The film is good.
However this review is about Itunes absolutely APPALLING SERVICE. they do not allow you to download your purchase to watch where you want. Instead they give a terrible glitchy download that does not play the picture properly so you are denied access to something you have paid them for. Do not download this film from here it doesn't work despite several attempts to do this. THis is not the only time this has happened, I have several other purchases from TV series which do exactly the same thing. This should not be happening. AVOID ITUNES.

I first saw Spectre at the cinema,an absolute beautiful film and should not be compared with the others, which are individually great in there own right.Daniel Craig again delivers a great performance and so do all the cast.Sound, special effects and stunts are all well achieved and each location beautifully shot.I cannot fault this film,I love it and for £3.99 in HD this was a bargain and essential purchase to my collection.

First off - it's a good Bond film and well worth watching. I'm a big fan of Daniel Craig in the role and he does bring out more of Bond's character than some of his predecessors, touching on some of the glimpses Fleming allowed us to get of the inner man as well as the blunt instrument. But, for me, the gem of the Craig era remains Casino Royale despite Spectre comprising some fantastic scenes and action sequences. The storyline that runs throughout these scenes is the weakest area and does let the film down slightly.
In Spectre I found scriptwriters and producer alike had tried to load so much into the film that inevitably the ending became an anticlimax because preceeding scenes appeared to better it. The scriptwriters appeared to have taken scenes from the Bond back catalogue (From Russia wih Love, Casino Royale, View to a Kill, OHMSS to mention a few) and sewn them together into a compendium of "best bits" which was disappointing. There are also too many members of the cast competing to get into the action; Moneypenny, Tanner, Q and M all end up under fire and entangled in front line duties which rather makes it look like a free for all at times. Stronger storylines and a heavier hand on the edit button next outing please.
There's also something about Bond Villains that Mendes doesn't quite pull off. Waltz doesn't exude the kind of menace that he managed in Inglorious Bastards which was also the case with Javier Bardem whose character in Skyfall was tame in comparison to his role in No Country for Old Men. Perhaps this is to make the franchise more accessible for younger audiences or perhaps it is Mendes' vision of how a villain should be portrayed. Either way I felt a bit shortchanged on villainy.
The increasing return of gadgets wasn't overly welcome; going through the whole reportoire of the latest Aston during the Rome pursuit scene including the finale was a throw back to the bad old days. The watch on the other hand was not as bad as it could have been, and the laser listening device is existing technology so entirely feasible.
The films epilogue may show fans of OHMSS a glimpse of the next Bond outing. I hope Daniel Craig remains in the role for that and equally hope the next producer avoids trying to throw everything including the kitchen sink into one film. If I could choose who that producer would be I'd opt for Martin Campbell - I thought he got the balance of style, substance, hero and villain, plot and sub plot absolutely right on Casino Royale and Goldeneye and the next film needs to get back to these basics . As for the script writers - how about give Sebastien Faulks a try ? - Devil May Care was a better interprestation of Fleming's work than recent storylines.

It was always going to be tough after Skyfall (arguably the best Bond movie) but Spectre was woefully poor for me. A very tired and predictable plot spattered with some truly awful cgi scenes and a very mediocre car chase.

If you like to drool over cars, suits, watches or interior design then maybe this movie is for you. As cinematic entertainment, Spectre left me feeling cheated. Rubbish music, awful dialogue, unconvincing villains, unimaginative plot. The secretive Spectre criminal organisation stole two and a half hours of my life I will never get back.

Tired...the film made me tired watching it and the 'formula' is so tired it needs a very long rest. Alas, the films continue to make big money so there is no respite in sight.
One thing then... The fight on the train. I was back in 1970 something watching Jaws grappling with dear old Roger Moore. Can't they come up with anything original?
Craig needed better material but there ain't no Fleming. Give it a rest...Please!

An improvement on the truly Skyfall (no Bond on Transport for London this time) but Daniel Craig still looks a gastropub Bond and a bit on the small, pouty side.... Also not sure (well, i am sure) if Sam Mendes knows how to make action films.... Lots of stylised shots again but gaping narrative howlers and a very poor final 30 minutes.... Such a shame.... There must be someone out there who can make a decent Bond film again??

