The new mobile update is absolutely terrible and makes things that used to be easy to do on Mobile very awkward - searching for messages in a server, checking pins, seeing members who are online etc.
Have to use the desktop app to actual use a lot of Discord’s functions

It doesn't let me highlight or copypaste when I select the nickname textbox in the server profile editor: it just scrolls all the way to the bottom of the page automatically and I can't scroll back up again. The Nitro box really gets in the way of me being able to do so as well.

This update has ruined the mobile app. The layout is so counter intuitive, longwinded and unnecessarily complex.
Swipe right to reply to a message but don’t swipe too far or it edits it! And don’t swipe far enough and it does nothing! Swipe juuuust the right amount!
Want to see the members list or who’s online? Click your server, then swipe right (that swipe right still changes screens though??) then click a channel AND THEN click the channel name at the top??? It’s so hidden and added extra steps that make NO sense.
Not only has it ruined the ease and flow of the app but the subpar replacement doesn’t follow the ‘rules’ of mobile messaging apps. It’s completely different (in a bad way) to any of its competitors. This app has become SO inaccessible, and the update is FULL of bugs which cause crashes all the time.
And the kicker? Not only after a huge amount of backlash online, they flat out ignore the outcry and have offered no explanation as to why it’s changed so much, and don’t offer the option to revert.

Since the new update, cannot recommend this anymore. Emotes take twice as long to load, servers with over 100 users never loads when you try to see the user list, dm messages don’t mark as read unless you scroll up and down, same for server pings. If you interrupt your own message mid way through the send button disappears, switching between dms and servers breaks half the time and the bottom bar goes.
Old discord just worked. No issues, never. This one I’m having to force close it after basically every message I send. Was bad before this most recent update, this newest one is out to kill the app all together.

Discord itself is completely fine, on desktop it’s a great experience. But the mobile app not so much. It’s so unbelievably riddled with bugs that I find myself having to restart the app several times a day, it’s actually ridiculous.
Such bugs include:
Notifications not clearing when you read them (restart app or tap X on new messages banner every single time someone sends you one)
The keyboard entirely disappearing (restart app)
The bottom icons letting you swap between messages and servers totally disappearing if you click the name of a channel (e.g to see its pins)
Sometimes it will just send your messages to an entirely different channel than the one you’re focused on, which is extremely annoying and potentially a privacy risk.
Overall discord is fine but the mobile app must be managed by the worst app developers I swear

I’ve been using discord since 2018, I have a lot of experiences and a lot of things to say
The general idea of the app is really good, I’ve used this app to communicate with my friends and fans more than any other app
But the way things are run (the ban system, how private servers can actually be) if crazy to me, the way you could do anything and no one could know is not safe considering the type of people that use this app
Also the new layout makes the app ten times more complicated, I don’t think there was a need, although I do like the new features that come with it

I have a brand new phone and this app barely works. My boyfriend currently doesnt have a phone so we talk on Discord as he is a gamer. I have to redownload the app around 4-5 times a day as my messages randomly decide to stop sending. Even when I have a strong WiFi connection or 4g data won’t be using again once he gets his phone.

I have used discord mobile for many years and have come to love the app, but the latest update makes it near impossible to use. As the owner of a server with thousands of members i am considering leaving discord because of it. I have already cancelled my nitro because of it.
Some of the annoyances:
>Splitting dms and servers is just annoying and unnecessary
>search is IMPOSSIBLE to use now. If i want to search the entire server i have to back out of the channel i am in, and go to the top of the server and search from there, even then the search results no longer show images or links? and the filters are much harder to find and use. it makes moderating really difficult.
>New message blue bar doesn't disappear even when i'm in chat, event when i visit the app, it has to be manually cleared every time.
>swipe left to reply is something nobody wanted and nobody likes. please revert so that member lists are on the swipe left function again.
>removed the grey default -this was a perfect colour for someone with visual impairment,the new colours and themes are very hard on the eyes.
I can't understand trying to make discord mobile seperate from discord online, we all just want a mini version of the desktop discord. which is what we had.

The platform works well, rarely experiencing outages, good latency times, very consistent. The problem is that they often try to revamp things that were perfectly fine as they were, seriously harming user experience.
Take the colour update they introduced in 2021. This was rolled out with no community feedback beforehand and ended up limiting how some users could even access the platform, as many reported the colours causing unnecessary eye strain/pain, with no way to alter it until weeks later when they introduced the saturation slider in accessibility. Too little too late.
The new UI released this year (2023) for their mobile app is another instance of this. The mobile UI worked fine for most users, but in a move which I fail to see the motivation for, they revamped it, broke muscle memory, and made no attempt to ease the change. Simply why?
Still, especially for a free to use platform, Discord is really good. I’d just really like to see them look before they leap into these big changes, as it always results in backlash for them. There are too many platforms running themselves into the ground to look like they’re doing something, and maybe Discord could demonstrate that it’s okay to not make sweeping changes as long as you’re in the green that year.

