch outlook notes, can’t switch to calendar when writing a mail without closing the mail, plus loads of other irritants such as losing mails. However the worst impact was the rate at which my battery lost power. With the app running my battery needed recharging after 3-4 hours rather than the previous 7 -8 hours.
Not built for business gone back to IOS where all the apps notes, contacts, calendar, mail are separate instances but synched to Outlook exchange so easy to Swich between data sources. Whoever wrote this app has no knowledge of business requirements when on the move.

This app is so well organised and structured. It easy to access all your various types of email and simple to view and reply them. It allows for a different range of files to be attached to your email and it very easy to navigate. Overall the app is sophisticated and through my use of it emailing individuals has become easier, with me becoming more comfortable with it. The only thing I would complain about for this app, is the inability to delete folders. This means when I near freak like me tries to organise my folders and get something wrong I am stuck with it there. The online version doesn’t full allow me to delete these folders.

Ok so it’s overall a pretty decent app. Great unified email management. Clean design. But it does a couple of things that I find really annoying.
Snoozing, why the emails stay in the snoozed folder for ever? Once they reoccur in the inbox, why are they not removed from the snoozed folder.
Notifications, these seem to have gone from bad to worse with the recent updates. First the delete email from the notification stopped working. Now the notifications won’t stack. And this last point of not stacking is a complete deal breaker for me. So the hunt for a good email client like Inbox that isn’t about to be shut down continues 🤦🏻‍♂️

I use this solely for work and is integrated perfectly for it. Does everything that I need it to for work but I have one gripe with it that made me try other mail apps to get over this but due to my work integration with Office 365, I have to come back. The gripe is that while using the app on my mobile, when in an email, to move, flag, etc the options are on the top right of the screen. I’m using a large phone and it’s always a pain when using one-handed.
Would be nice if we could rearrange the options or have them at the bottom of the screen. It would make the user experience easier and logical since the app is for mobile use and the UI is catered mostly for use of the keyboard and options closer to the bottom. Hope this changes soon.

I've been using this app since it was recommended by The Verge. I haven't used the standard email app since. I absolutely love having a focused inbox as it separates all the spam emails that clutter up my inbox. Only thing is now I realize how few important emails I actually get. I'll be lucky to get one a day! I probably don't use most of the features offered but it's great that it can be used as a simple uncomplicated email app if you want. Of note also is the customer service. I had a slight problem getting it set up and after contacting customer service they got straight back to me and resolved my issue first time. An excellent service that doesn't cost a thing. Fully recommended.

In this day and age of some of the most sophisticated phishing attempts ever seen I simply can’t understand how Microsoft would omit a block sender feature from their app. This is just crazy to me. I contacted tech support through the app and got a highly detailed automated cut and paste response within seconds apologising for the lack of the feature and telling me to go login to the website to block senders. They can spend time automating a response to the issue but won’t spend the time to introduce a feature that a quick google shows is very much in demand. For Shame
Update: 1 week later. I have discovered the gmail app is far better and allows me to ‘gmailify’ external email accounts incorporating their stellar spam filtering into the mix. The app instantly dumped all the spam out of my outlook inbox. Thank you Microsoft. Your poor support drove me to look for a better alternative and that’s exactly what I have found.

However awful Outlook is on desktop, you’re pretty much stuck with it in corporate Windows environment. So using it on mobile too kind of makes sense for convenience and consistency.
Over the last couple of years I was willing to put up with its bugs and limitations - all complicated apps inevitably have them.
However I finally bit the bullet, removed it today and switched to a separate but better apps for email, calendar, and contacts. The reason is that it yesterday (for the second time this year) deleted a year’s email. It is ridiculously easy to brush the ‘select all’ and delete icons without realising it. Before you notice, your emails are disappearing before your eyes, with the deletions being synchronised across all devices linked to your accounts. So for 2nd time this year I have wasted hours going message by message through 3 sets of recycle bins trying to work out which messages were intentionally or unintentionally deleted, and restoring accordingly. Poor for an app that is supposed to increase productivity.

Requires logging in after the recent update. I was locked out of my own account for the whole day today. Nothing similar ever happened with any other email apps. Also, attaching the same file more than once automatically renames it. For example, you write a draft, attach something, then discard it. Next time you attach the same file to any other draft it's going to be renamed to ...-1, then ...-2 and so on. After a few attempts you'll be looking like an idiot sending a copy no 7 of the same file that you have no option to rename.

Jimbobbingalong - You are not able to customize notifications as well as the Mail app in iOS. The most you can do to maintain alerts is to show banners and when an email comes through it will show who it's from and always show the subject and the first line of the message body. With the Mail app you have the option just to show an email has arrived from the recipients name without showing the first line of the message body which is extremely important. The Mail app has an option in the notifications settings of your phone at the bottom called "Show Preview" which you can switch off. When this is off it will not show the message body. It will show the sender and subject only. This option does not exist with the outlook app and it will always show the first line of the actual email which is ridiculous.

Can't fault it in any way

Really good job from Microsoft here, really focuses on productivity and ease of use, really like the swipe options, calendar integration and multiple browser support, much better than apple Mail, really can't fault it
Update-
Still very impressed, love the file management aspect of the app and the fact that It recognises Parcel confirmations and hotel bookings and displays these in the search panel, it’s really intuitive and saves time when you need to access these types of emails. To suggest an improvement Would be great if I could pin emails at the top of inbox temporarily. All in all though still a brilliant app!

App works well but there are 2 easy bugs to fix after 1 week of use.
1. Draft folder on app does not sync with 365 outlook account. So if I start drafting an email on my device I cannot finish it at work and viceversa.
2. When pressing on the drop down menu at the top left corner, there is always a significant delay before the menu opens and all folders are shown. I have a large folder structure and it would be easier if folders where not expanded but compressed and could be clicked and expanded when you are searching for a specific item. Similarly to the GUI that you have when you go to Outlook 365 mobile on Safari.
Thank you. Nico