Well - let’s start with the best bit - the opening sequence is great. The helicopter flying is literally breath-taking, but even here the problem with the film starts to show. The building collapses under Bond, but he ends up landing on a sofa… And that’s how it goes on, there are several great moments but the, somehow, there is little sense of danger. The worst culprit is the car chase - very disappointing.
And the most annoying thing is that there are all the ingredients for a great film in there! Every actor does a great job, we know Sam Mendes is a great director, the film looks fantastic - but I think here-in lies the problem. Everything is too smooth. And predictable. And NO ONE DIES - on Bond’s side that is… Casino Royale had Vesper, Quantum of Solace had Mathis and in Skyfall, M. In this you just seem to know everyone will be alright.
Then we come the bit that annoys me the most - Bond shooting down Blofeld’s helicopter with his Walther PPK - which is bad enough - but from how far away and how far below? A Lotus Esprit submarine is more believable...
It’s such a shame, instead of having a film that is greater than the sum of it’s parts, we have the exact opposite. So many good bits, but you come out feeling you ate too much Christmas dinner. The food was great but you overdid it.

A film of 2 halves

The first half of this film is as good as Skyfall and really enjoyable. The second half however seems to forget all the build up in the first half and the villain creation that had gone on and goes terribly wrong. A rushed villain base scene trying to emulate the earlier bond films failed miserably! The final scenes of the were almost unbearable with the bad guy being nothing like the criminal master mind he was made out to be. Overall very disappointing!

Not one of the best, not one of the worst, and sort of didn't feel like a bond film in the traditional sense, but then again, who wants to see the same film over and over ? Some of the action was good, it was just spread too far apart, with no real flow or direction in between.

If you are looking for an intellectually stimulating film with deep meaningful dialogue, then you are likely to be disappointed with this latest Bond offering. However, if you are looking for pure entertainment with the usual Bond spills and thrills then this is one of the best. The film opens with Bond strutting purposely through Mexico City wearing a death mask in the Day of the Dead parade, and from that moment on you know Bond means dangerous business.
Chases and special effects are right up there, and the film rakes you along with it at a relentless pace.
OK, much of it is predictable in that Bond wins, the bad guys lose. So what? The show must go on and this is one of the best for action!

Loved this latest instalment of the Bond franchise. Such a sense of ironic completion that it must be Daniel Craig's last outing as JB. Beautifully shot around a fluid plot with so many nods to previous Bond moments through history. Perhaps the biggest departure in this film is the introduction of Thomas Newman behind the soundtrack. Touches of 'Road to Perdition' with Newman's excellent percussive style wrapped around the traditional bond theme. Overall this film doesn't eclipse Casino Royale or Skyfall but is as equally as glossy and masterful.

Opening scene was smashing but the storyline was weak. Casino Royal was amazing followed by Quantum of Solace and Skyfall. I think Skyfall is better than this one; in terms of action, storylines and a classic villan like the 60s and 70s Bond movies. But watched it once and I think that's enough for me.

I was expecting more after Skyfall. The story never realises its potential. It wanders around from set piece to set piece, and never grips or gets as gritty or tense as Skyfall. Too many “tributes” to past Bond films, especially the train fight scene. And as a villain, Christoph Waltz could have been brilliant but never reached the heights of potential villainy. Thumbs down.

Sean Connery was 32 when he played in Dr. No in 1962 so, by all rights, James Bond should be 86 by now. Is James Bond the name of a position in the Secret Service because this is a completely different James Bond (and there have been others)? This James Bond does not have the presence and charisma of earlier people in the James Bond job. The story was weak, the villain forgettable. Come back Cubby Broccoli!

Everyone involved seemed to be on autopilot throughout the making of this film. The action scenes are slick, but lack any real tension (save for maybe the sequence in Mexico), Craig does absolutely nothing to stand out and the script thinks it's far better than it actually is. For a film called 'Spectre', you would expect Spectre to actually be integral to the plot, but, as it stands, the organisation has little more than a cameo and Bond spends the rest of the film going after only one of its members! What a waste of potential!

Spectre is a lot like my eighty-six year old Dad; both are reassuringly familiar, both have their moments, and every now and then you remember what is is about them that you loved. Yet unfortunately, they are both also somewhat confused, are often dull, and tend to go on and on.
Marketed as the best Bond ever (did you fall for that?), when you have a great cast and an excellent production team, only the story and the script can go wrong. And go wrong it does. Overly long and full of cliché's, although it looks beautiful, Spectre lacks cohesion and pace, with the location scenes - wonderful though they are - somehow not connected to each other. The retro fit back story of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. into the first three Craig films is not as clever or convincing as team EON would like to think, the car chase through Rome is sluggish (how is this possible with an Aston Martin and a Jag?), and many of the cast are disappointingly underused.
Overall, and as my dear old Dad would say, Spectre is 'all mouth, and no trousers’.

Weak plot, lack of consistency, very slow in many places and extremely underwhelming special effects. The worst off all, and I mean all, the bond films.
