Description
Jake “the Snake” Roberts was among the most famous professional wrestlers in the world. Millions of fans were compelled by his intense and believable persona, and fans were always transfixed by the gigantic snakes he threw atop his opponents within the “squared circle”. His wit and skill on the microphone captured the attention of audiences around the world. His talent in the professional wrestling industry was undeniable. 30 years later, Roberts has lost nearly everything to his inner demons. His struggle with drugs and alcohol was highly publicized in tabloids and films. The millions of dollars he earned wrestling are gone. After two failed marriages, his 8 kids hardly know him. Barely able to afford rent of his small home, Jake waited for a lonely death. Along with everyone else, he had given up on his life. Unexpectedly, Jake gets a visit from an old friend, “Diamond” Dallas Page. 20 years earlier, Dallas Page was a nobody in wrestling when Roberts took him under his wing and taught him the “art” of professional wrestling. At the age of 35, everyone told page he was too old, yet Roberts helped him become one of the biggest names in the business. Jake believed in him when very few did. Owing much of his successful career to Robert’s teachings, Page returns to Jake’s life in an effort to repay him. “The Resurrection of Jake “The Snake” Roberts” follows the true account of what transpires next, as the two wrestlers who share a one-of-kind bond, struggle against Robert’s past demons and attempt to create a reason to live again. A story that transcends the fictional world of Professional Wrestling to reveal Roberts’ truly inspiring journey to love and respect himself.

This is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot. One man's journey is encapsulated in a way that breaks your heart, mends it, and then breaks it all over again. Must see for anyone, criminal not-to-see for pro-wrestling fans. Amazing.

Let me start by saying you don't have to be a wrestling fan to sit and watch this documentary!
I do happen to be a fan and so know what a tortured life Jake has led! Not all of Jake's demons are of his own creation, some he had no control of, and these would weigh heavy on anyone's mind, let alone an addictive personality in a notoriously addictive business!
Please take the time to read a little about his back story before watching this documentary - it will make this excellent piece all the more astounding!
The documentary made me cry, laugh, cry again, and.... you get the idea! We can all fall on hard times, and the demons can creep in on all of us, but it's great to know that it doesn't have to be permanent!
Dally (Diamond Dallas Page) in my opinion deserves the highest recognition! What an unbelievably caring, compassionate human being! Jake and Scott Hall might not be with us today if it wasn't for him! What he has done to clean these two guys up is nothing short of miraculous! They literally owe Dallas their lives! To see Jake so happy and content with his life gives me enormous pleasure, a tortured sole finally getting to grips with his demons! As he says himself, he's not 'better' or 'cured' or any of those things, Jake is an addict for life, but what he has now is the strength, power and belief in himself to keep his addictions in check! He has educated himself to combat the demons!
The Resurrection Of Jake The Snake is brilliantly told with all the emotion (and some!) anyone needs in 90 minutes of film, do yourselves a favour and sit down and watch this story of redemption at the Accountability Crib!

Absolutely brilliant, one of the all time greats and my number 1 wrestler of all time. Was so emotional when watching it, went from the lows to the highs. Jake Roberts still doing us proud after all these years and the amazing job Dallas Paige do's helping people is in real. I'd recommend this to everyone, not just wrestling fans as it relates to a lot of people. 5 stars all the way.

Great to see two legends in jake Roberts and Scott hall turn their lives around. Very emotional to watch at time. Diamon Dallas page deserves so much credit. He truly is an amazing guy. I'd say for any fan this is a must watch.

Wow what a rollercoaster of emotions this film is! So sad to see a childhood hero get to that point yet so heartwarming to see him turn it around. DDP is like a guardian angel in this movie! Well filmed and a must for any wrestling fan or anybody who just enjoys a film about people dealing with there demons. Truly inspirational.

Finally got around to watching this, and it was well worth it. Such an amazing journey to see how two guys turned their lives around, and managed to get back on track. I applaud Jake Roberts and Scott Hall for perserving, and keeping at it, and DDP for all the work he, and those around him did to help. Whether you're a wrestling fan or not, this is truly worth seeing.