The old version of the mobile app was fun and easy to navigate, but since they added a new Mobile update it has become unusable and is now putting a large majority of the userbase to not use discord due to its update. The lack of accessibility and support from this app is horrible, many people who have learning difficulties must relearn to use the app all over again and for people in general, nobody likes it. Discord seems to be completely ignorant of their users and not only tells people to delete their account if they don’t like the update but completely ignores the situation altogether. Additionally with the horrible new, unusable and unnecessary update they have added another update which deleted files/links within 24 hours which not only makes group projects harder but generally makes the whole application very user unfriendly. I would not recommend this app to new users, and would suggest to find another texting / chat app/ service that is easier to use.
Oh, and you also have to literally pay an unnecessary amount of money just to use certain features.

I rarely write reviews, but felt I had to in this case. I would have previously rated the app 5 stars, as it was a great app, but the new UI is simply awful. Functions and area of the app were easy to find and navigate to and it was easy and intuitive.
The new app is a case study on poor UI design and inaccessibility. Nothing about it makes sense, there’s entire function I can’t find, even something as simple as trying to find who is online on my server - previously, swipe left and there is the list. On the new app, god knows - I stumbled on it once, so I know it’s possible, but haven’t been able to work it out since.
For the love of god, either reverse this new UI change, or put an option in for users to use the old UI. I can see from the current reviews that the new UI is almost universally hated - try listening to your customers (like me who pays monthly for Nitro), before you lose us to a new platform!!

Simply put, the new UI is atrocious, and makes navigating Discord on mobile far more cumbersome, particularly due to the return of the much-maligned swipe to reply feature. Re-adding it only serves to break people’s muscle memory from swiping to view the channel list, as was the case prior to this update, a function which is now buried away in a separate sub-menu entirely now that the swipe is re-purposed for this new ‘feature’.
This is merely one example of the various illogical and user-unfriendly changes made to the UI by the latest updates to Discord, which only serve to make UX worse for long-time users who have become accustomed to the older, more intuitive ways of navigating the interface. Combined with how the developers refuse to acknowledge any legitimate user feedback regarding these changes, I simply cannot give this app a rating beyond the bare minimum the App Store lets me give it.
New UI update broken features and headaches

The new ui update has removed the ability to see who is online in a server. This is disastrous for trying to do work or school projects. It also makes it essential impossible to moderate your server from a mobile device so large servers are effectively unmoderated hell scapes of spam and phishing attacks until a mod walks back to a desktop.
They’ve made the replies hidden behind two taps instead of one and made the design less ergonomic, discord can no longer be used one handed as a disabled user this most recent update is extremely frustrating as one of the most accessible comms apps I no longer can use without putting my phone down on a surface.
The hiding of dm makes it harder to respond to them instantly which is forcing our project to relay on email again as you can’t see dm without going to the messages tab.
Pinned messages no longer show any embed so art or cinema servers or meme servers are now broken. This also makes it impossible to see context as the full text of a pinned message or notification is no longer being displayed.
I’ve also been told by a friend the new dark mode is so high contrast that it gives them headaches.
We are seriously considering cancelling our multiple nitro subs and moving our whole team to slack.

Straight to the point I feel like Discord are actively trying to ruin their user experience. This latest update not only is visually less appealing that the old UI we had, but it either pointlessly moves around and outright hides some features as well as straight up removing other features we’ve had since the launch of discord. Finding the members list in a server has been made needlessly complex compared to the old system of just swiping to the right; the same goes for the friends list which is hidden within menus now whilst the Direct Messages button has been turned into a superset tab that is much harder to navigate and use. Also to my knowledge you can no longer cancel your nitro subscription from the app, you need to use the desktop (that’s incredibly sneaky, almost as if they expected this kind of backlash).
Unless discord reverts these changes, I for one will be cancelling all monetary features I currently use with the app and taking my business else where. They clearly do not care to listen to the users that have made discord as big as it is in the first places who clearly do not like this new UI updates and they are trying to turn it into something it clearly isn’t, a social media website.
One Star, do not use this app.

Discord in general is a brilliant app, I’ve used it for six or as years now, and always loved almost everything about it, up until now I would’ve rated it as five stars. I have never had any major issues with the app until now, they have majorly changed the mobile user interface and made almost everything less accessible, as well as removing the much loved colour scheme and changing it to a generic dark blue (this can be changed to completely white, or completely black in the settings, however if you want anything else you have to pay actual money for it). Before, the layout of the app was much the same as that on the computer but optimised for use on mobile through the use of swiping left or right to access things (intuitive and easy). The layouts are now quite different, and now in order to access the same things you must go through multiple menus.
Again, this application is brilliant for a variety of reasons, but I find it difficult to still say this as confidently with these new changes, the general opinion of which from the community has been somewhat overwhelmingly negative (my opinion included).

