A seriously good film, the best I have seen in some years, and quite unexpected. Don't get me wrong, I like Jason Bateman and usually do enjoy his films, but from this film's description I was expecting something pretty good with the usual disappointing tail-off and duff ending. EPIC FAIL BY ME. Nope, this was rivetting from start to finish, everything I look for in a thriller including tension, suspense, plausibility, intrigue, style, meaning, class and, above all, a fantastic, jaw-dropping, show stopper of an ending - and without any disjointed fanfares, naff effects or ridiculous twists. From a technical standpoint this film had everything too, flow, cohesion, continuity, superb character-building, excellent acting (not to mention casting), brilliant direction and a natural crescendo to just about the best ending I can remember. I usually only write reviews (tbh) when I am so appalled by a film that I feel I have a social duty to warn others(!), but this was a pleasure to jump online for and review, because it is so rarely that this ardent film-lover gets such an incredible treat. I will be watching this again and again and again for many years to come. My advice? Don't hesitate - buy it now. Thank you prodcucers and cast.
