The dinosaur falls over far to much and it would be better if the dinosaur wasn't bruised all the time, it got tiresome in the end it had a touching moment and that was a good ending
From the innovative minds of Disney•Pixar comes a hilariously heartwarming adventure about the power of confronting and overcoming your fears and discovering who you are meant to be. The Good Dinosaur asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely, and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? In this epic journey into the world of dinosaurs, an apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns what he is truly capable of and how to make his mark on the world.
Perfectly watchable and my 3 years old daughter enjoyed immensely, but it's didn't feel like it was sprinkled with the Disney Magic!
Beautiful, understated film. This is what I like about animated films, they bother with a story! Breathtaking animation, a nod to courage in the face of adversity, and of course a welcome sprinkling of humour. Great film.
How to disturb your children… This film has no remorse and very little in terms of happiness or entertainment. Animation is fantastic, but has a plot with no heart, little warmth and written along the lines of an epic. I am very sorry to say this but should not have a PG rating unless your kids are habitually accustomed to losing parents, being set crazy goals that they cannot achieve without a coming of age experience and somehow interested in being crushed, drowned, eaten … I love every other film by PIXAR but this one is a definite miss. Moving on… quickly….
One of the funniest films I've seen in a while and it's so sweet it'll make u wanna watch it again...
I have no idea why people like this movie so much. Honestly, Pixar and Disney made so much better movies in the past, and seeing this one left me very disappointed and thinking - Pixar - really..?
1-2 year olds will love it I'm sure, but adults who will have to watch it over and over again will just get irritated. To me the plot is shallow and stretched at most, moral values tied in it will give you " oh come on!" reaction and the end as well as the beginning (a shocker for a Pixar movie that usually presents quality introduction to the story) are very disappointing. I got dragged into renting it after watching a trailer but unfortunately, the trailer is very misleading. Shame to see, really. Save your money and rent some other (any other) Pixar/Disney movie that will teach your kids much more and will be entertaining for you as well.
State of the art scenery rending is the best i have seen yet from Pixar. Really hard to tell from reality at times.
I think there was a deliberate choice to draw Arlo and the other creatures in a a conflicting cartoonish style and once i got over that and just enjoyed the tale it really rolled along.
The story is nothing new or original but thats hardly the point. It still had me engaged very soon. The doglike portrayal of alt-humans was really cute.
Love Pixar films normally, but this was below par...
This film was good and had a nice moral however it made me and my family cry because it was very sad
Nice Pixar film. Not the best but certainly not the worst cough ...... Cars 2 ..... cough!
We found this quite a miserable film to watch. The story started out very bleakly and ended near enough the same. It was very simplistic, and lacked the more adult nods of humour found in films like 'Despicable Me' or 'Hotel Transylvania' that I've come to expect.
The animation was the best I have seen (particularly the water), at times I had to remind myself that this wasn't real, it was 'just' graphics.
Unfortunately there's only so far you can go with a struggling dinosaur who can't find his feet. It won't be something I watch again, but the skill of the animation is undeniable.
Don't believe the naysayers reviewing the movie. Yes it doesn't follow the formula of blockbuster animated movies but it is refreshingly simple and visually stunning.
Kinda boring, but it does have its moments....
I got this to watch with my two kids and my wife we all loved it very funny but also pulls at the heart strings made two 40 year olds cry! The kids loved it and it gets 5 stars from us to!
Looking forward to watching this must say I was left disappointed. Visually stunning background but the dinosaur and boy looked like they were in the wrong movie. More realistic would have suited the background. Some places felt like I was just watching a lion king remake. Didn't bond with the characters nor did I care for them. Shame. Not pixars finest hour. *puts in the the box with cars 2 and planes.
Pixar always manage to tug at the heartstrings and this movie is no different. The characters are likeable and funny, the CGI is excellent and the story is great, if not original - think Lion King 2.0 with most protagonists present.
Suitable for all ages and was enjoyed by both my 9 year old and 6 year old - and mom and dad of course.
Too many clips of the dinosaur stumbling and falling over - grows tiresome. Not as clever, smart or funny as you can usually expect from Pixar. Nothing original here.
Really good movie great story line and our 5 year only loved it
Just awful.. Very poor story line.. Not suitable for younger children are my triplets were worried through most of it, watching through closed fingers.. Just awful
There’s no doubt that this film isn’t the best Pixar has made to date, but that certainly doesn’t mean you shouldn’t watch it. The visual graphics in this film are stunning and look incredibly realistic, the characters are likeable and most of all, it’s one of very few films that got me emotional, especially towards the end. It plays with your heart and Pixar have succeeded in this perfectly.
However, the story is a little bland and unoriginal and doesn’t really offer anything new we’ve seen in Hollywood before, which for Pixar seems a little odd as they’re renowned for making great stories in their films.
Overall, Pixar shine on the visuals, soundtrack, characters and emotions in this film, but fall a little short in the story and development of some characters. I still greatly recommend seeing this film, just don’t expect it to beat Inside Out earlier in 2015.
To date, one of my favourite Pixar films. After seeing it once, I couldn’t get enough. Simply had to pre-order. The scenic views are spectacular, and not to mention the storyline, Brilliant.
Pixar always have the impossible job or topping their last movie. This certainly isn't the best, although I would say Ratatouille is still their weakest movie. It's worth a watch.
I took my kids to see this at the cinema as we love Pixar. However this is the worst Pixar film by a long stretch. Yes it is targeted at a VERY young age group but this is where I missed the point. Previous Pixar films had a bit of everything for all ages. This fell way short. Furthermore the short film prior to the main event left all of the cinema thinking 'what was all that about ?'
Thank goodness we have Finding Dory and Toy Story 4 in 2016/17 - Pixar need to go back to making funny and charming films
Only plus - CGI keeps getting better and better
When I saw this movie, it touched my heart, and i’m never leaving that movie alone. The last bit made me cry. Well done, PIXAR! You deserve it!
