Description

This gripping dark psychological thriller from the producers of 'The Guest' and 'You're Next' follows infamous psychologist Ansel Roth (Leland Orser) as he is recruited by a pair of desperate parents to kidnap and deprogram their daughter, Claire (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), who is under the grip of a mysterious new cult called Faults. Ansel is one of the world’s foremost authorities on mind control. He even used to have a TV show. But Ansel’s speciality, deprogramming cult members and returning them to their families, is not an exact science. Mistakes were made, lives were lost. Now, even his own book publisher is looking to break his legs. Ansel sure could do with the cash that Claire’s parents are offering. Ansel kidnaps Claire and sets to work on this fragile and vulnerable young woman. But Claire reveals herself to be a formidable challenge for the old pro; her belief is unshakeable and her logic is undeniable. A battle of wits develops between the two, and as they delve deeper into each other’s minds, the question soon becomes, just who is the one being deprogrammed?

Dodgy Religion

Great cast, direction and acting. Thouroughly enjoyable and dark; but in a theatrical way. It felt like a play. But brilliantly done. I agree this is a cult movie yet to be discovered by more.

Terrific film

Apart from the very excellent central performances, the pacing is very carefully controlled, so that even at points where the characters’ transformations may be slightly unbelievable, we go along with it, because we want to see what happens, and then in retrospect, we gladly suspend our disbelief. Best film I’ve seen on iTunes in a long while. Will definitely become a cult classic and grace the video collections of all good people!

Faults is a Hidden Gem

Please go watch this movie. Really deserves to be a cult classic. From the same filmmakers as The Guest. Director is clearly talented. Performances are excellent and tension is deftly crafted. Despite the title there is little to Fault with this movie. Has a very similar feel to the Coen Bros. early films. Riley Stearns the director is one to watch!