What’s with the new layout? I get if discord was improving the app for the better, by for example listening the what the user-base wants, but going around and completely ruining the discord layout in order to literally copy the layout of other apps.
The layout on the app itself has been changed so badly that it’s essentially nothing like discord on desktop, making it a nightmare to switch between both, and the common task of seeing what friends are active and offline has been made harder by having to open a completely new menu, as discord wants to further promote a feature that people *kinda* use but usually don’t need to most times (replying to other messages)
Moving DMs and Group DMs into its own category at the bottom is often confusing at times and is completely pointless, especially to us who use discord as a place to have group DMs as we don’t want to deal with the hassle of creating a whole group discord server, which often causes WAY more drama than a quick and simple group DM.
Overall I think discord should reconsider this update or *at least* have an option to revert back to classic discord. So far the response from discord has quite literally been to tell people to leave the platform instead of providing an option to revert.

It’s was actually good. A nice sleek design different to all other apps I’ve come across. I find it hard when theres too much on the screen so the way you could just swipe made it really enjoyable and accessible. There was a slight learning curve getting used to everything but I’d say it was definitely one of my favourite apps for the interface.
Though for whatever reason the people in charge are deadset on ruining the experience for everyone. The new interface no one wanted and no one likes. It’s clunky, stressful and hectic. You can’t see who’s online anymore making navigating servers exceedingly difficult. It was my go to place for group chats surrounding uni work and basically everything but this new update has put me off. I hope the creators can actually listen to their audience and fix it or I’ll have to find a new platform as I’m sure many others will too.

I love using discord it a brilliant way to connect with friends and work on projects but I can no long use the app after its newest update. I suffer from dyslexia and the old dark mode was perfect as I could read all the text. Unfortunately now text and void merge into one and I can no longer read. Midnight mode is far worse looking like darkness with white glare and light mode just hurts my eyes. I tried to use the feedback site but it didn’t work so I’m putting light on the issue here, I do hope the dark mode could be added back or returned to how it was as I would like to be able to read my messages without waiting to return home and open my computer.

So a new UI introduction happened today (6th December) and so many very change changes have occurred on the mobile UI.
The first questionable decision is the landing pad for you is your DMs and not your servers. While DMs are potentially the biggest usage for many people it’s nearly impossible to use discord without servers - so why shove servers behind this very large and ugly page of DMs and very large, low quality images of desktop icons for whatever the few friends that still have their “x is playing” enabled.
The notifications tab is useful as it can be hard to see who and when you’ve been tagged and in what server. There was also no need to have an entire tab for your own profile, it has so little functionality that it feels like an attempt to pad out this new “tab” based UI, which clearly implies that it wasn’t a justifiable choice for changing the UI.
And finally the colour of the new app, this very dark blue instead of grey for dark mode includes blue light, this is very disruptive for sleep and your overall sleeping pattern, the original grey/green was far better and should be reinstated regardless.
I’ve used discord for over 7 years now and I’ve found it so useful, but a lot of recent decisions have been baffling to me, I know all companies want to improve their usage rates and revenue - but let’s not ruin a good thing yeah?

Discord is an app where you can join different communities and make new friends, or keep in contact with family/ friends. You can also make your own server and give out unique rolls to different members while you can create your own emoji’s and stickers.
However, the downside of discord is that you have to pay for nitro which I think is really unfair because half of the prices go up to £100 just to boost a server and it’s unfair because not everyone can afford that money.
I’d recommend toning down the prices a bit. I get it, we all need to make money at some point in our life’s, but you should think about setting responsible prices for an app and make Nitro cheaper…£100 for an app is just a bit much. I don’t think I would want to pay £100 for an app when I could be using that money to pay for a roof over my head.
That much money is just as much how i would need to pay bills and it’s not fair on a lot of people. Not everyone has a rich life!
The app does crash now and then but they fix it almost immediately, which is a good thing.
They also have support which is another good thing because if you got bullied or harassed in servers/ chats, you can report the situation to Discord. You can also block any user if they make you uncomfortable.
Overall, Discord is great. It’s a very chill place when you want to chill in your free time.
The only downside of the app is the prices of Nitro and the boosts.

This app is great to talk to people on but there is a serious issue I’d like to address. When you log out of your account for a few days and try log back in it says “login detected reset your password new location logged in” makes you think there is hackers on your account and it gives you different locations every time you reset your password. I’ve even emailed discord about this issue. many times I have lost my accounts because of this problem and I’ve not been able to get my recent account back no matter how much I change my password it still don’t let me log back in I have lost so much memories on there that I want to keep.
Discord please please fix this issue it’s been a problem for a while now and I just want my account back thank you.

