One of the worst movies I have ever seen Not a comedy by a long shot. really bad acting too.
This BAFTA Cymru winning Comedy, best described as 'Clerks' meets 'A Dog Day Afternoon’ follows best friends Ajay (Ray Panthaki - BAFTA Breakthrough Brit, Kidulthood, Ali G) and Shaan (Adeel Akhtar - Four Lions, PAN), as they attempt to rob a petrol station Convenience store to clear a debt owed to some Russian gangsters from a strip club. However, things don’t go exactly to plan when they discover that the petrol station’s safe is on a time lock and won’t open until 6am. Desperate and with their lives on the line, the hapless pair decide to tie up the feisty supervisor Levi (Vicky McClure - BAFTA Winner, This is England), disguise themselves as workers and wait it out… with outrageous consequences.
One night. Two men. Three hostages. No clue.
Just rented this and worth every penny, had both myself and the wife laughing out loud all the way to the end, some great cameos in there too, I think this sums up the british sense of humour, and don’t switch off until the credits are rolling as the outtakes made us laugh too, proper fun film!
Slow paced film with no originality in the storyline or characters. Performances are cliched particularly the character with the speech impediment. I was hoping for something better than this mediocre attempt at a comedy.
I gave this two stars for the fact that Vicky McClure was in it. I usually love the indie stuff but It's not even funny. Really, don't waste your money.
This film really touches the heart. It's funny, great casting, well written and will become a classic. I might have to watch it again
Went out and caught this after kermodes review. Pleasantly surprised - funny stuff, great double act but with some touching moments.
A great film and clever story with enough comedy to make this a British cult classic. Produced and starring the very talented and experienced Ray Panthaki, I look forward to seeing more like this soon! Brilliant stuff.
Great indie comedy with top acting talent, script and direction. Highly enjoyable!
ITS A NICE FILM .ALAS NOT A GREAT FILM .
I love being surprised by a film and this did just that. After watching the trailer I was hoping it would be funny but you know how trailers are these days. All the funny bits are in them. I'm happy to say this is an exception... I laughed out loud through out this film. The performances were strong and bolstered by an equally strong script. I hope this gets all the credit it deserves as a funny British comedy.
This film is hilarious but it also has some serious moments. It's brilliant. Definitely worth a watch.
Just watched, what a great British film to support, can't believe it took just 18 days to shoot on a low budget , but with a great script and great performances from the cast make Convenience one of the best comedies I've seen in a long time... a true hit, recommend to everyone
A standout comedy in its total contrast to the usual blockbuster productions. Low budget but full of laughs!
Excellent movie and well worth the watch. It will have you laughing out loud and cringing at the same time with all the intertwined plot lines . Great cast with some very familiar faces and if you get british comedy then you will definitely get this movie..just go see it !
Congrats to the makers of this film- it is brilliant! The casting is phenomenal! The actors have great chemistry, delivery and its such an accessible story that will entertain and surprise you. Convenience is packed full of laughs, fun and a whole lot of heart.
Convenience breathes life into a rather tired genre. It is rare to find a comedy that hits all the high notes, and watching its two leads displaying incredible chemistry and charm makes every minute of the film both highly entertaining and intuitvely compelling. Despite starting as a typical situational comedy, it evolves into so much more, revealing hidden depths that give the middle of the film the kind of emotional hook often missing from the genre. The film has that ethos that you've seen the film before, even if it is your very first time. Its cheeky cameos work brilliantly, and each time the door opens you wonder who might be next. I was really hoping Arnold Schwarzenneger might walk in for a late night beer and packet of crisps. But even the weight of its cameos cannot pull our eyes from the stella cast, who own every minute of the film. In much the same spirit of the Americam indie films it tries to emulate, Convenience is a cult classic on the rise.
Owning a cineworld card, I watch a lot of movies. I enjoy the comedy genre but it's not often something makes you laugh out loud. On a budget that is less than a tenth of what some films are made on, Convenience made me laugh and had a real sense of character and honesty that is so refreshing. Coming from a place of talented individuals working together on a labour of love to create something that is well put together, laugh out loud funny and thoroughly entertaining through and through, I can only commend the producer and cast on what is a significant triumph in Independent film making. Inspiring, enjoyable and most of all a great watch.
Just watched the movie in the cinema. Loved everything bit of it. One of the best movies I have seen this year. Had me laughing all the way through. Love it love it.