An incredible story about making changes to your life, not wasting what is right there in front of you when you have achieved so much. Learning not to dwell on the high that was but to learn to enjoy and ride on the wave Jake made over the years in the squared circle. Realising the love that is around and the help that is there when the demons rear their ugly head. Everyone needs a Dallas Page in their life, someone to support you and show you that the right path is there to be chosen. What a story. I hope Jake turns up in the Rumble 2016, it would be incredible. Thanks to everyone involved in this film.

This much anticipated film has been the talk of wrestling fans worldwide. I’d been saving an iTunes voucher, especially for this release and it seems I was right in doing so.
A deep, dark, production with lots of positives and moments of humour, this is not just a wrestling documentary. This is a story for anyone who wants to overcome the odds, achieve self improvement and be a better human being.
DDP is the glue throughout this documentary, leading Jake and Scott Hall down a righteous path, mending their troubles, supporting their desire to fix themselves and maintaining a positive outlook. Scott Hall responds fantastically to the progress made by the much troubled Roberts and the two of them provide a very personal glimpse into their dark and troubled lives.
Highlights include Jake’s announcement to DDP regarding the WWE Hall Of Fame and the emotional reaction from Scott Hall when he realises that he can be better and that people do care about him.
This is a story of two tough guys who are wary to show their vulnerabilities and once they open up, they begin their journey back towards greatness.
You will laugh and you will cry but you will mostly feel great by the end of this tale. Don’t waste anytime. Buy it now and own a truly great piece of magic.

Great film showing addiction and how with freinds and family you cant beat anything. Loved seeing jake and hall getting better to many wrestlers die to early shown by this year alone happy see them taking care of themself.

I sat watched it 3 times now and every time I watch it it makes me cry. See how low Jake was it was so upsetting I have had problems to with drink and know hard it is to get of it. The film really moved me and I have now downloaded the DDP yoga now app to carry on to changed me life thank u for the inspiration to keep my life clean love my family and to love myself. Jake DDP and Scott u are the best.

This movie will have you hooked from start to finish, You dont have to be a wrestling fan to enjoy this movie but you do have to be ready for it to get emotional, This is a five star film and thats only because i couldnt rate it more, its moving, its powerful and its insparational,

I don't write reviews, in fact I think this may be my first one.
As a fan of Jake the Snake and wrestling as a kid, you never get to see the emotions behind the wrestlers. You don't get to see there demons that they're facing or problems that they have. This documentary is REAL. Real lives, real problems, real people. DDP and his YOGA team are amazing and this documentary is absolutely 5 star amazing. Well done to all involved and well done especially to DDP, Jake the Snake and Scott Hall 👍🏼

A heartwarming documentary, showcasing one wrestler's determination to never give up on his friends. Friends who helped launch his career but whom now have fallen to their lowest points. Through hard work, determination and love, DDP helped Jake the snake and Scott Hall turn their lives around and improve their overall fitness in the process. The documentary is brilliant, it shows the lows as well as the highs and takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride that's final destination is a pride-filled return home!

I’ve been waiting for this documentary film to be released for quite a while now since I first found it might be being released from an interview I saw of Diamond Dallas Page back in 2013. Now it’s finally here and it was definitely worth the wait.
I remember watching Jake the Snake and Razor Ramon as a kid, but you never think you’ll see your wrestling heroes like you do in this documentary. From seeing these guys at the heights of their profession to how you re-join them here in this film, is quite shocking. Thankfully they have a friend to help them back from the abyss.
It’s a very revealing piece of filmmaking on exactly how fictional movies such as The Wrestler, can often turn out to be 'not that far from the truth' for many of these former athletes and sports entertainers.
You don’t need to have an interest in professional wrestling or sports in general to appreciate the difficult journey that is undertaken here, it’s more than a wrestling story, more than a fitness or recuperation story, it’s a human story.
It’s the best documentary film I’ve seen since Senna…I highly recommend that you see it too.
Forget wrestling. This is just a great film!

