Adonis Johnson never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there's no denying that boxing is in his blood; so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed's legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo - the fierce rival who became his closet friend. Agreeing to take him on, Rocky trains the young fighter, even as the former champ is battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring. The only decent things were, Stallone and in minor part, the main event. The acting throughout was awful. None of the characters were believable. It was a remake of Rocky, but without any rawness or grit. The main character looked better suited to a hip hop video dancing or singing than a boxer at any weight. Very weak and I only watched it through to the end because of Stallone.

its a remake of rocky but Apollos son. from the streets and given an opportunity to fight the champ (tony bellew the real world champ who is axtually very good in the film). He gets the fight and does well but losses... sound familiar ?

Always on the Money

If you loved Rocky then you will love this film too...yes it can be a bit far fetched at times however isnt that the very thing that got us all hooked on Rocky and his heart of a stallion? Great to watch together with a band of brothers. Enjoy!

Ok but seen it all before

Ok so we know this film attempts to revamp the rocky franchise (many will deny it of course) but it's all very much been done in the other 500 Rocky films.

The saving grace is the acting is very good and the film is well made albeit about 30mins longer than it needed to be.

We have had Creed so now expect 'Mickey' (after the coach) or 'Lang Vs Drago' (Rocky's opponents in Rocky 3 and 4) next.

Excellent Movie

I really enjoyed this movie - the fighting was impressive aside from the final fight which went a little too cliche’. The commentators also didn’t feel very natural or authentic, which was a shame. Overall though the story was compelling and it was just as much of a journey for Rocky as it was for young Creed. Well worth a watch!

won’t buy from iTunes due to cost

Not a comment on the quality of the film - saw it at the cinema and thought it was great. I think we have to remind iTunes that we will not buy a standard definition film if it is over ten pounds. The supermarkets, high street shops and a certain website have to be competitive with their prices and I will boycott this film until the cost comes down. Which again,bit of a shame as it’s a solid film but hey ho. Will of course resubmit review when price changes. Until then - watching Rocky 4 again...

I absolutely adore this movie. The soundtrack is incredible, the acting great, the fight scenes jaw-dropping. Above all you can tell the writer & director, Ryan Coogler, cares deeply about the Rocky franchise. There are so many little nods to the originals that are great if you are a fan but also don’t get in the way of the story. My girlfriend has never seen Rocky and she loved it! Highly recommend and buy the film as you will want to rewatch some of the matches again and again!

Quality film..

Loved the rocky films, so this was a must see at the cinema. It was better than I expected, such a good drama. On the edge of my seat at times, shed a few tears and I want to go watch it again!

Amazing film

For a film of its type, it's actually very good I love the tension it gives and the build up. My favourite bit is when it gives us a quick over lay of who the opposition is what's the strong point. It's something new and I love it, I highly recommend this film