Discord is a great app I can chat to my friends and everything haven’t encountered anything I haven’t wanted to, however there are some minor issues. 1 = calls- every time I’m on call with my friends it always seems to be lagging on both ends. I thought that it was just a problem with my device but it turns out it’s not. The voice seems to be cutting out a lot (rarely) the call abruptly ends and sharing my (and the person on the other end) screen is extremely difficult. The stream either ends randomly or it takes a long time to load and we have to keep re -trying. 2 = going into the app- whenever I click on the app to use it again it keeps loading and loading at first the problem wasn’t that big, however now it seems like it’s going on forever. However even with these issues I find discord an Amazing app to make new friends and keep in touch. (I hope this issue isn’t just with my device cause then this would sound a bit stupid, I do hope the discord team could solve this). Thanks for reading this.

As an 18+ Adult who works a 9-5, 5 days a week job like every adult, I myself like to go home and spend my evening chatting to my friend and support fellow NSFW artists, I paid to gain access to a server and I was told I couldn’t get access because it gone against Apple guidelines, Guidelines that had been reviewed by someone who doesn’t understand that the internet isn’t just a place for kids, but for grown adults like myself, I understand that the staff there want to protect the kids and that is fine I respect that, but it shouldn’t be us. The user are getting punished, it should be the parents who allow their kids to go into the web unsupervised. They allow adult oriented sites that aren’t suitable for children such as Tinder, questionable/fake/scam advertisements that use innuendos, the app market place is Riffed with garbage in the children section that the apple team should’ve cleaned up a long time ago.
I paid access to the server and I should as a user have the right to access the server, a NSFW server that isn’t easy to gain access without a bank/credit card. If anyone is to be blamed for allowing minors to access private servers via credit card, it’s the parents for not teaching them basic decency. I never had any problem with discord but this just blows

It’s a good place for Linkin Park updates etc. the chat room is like being back at school. If I mention I’m an older woman or state something from say the 1980 (hypothetically) I get ignored. One user told me to use commas, again who uses a lot of punctuation in a chat room. You dare post something that should be in other chats it’s like you’ve put something obscene or rude, these kids weren’t even born when Linkin Park first arrived on the scene, and they judge me as I feel they don’t want to converse with me. Sounds like I’m paranoid far from it, just thought it would be great to chat and share stuff with people who like the same music. Nope it’s ridiculously childish and really don’t want to stay on it. Apart from my experience, the app is well monitored and has great links to other Linkin Park news, tweets, so it’s a good place but not if you middle aged it seems.

Hear me out, This app is amazing for socialising with friends! I recommend this for gamers across the globe because it allows you to: Make calls, Stream your screen and chat whilst playing! I’ve got one problem though…Verification block?..I know it’s important to verify your account but to cut off all use of the app because you haven’t verified? Me and my friend share an email in a way, (She having created it for me to use because I was having trouble making an account in the first place), And that’s basically our only way of contact besides meetups, Which happen very rarely. I think you should add something where you can edit the emojis you already made. For example changing the scale. Instead of making a new emoji you can edit it so you won’t have to restart things all over again. Like i have a welcome message in my channel and the emojis are too small and i’d like to make them bigger but to change them i have to make a new emoji and then i have to restart the whole embed/welcome message again. I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t really like it at first, it was just not for me for a while at the start- all those pingy sounds and the overly sleek background - I deleted it multiple times because of this and even after deletion could still hear the distant echoes of pings (hallucinations or a system fault, who knows?), like shrieks in the night - but I like to think that I’ve slowly moved into a state of silent admiration at the efficient notification system, the pings that give a rush of dopamine rather than dread and the very intricate details in the servers, etc. It is a sleek and efficient messenger. The only lag could be the one that causes as ‘could not load’ message to something you reply to that may be too far back into the past but other than that, it’s a decent app. 10/10 recommend to my bros and sisters out there.

app claims to be 13+ yes? but allows nsfw & nsfw servers that can be exposed to young children easily, ive had dm advertisers advertise nsfw egirl servers to me since i first started using discord (2019) , and while i know you can change who can dm you and you can scan dms before they are sent, i dont think any person new to discord would know how to do that. they need to protect the minors on this app more because there are far too many servers that allow 13-16 year olds be in the same nsfw setting as fully grown adults, im not saying remove the nsfw completely because that would remove a big part of the audience, but there needs to be more rules around nsfw servers, such as ID before joining an 18+ server (that ive seen some do) - there is too much free space for cp to be passed around easily. im 14 and have had 15+ invites to nsfw servers (some that will welcome 13 year olds?!) in the past WEEK. I have turned off my dms since but it is annoying since i cannot message other people who are not on my friends list. It is unsafe for minors and discord either needs to add a whole lot more rules in place or they just need to make it an 18+ app.

