fantasic film must watch!!

at first i was unsure about tom hardy playing both roles as the kray brothers. but he pulled it off amazing acting work. the film is very interesting plenty of action and the script is well written. classic gangster film right here.

Terrible.

Hardy is one of my favourite actors but this movie is horrific. The story seems to go no where and not one of the characters can be taken seriously.

The worst "cockney gangster film" I have seen, and there are some very bad ones.

Proper old British

Portrays the infamous Kray gang amazingly. Only criticism is that it doesn't show emphasis on what the Krays really did.

Legendary (excuse the pun)

Tom Hardy's portrayal of both twins was astounding, normally this would be quite confusing to have one actor playing two rules but Hardy is superb and professional. Although not entirely accurate having read the profession of violence and the kray's autobiographies having it told from Frances' point of view was insightful and made it worth the watch.

It's not terrible

I absolutely love this film Tom Hardy is fantastic. Absolutely loved him in mad max and his other films however this has got to be my favourite. Plays the twins fantastically literally forget it's the same person playing them. One of my all time favourite films now and for me beats the original. I'm a chick and I loved it!

Totally shocked I liked this movie! It's surprisingly endearing at times and violent other times. Great story telling and really good acting, gets your emotions going. Well deserving of 5 stars.

The movie is well worth watching nicely acted, the story has been told & retold, I hope this is the last, no mention of Charlie or the Dad, Tom Hardy does a decent job at playing both parts, not violent enough though, I have seen bigger scraps in my local boozer.

If it wasnt for Hardy....

Hardy was his usual brilliant self, without his watchability, the storyline was weak, went over a Kray story which we have all seen/heard a million times (jack the hat, cornell). Well worth a watch, but could have been soooo much better

I too had my reservations after thoroughly enjoying the original Krays film. After watching it I was pleasantly surprised just how good it was. Tom Hardy, who I didn't really think of as a top top actor also changed my mind, he is absolutely outstanding in this film & deserves any accolades he receives!! The film does have a lot more comical moments, but it is all the better for it with the psychotic moments in between. Very nearly 5*s

Amazing!

Tom Hardy was absolutely wonderful as both brothers. I haven't seen any of the past Kray films to make a true comparison but this film is truly amazing and I haven't been able to stop listening to the soundtrack. Sometimes the film lacked a core to its story but nevertheless I've recommended it to everyone!

Massive letdown

I was looking forward to this film for ages so I was massively disappointed when I finally saw it.

The storyline is disjointed with huge chunks missing and honestly hardys portrayal of Ronnie was way over the top.

As others have said, the Kemps version of The Krays is a much better film.

I love Tom Hardy in most of his movies so was really looking forward to this, I was so disappointed, although he's good, the film is terrible, it's more comedy than gangster, not sure it's all accurate too but each to their own, I prefer the Kemp bros version better.

Hardy worth it !

Even if you're not intrigued by the world of the Krays, you have to see this for Tom Hardy's double performance as Ron and Reg. Probably the best performance I've seen to date. Even without Hardy, it would have been worth watching for the story.

As a massive fan of the Krays with the kemp brothers I thought this portrayal was very good, certainly blows 'rise of the krays' out of the water which I thought was more for TV than a movie...

TH is fantastic and as another review stated once you get over its the same actor it's totally believable. I'd recommend it to anyone.
