No where near as good as the 1st one. Wouldn't bother.
Courtney (Shannyn Sossamon) and her twin boys, Zach and Dylan, have moved into a seemingly idyllic secluded old house in an attempt to start a new life. But the building has a secret: it is the scene of a gruesome ritualistic murder which bears a striking resemblance to a series of family slayings that have taken place over the past fifty years.
A private detective (James Ransone) investigating the recent massacre of a famous author and his family is led to Courtney and her children, whom he believes will be the next victims. As he pieces together the mystery behind the murders he uncovers an ancient myth that means the killer might be someone – or something - more evil than anything he could have imagined.
It's really really dumb! It is.. It doesn't make sense.. The writing is awful.. Acting terrible.. None of the scares made me jump.. Horror films lost there way a long time ago.. Now horror films are just dumb..
I did enjoy this one, gave me nightmares for a week, but would rent again
I really really liked the first film and so feel invested in the franchise just like Paranormal Activity. This film is fine but nothing more. I wouldn’t watch it again although I enjoyed it the first time.
It’s not as disturbing as the first and the kids films start to get a bit tenuous as there’s only so many gruesome scenarios. However, I wanted to see more of the central ghoul and they didn’t disappoint. There are a few really good jump scares which I like. Overall I’d recommend it if you liked the first film. I’d like to see what more they can get from the premise.
Good film just like the first one 👍 must see :)