1) very first time using this app, I had a very important group meeting - invite was sent with NO EXPIRATION & NO LIMITS. Several of us could no use the link stating “The invite link is invalid or has expired” 🙄 it was a brand new link and brand new invite. 2) I decided to start a new account, using it for only 1 particular server - And it seemed to go well for 12 about hours, I needed the app for some morning work. Then out of the blue I was removed from the server, i spoke directly to the admin and they said they haven’t removed or banned anyone. They send me a brand new link Lo and behold “The invite is invalid or has expired” so again I am unable to carry out any work!!! 3) I DM my friend from the same server on the App, yet again they send me a fresh invite, Lo and behold again “the user is banned from this guild”!! I am questioning the developers on how poorly can you make an app? No person to talk to about any issues just a so called “support page” I have sent an email for the support team, and still waiting on a response!! My head feels like it’s going to explode with frustration!!

So I really like discord, you can make friends, make servers, message friends and voice chat but something ruined that. I was just joining some servers since I needed to and it popped up with,”Hmm. Somethings up. Please Verify your Email.” And I couldn’t do that since I’ve already used my email for a different account that discord made me log out of for no reason as well, so I had to log out of that account too. This made me really upset and I’m still crying now. So I made a new account with my phone number, I was friending everyone I knew, then I joined some servers. Then it said that I need to verify my EMAIL and I only signed up with my phone number so what was I supposed to do? I could’ve asked for my dad’s email but my parents are overprotective so obviously I couldn’t ask for his email otherwise he’d ask questions about why I need his email. I’m really upset about this and I want my account back.

Apps been great. Discord has always been so easy and fun until i got disabled 3 times all for no reason. 1st time was when i pinged an actual discord admin. I got told to ping him so i did and 2 mins later my account got deleted completely so great admin. Second time was because i was apparently wizzing/nuking discord servers when ive never even come close to nukers iml. Wrote a ticket and the response team couldnt be bothered to look at any logs or anythting. 3 rd time was AGAIN for the same reason. I just dont get it. The wizzing/nuking reports could be possible fake reports just to get my acct removed due to the fact i owned 2 servers which were toxic and people troll alot in these type of servers so its common to make enemies who want u gone. Lost ownership to both servers and this happend 1 to 2 weeks after getting nitro everytime. So sad the app was great but then it wasnt.

I really enjoy using discord! I've made many friends and overall has made me more sociable, although, recently my friend bought me nitro! I was very happy, the plan that he bought was the 1 month worth of nitro + 2 server boosts, almost a month later I told him that it would run out soon. Him being the kind person that he is, he bought me another months worth, but when I claimed the nitro, it went into my account credit. I emailed discord support and asked them about this, the solution is simple; just subscribe for another month's worth and it'll automatically use the nitro in your account credit, but the issue is, my phone doesn't have any credit card details that I can put in, of course, I could use mine. Since I'm only 15, my mother needs to know about my transactions, this is an issue because she doesn't allow me to have any online friends, and discord is literally where all my online friends are. Is there anything that you can do to change this feature and make it so you can just press "Use account credit" ???
Overall, I've had no problems with discord except this. I love the app and you should definitely get it!!!

I’ve been using discord for over two years now and I have found very few faults in texting and reviving texts. I love how you have added stages as a new thing and I also love how you can organise your chats into folders. (Although the folders can get a bit hectic sometimes!) I have also found a few things that don’t work as well.. Voice call sometimes lags out even when your both on three bars of WiFi. Video call, is no better as it freezes from time and time again. Adults. Kids are on this app a lot in the holidays, and are being targeted. One of the reasons I rate this app a three is because when a child reports an adult for bullying them or harassing them. It never gets dealt with. Why? Please deal with this issue as it is spreading very quickly….

Amazing app, I have been using discord for 1 and a half years now and it has been great. I’ve been able to meet new people and stay in contact with other people as well as find jobs that revolve around discord! It’s helped me a lot and was a life saver in lockdown. Discord has a discord nitro perk which you can pay for that truly does enhance your experience on discord so I suggest purchasing discord nitro for either £5 per month or £10 per month dependant on which discord nitro you would like however you can find out more about that on the app. One thing I would say needs to be improved is the upload limit for videos which truly has frustrated me however a perk of discord nitro is having a higher limit so you can upload large file sizes. Overall a great app with constant updates and fixes as well as easy help and support when needed!

