If you don’t like film remakes, then this is not the film for you. Pay no attention to the majority of 1 star reviews, I don’t believe that most of them have even watched this film. If you hate film remakes, and still buy this film just to have a good moan, then it really shows how obtuse you are. Try and watch this with an open mind, not an empty one, and you will find an entertaining film packed full of crazy stunts. It’s not meant to be real life, it is meant to be entertaining. I really enjoyed this film, it was entertaining, it has gorgeous cinematography, beautiful scenery, and some crazy stunts performed by crazy professionals. it is just a pity that it did not have the Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 soundtrack or the Dolby Atmos soundtrack that was recorded for this film. Please add them.

Great film. On the edge of my seat from start to finish

The real draw of the original point break was the "will he, wont he" plotline deciding if Keanus cop would "go maverick". This film rides right over that dilema cos it gets in the way of some "rad action scenes". Its dreadful, meandering, with no real likeable characters, and frankly the action scenes are no more than one could expect in a passable Bond film. First time Ive seen a trailbike jump a canyon and thought "oh, here we go again". This film is so bad it actually manages to get me to loathe any sort of ecowarrior, and the lasting impression I had was of the need to carve out my own eyes to remove the terrible damage they have seen.

OK, the original Point Break was great and it still looks amazing today. Cool.

But let's move on with an open mind to this new take. It's great! Super story, great acting, lovely locations - in fact, breath taking and some amazing extreme sports.

Forget the original for two hours and simply enjoy this. Picture quality in 1080p is outstanding although, the audio sounds a little flat and compressed.

I relayy enjoyed renting this film & I reckon that i'll buy it from iTuns to add to my collection.

Watch with an open mind and ENJOY!!!

I was in two minds whether to watch this as the original is one of my all time favorite films. But I was pleasantly surprised. Not a patch on the original but still a good film.

I waited with keen anticipation for the release of this. Now, all I can say is avoid it. An insult to the original IMO.

Oh dear I rented this with high expectations. But the film I rented was not point break it had the name but that was it. It's just a mess of a movie with a bad at best story line. I hate to compare it with the original but the original is way way better even though it's a bit dated now. Never remake a classic loads of people are let down by this lazy pathetic remake. It got that bad I fell asleep and missed the end lol. I assume it involves a big wave etc and surfing......

Absolutely rubbish, the lead actors have no charisma, Keanu and Swayze were great in the original. The high octane stunts are good i suppose but the movie has no charm and its 2 hrs of my life i will never get back. Dire.

Don't rent don't buy, don't waste you're time. Deleted third of the way in just awful.

If you can imagine tht this is a stand alone film, forget the original for 2 hours and switch off your brain this is an all out adrenaline rush. I nearly didnt rent this because of the other comments but I really liked it. Wing suiting, motocross, surfing, rock climbing, travelling, outdoormanship. It reminded me of a much more extreme version of my teenage years. good fun.

Loved the original but this is one of the worst films ever made. Terrible acting, poor plot and the hero is an idiot.

Having never seen the original film I thought this one was bloody brilliant news action packed and adrenaline pumping.

Were a few winks to the original, one of which made me cringe (firing the gun into the air)... casting was weak... but then Keafa ain't no thespien... so couldn't complain too much on that front.

What I did like were the risk scenes.... beautiful backdrops and some amazing stunts (hopefully not cgi).

If you haven't seen the original, then it's worth giving it a look (in much the same way you might a Van Diesal film)... if you have seen the original... then yeah, you might be disapointed when comparing the two.

What a shocking waste of money and resources. Only saving grace(s) are the stunts - and even they are so badly edited and bolstered with woeful compositing - and Edgar Ramirez. He's special. Don't waste your money.

Never felt motivated to write a review before, this was dire on so many levels

The original Point Break is a film I watch once a year. For me, it is to summer what Die Hard is to Christmas. This is not the original Point Break and in a lot of ways it would do itself less harm as a movie if it called itself something else. The premise has more depth through the Ozaki 8 and it attempts to deliver an important ecological message. The stunts are great and at times border on the breathtaking. The film falls down in part due to casting (and therefore acting) issues and through trying to ram as much of what made the original great, but ultimately damaged this as a spectacle in its own right. Now make me a prequel and focus competely on Ozaki and the creation of the 8.