Now don't get me wrong, I adore Discord. It's helped me form multiple online friendships and even contact my irl friends!! Overall, it's a pretty good app for communicating.
However, I am very angry at Discord. They disabled my friend's account for "breaking TOS or community guidelines". The email was very short, they didn't even tell him how long it was going to be disabled for or what he did. Discord has ruined his sleep schedule and his mental health. Discord was his everything and they banned him for no valid reason.
When my friend got the first email, he emailed them back, asking what he did wrong. However, they replied with the same bloody excuse. After waiting 10-14 hours for another response, you COPY AND PASTE YOUR EMAIL. Your customer service is poor, we need real people to reply for us, not some bot who will copy and paste unreasonable excuses. Unfortunately, he isn't the only person whose account was wrongfully disabled. Many others on Twitter have reported their story.
Please remember that this could happen to ANYONE, including you, so we need your help. We need to get Discord's attention so a real human being will contact us. On Twitter, please retweet the victims' tweets about their disabling situation and use the hashtag #DiscordEXPLAIN
Your help would be heavily appreciated, I don't want anyone else getting their Discord account wrongfully disabled.

Discord is a great platform in general. It’s allowed a huge variety of wide-ranging communities to grow and flourish, in an era where other social media platforms seem to be intent on driving them away.
But the Discord iOS app is a gimped experience that treats its users like small children who can’t make their own decisions when it comes to viewing NSFW content. Even worse, Discord pretends to give its users a choice by including a setting on their desktop app to “show NSFW on iOS”, but this setting doesn’t actually work! NSFW servers are just as blocked whether the setting is on or off.
Now, I’m sure Discord would protest: “it’s the App Store guidelines, it’s not our fault!” So why hasn’t it been a problem until now? And how do other apps with much bigger customer bases - like Twitter and Reddit - handle this issue? Far better than Discord’s developers, cowed into submission by the mighty App Store, at the expense of the communities it claims to support.

one of my friends and i have both noticed that the notifications haven’t been working since saturday. considering the fact he (and many of my other friends) live in the US and i live in the UK, it means i’m not being notified when they are messaging back- and it’s making to harder to talk to each other during the small amount of time we have to talk to each other in the day (considering we are both busy, and he won’t come online until about 10am GMT, and i usually log off around 10/11pm GMT- though that varies depending on the day of the week and how tuckered i am)
discord is a great service beyond that- i’m just mildly inconvenienced by this. would love for it to be fixed! :)) thanks :))

All together it’s a good app, everything is fine and stable and it works fine. So after nearly 4 years of using discord I’ve decided to give it a review. But if that was all it would have got a 5 star review but there are a few bugs in the system.
Every time when I log on from a new device or log in then log in the next few days it will say ‘New location detected’ and I need to go to my email to verify, and I get it, for security reasons if on a different device, but when it’s on the same device I don’t understand. That means that discord account get hacked and attacked a lot.
Discord is a great app. But there are a few bugs in the system. So 5 stars for discord being a good app but -1 star for all the bugs. So that’s why I give discord a 4 star rating. And this is just my opinion.

Discord itself I have no issue with; it’s mostly stable, it’s a good and intuitive platform for discussing games, or even other topics and it’s helped me stave of numerous unpleasant mental states during the pandemic. It’s pretty fabulous for whatever you want or need in a platform, and it’s designed in a way that keeps it simple and easy to get to grips with.
Though I would note the mobile app doesn’t have some of the more useful features, and often (if not always) applies a white background to PNGs you upload, meaning if you want some custom emotes or pfp with no background, you need to go ahead and use the browser platform anyway.
However, I would note that I personally have a problem with at least someone in the help team. I switched to a new account, and I was unable to apply my apple ID to my discord account; I contacted the discord team, who told me it was an apple issue, and the apple team told me it was a problem with discord. Basically both groups pointed at each other, and ultimately told me I needed to wait 180 days at least. I waited, and after the time period it still didn’t work; so keep in mind that if you want to switch account, you will need to use a non-apple form of payment if you want any sort of Nitro. Though if you want to try anyway, I suggest having the refund apple page open in your browser, because you’re going to need it, since they’ll still take the money anyway.

I genuinely love Discord and I use it pretty much all the time. I love the emotes and Nitro (though it is a little expensive). When I’m on PC, there aren’t any problems and it works just great but when I’m on mobile it always crashes and takes forever to load. And there are also times where it completely crashes, logs me out and resets all my frequently used emotes. And it’s been doing that a lot. It gets really annoying sometimes. I have no idea why it’s doing that. It was working fine until a couple of months ago (I’ve been using Discord for almost 2 years I think). Maybe it’s because I’m in like 100 servers (was only in 20 servers until a few months ago) and my phone’s memory just can’t handle it. It might get fixed if I buy a new phone but this iPhone 8 of mine still has a few years left before it becomes unusable. Until then I guess I’ll just have to stick with Discord crashing all the time.

This has been one of the worst social media apps I’ve ever used, been on the app for about 2 years and have had 3 different accounts, I’ve had them deleted over and over again for reasons that do not make sense as I followed every rule they had, too full of toxicity that needs to be fixed and full of weirdos and creeps, they are banning the wrong people, and DO NOT TRY to waste your time with them because they will ignore you for days on end or just give a copy and paste email, absolutely shocking service they need to get sorted out, good idea of a platform but they need to fix out priorities and ban the creeps and weirdos. Also when you ask for proof of the breaking of the rules they just send the same email again and ignore you after that, so in practice anyone could report anyone and get discord to ban them, or give lots of evidence to ban a certain person who has broken rules and they ignore and dismiss it, this app is shocking and discord i would advise to steer clear of

So I’ve had discord for a couple of months and it’s been great so far, however the reason I’m writing this review is because I’ve recently changed the WiFi password to my WiFi and what happens is if I’m on discord for a long time it will start saying that the WiFi password is incorrect and neither is the old WiFi password. I know it has something to do with discord because I uninstalled discord for a couple of hours and all was fine, I installed it and the problem happened again after 20 minutes. As I said before tho it’s perfect apart from this recent error.

I tried installing it again and now it’s telling me to show I’m not a robot, and tells me to click verify once I’ve clicked all the pages that have a fire hydrant in them but what happens is that a second after I click the images of a fire hydrant it resets to a new picture and eventually I run out of fire hydrants to click on and I just pressed verify and it says that both my email and password was incorrect even though it’s correct and idk what to do. Please help

First off I have to say. Discord is the only messaging app I use these days. I am a gamer and I play with people from different parts of the country. One is from Asia and one is from America and I am currently in Africa. There is no lag at all between calls and it doesn’t take longer that 4 seconds to join a voice channel in a server. It is just too smooth. The use of bots in discord is what I say makes the app itself. You can program certain bots yourself or you can add ones people have already made into a server. I play pubg myself and one time there were microphone issues going on in the game and we simply, without no hassle, we went into a discord call and it was in much better quality anyways. I have been using this app for so long and I do recommend that you shall get it and try it yourself! 5 stars for me😆

Ok I know that sounds sad but when I first downloaded discord i didn’t have a phone and it was the only way I could communicate with my friends and my long distance partner. It was the way I fell in love with one of my friends by seeing the other side of them. It was the way I met and lost friends. I am homeschooled and I basically had a whole life’s worth of school drama in 8 months- discord changed me and ruined my life but also made my life better. I lost friends and 2 girlfriends but I met my current girlfriend on there and I really love her. Yes we are being safe and not sharing too personal information or anything, we just talk about things & are there for each other and I’m so glad I found her and my other friends.

If you want to use discord I’d highly recommend the pc version. The mobile app has many faults that can make the experience frustrating. For example it never rings/notifies you whenever someone is calling or sends you a message even with notifications turned on. This can lead to people thinking you’re ignoring them but in reality the call just didn’t come up. On a few other occasions it has this strange glitch where it’ll ring like someone is calling you and when you answer it you find out that the call was a missed call from an hour ago and it’s only decided to tell you about it now. Talking of which calls randomly drop/cut off for no reason at all even with perfect internet connection so I find myself having to use other apps just to be able to voice chat for more than 3 minutes. I’m using a iPhone 11 with good internet so I don’t really understand these issues. Discord is a great app to communicate with and it offers some unique features, however I believe that they need to focus a little more on the mobile version because it can be frustrating to say the least.
Great app! Needs some improvements.

I’ve been using Discord every day now for 3 years and it’s great how it’s progressed from its earlier stages to the amazing thing it is now. There are some improvements that can be made.
For starters, I always get in VC’s (voice chats) with my friends in Group DM’s usually on my computer but whilst I’m in that VC, I’m also doing other things on my computer so when I’m looking through Discord whilst in the VC, I use my phone. But if I go into the Group DM to send a message, I sometimes accidentally press the join button at the bottom of the screen so then I disconnect from my computer and join on my mobile. The button is so close to where I need to press to bring up the chat bar.
Secondly, I use Apple Pay to pay for my Nitro subscription and I can’t boost servers because it’s not supported with iOS purchases, which I don’t understand why it’s not, which then gets frustrating because one of the reasons I have nitro is to boost servers.

Ok so Uhm, I know something was really really weird at first when changing your profile, let's say I have a cat picture, it's either my profile pointing at the background or at its ears, this is a great chatting channel but seriously I do not want my profile to be a profile or pointing at its ear, Here's the story, I found a really cute cat picture, I wanted it to be my profile, but I kinda messed up, my profile was the ears, and if I try to zoom in, it still points to the ears or it's background, before this was really really normal, now what happened, does it have to do to you, Discord, or something went wrong in the picture, also I am using an iOS aswell, so I think that's the problem, or something went wrong, if you are reading this thank you, if you are up to help with this problem, thank you very much, I wanted to give you 5 stars, but please fix this problem, would appreciate if you've fixed this.

Great app! few bugs here and there, but they get sorted within the week.
However, one thing I would change is the support, rather than the staff members just copying and pasting a large text, Atleast have them actually look into the issue aswell, also it would be nice to be able to have a live support chat rather than having to constantly waiting for an email.
Also it would be nice to have the ability for server owners to allow stereo voice audio for us musicians on discord. What I mean is the Owner or any staff member of amy server cam check a box saying the person or role is allowed to use stereo audio, like what Bots have. Rather than us using a third party software like Ripcord. Trust me, if stereo audio was a thing in discord, no one would use a third party software.

Been using discord both on desktop and iOS for almost 2 years now and honestly its fantastic. Ive made some great friends and incredible memories. However with the most recent update of the iOS app there seems to be an extremely odd bug when i try to load discord up while the iOS voice over function is active the app tells me that discord has crashed, but when i load it without voice over it works fine. I need the voice over to use the app as i am blind. On that note, i would strongly recommend taking a look at the element mapping in the discord app and the elements labels. A lot of apps label their elements really obscure and it makes it very difficult to understand what certain buttons are on the app. Granted discord isnt anywhere near as bad as other apps but its worth knowing. Other then that the app is perfect and im glad to be a nitro user.

after using this for 3 years i felt like i had to give a review lol
brilliant app, so much easier and smoother than other social media that tries to accomplish the same thing. the way servers exist with channels for different topics as well as private messages and group chats makes this absolutely supreme for chatting with friends, and establishing communities. looks super smart, doesn’t take up space and is wayyy faster to load than skype or similar alternatives. brilliant for messaging through phone or pc, and looks/performs just as good either way. AND doesn’t take up much mobile data!! my only problem is with the battery consumption, but that’s the case with most social media- it’s probably more to do with the technical side of sending and receiving messages at such a rapid rate, but it would be nice all the same if it didn’t take down my battery quite as fast. overall, fab app, it’s amazing how the devs seem to just continue improving such an already incredible app :)

I really enjoy using discord it is great but I wish they add co ownership this app is great for talking to friends making friends and a nice base tool for using roblox which can get hash tag out which can be annoying now it doesn’t which is great for minecraft and fortnite also many other games I enjoy discord as I have made lots of friends and most people are kind and it is in a controlled environment for younger users which I find safe and great having control but being allowed no hash tags is one of the nicest features of this app I have also found updates quite recent meaning the game is fresh and cleaned from bugs stopping your phone/iPad etc. As I use discord almost every day I feel this app is very good and I haven’t had any problems except when I was getting started the buttons can be a little confusing not that much though but after a while it’s just second nature the download for this app is really easy and it is a full on 5 starts for me I couldn’t fault this app

I really like the app but it is missing a lot of features from the desktop version. One of the feature i would love to see is the ability to actually jump to a chat from search bar. I don’t know why the search bar is there if it doesn't jump to the actual message that you can edit/delete/react to. Also the ability to mark a channel or the whole server as read so you don’t have to go through every channel to remove those white unread dots. These small things will really make the mobile version a lot better. And ability to jump to pinned message and being able to edit. Lastly, if we get a little tweaked version of discord for iPad which looks alot more like desktop version, i think that would be a game changer. Thanks!

When the app works it’s great, you can customise your channel, add bots and do all sorts of things. Perfect for phones and tablets to be in voice communication with fellow gamers. It does have some serious bugs tho... if you log out and try logging in the next day you always get a message saying something along the lines of ‘this account was trying to be accessed from a new location” which to me doesn’t sound very good and would indicate that the program is constantly under attack by hackers. If you keep it logged in tho there doesn’t seem to have this issue. Another issue is that if there is a minor interruption in your WiFi it doesn’t reconnect but keeps you logged in, (people can hear you but you can’t hear anyone else)... also from time to time the server goes altogether allowing nobody online at all! This doesn’t seem to be very often but I feel that the issues regarding reconnecting after micro disconnects and the issues regarding having to stay logged in due to fear of your account being compromised is something to worry about. Who knows, by installing this app I could be being listened to even if I’m not even in a voice channel?... pls fix these issues soon. I’ve been using the app for months and have seen no attempt by the developers to correct what should be very simple errors and flaws.

If you haven't been living in Skype for the past several years. You'll have heard of Discord. It's shares a few basic functions with Teamspeak, but is so much better visually, and in terms of its approach to dealing with issue. Take a read of any patch note and you'll understand. The developers feel 'human.' Instead of simply putting patches out there, ignoring the user base. They interact with them frequently, often requesting 'loading lines,' (Which, in this context, are comedic sentences that are displayed during loading screens). This comes together nicely, and has you appreciate the App so much better. Their are bugs no and then, but the community will quickly inform the devs, and then they patch it. Overall, if you're a gamer on PC, get it. If you'd prefer to talk to people when console gaming, without the need of setting up mics and utilising the console, then get it. One of the easiest 5* I've ever given.