After following the story since DDP reached out to Jake, it feels like I have been waiting forever to get a chance to watch the documentary. I have to say, it has been worth the wait. The story that is told is one that many people can relate to. Sometimes we loose our way on this road called life and it takes someone else to help guide us back to where we need to be. This documentary is funny, moving, emotional and up lifting. We should all remember that bad times come, bad times go, bad guys live forever and don't let your history be your destiny! BANG.

This is a story of unconditional friendship and the journey of a man caught in the grip of addiction and servere depression.
Watching this documentary, it shows how alcoholism can wreck families and push friendships to there absolute limit, but this documentary also displays acts of brotherly love, hope and can foster hope to others where they may have thought that all was lost.
Jake was my favourite wrestler when I was a kid and to see him fall and be the subject of complete character assassinations in other 'documentaries' hurt me as a fan but never stopped me from praying that he would get better.......then along came DIamond Dallas Page.
Watching a broken man go from having zero hope or faith in life or humanity, be rebuilt and become Jake The Snake again is simply magical and borderline miraculous.

Every single person suffering from the disease of addiction needs to watch this film. Brutally honest and hard hitting. One minute I've got a lump in my throat, the next I'm laughing. This documentary is award winning material. Cannot recommend this enough. NEVER GIVE UP!

Great film about two wrestling heroes. As a pro wrestling fan Scott Hall and Jake are two of my favourites so it's great to see their recovery process.

I was very excited when I heard about this film, but I did have some concerns. As an addictions therapist I was worried that it may sell DDP yoga as a revolutionary treatment for addiction at the expense of all other mutual aid groups. It doesn't. DDP himself talks to Jake about how many AA meetings he's been to and encourages him to go. It also shows that as well as the support he gets from the family at the crib he also attends 90 meetings in 90 days. This is not a film directly about those groups but it rightly acknowledges that they are all part of Jakes road to recovery.
The movie itself, despite checking out at a happy point in the lives of those it portrays by no means proclaims that everything is fixed. This is very true when it comes to addiction. It does not try to sell DDP as a cure all, in fact I was surprised at actually understated Dallas is in it, really allowing the spotlight to be shone on jake, and later on Scot.
Overall it is a great film for anyone interested in addiction, tales of hard work and redemption, those in need of some inspiration and off course wrestling fans will love it.

It shows how friendship, loyalty and selflessness can help someone who thought they where to far gone to help realise their self worth as a human being again. This documentary is not just a wrestling story it is a life story for anyone going through similar circumstances.

Forever a fan of Jake, Scott and Dallas!
Utterly amazing documentary! I had watched many clips related to the making of this documentary on Dallas' youtube, however nothing compares to watching this as a complete product.
The problems and demons, in which Jake and Scott have faced over the years have been widely publicised. This documentary however, absolutely drives them home and shows the hardships these men have faced to overcome their demons!.
Anyone who has grown up watching these men, much as I have, should see this documentary without a doubt.

I've been a pro wrestling fan for 23 years now. When I started watching at just 3 years old in the early 90's Jake 'The Snake' Roberts was by far one of my favorites along with Razor Ramon when he burst onto the scene, which is why it was upsetting to find out about the troubles they were facing later in life. I'll not give too much away, but I will say that whether you're a wrestling fan or not this is a must watch, it's an emotional roller coaster that takes you and shows you the struggles of battling with addiction but at the same time showing you why it's worth battling and overcoming the addiction to live your dream whatever it may be. Big thank you to Diamond Dallas Page (A wrestling legend) and DDP Yoga for reaching out, helping and saving the lives of two of the all time greats of Pro Wrestling.

Wrestling fans will love, those looking to be inspired and hope will also find solace in this.

Where do I begin? I’ve been following the progress of Jake for two years vie DDP’s YouTube account and was so so happy to see a childhood hero triumph in life where many have sadly failed. This documentary is easily the longest I have ever wait for something to be released in my life…but was it worth it?
You’re damn right it was! Now one of the greatest documentaries I have ever seen, this has absolutely everything in it. Laughter, sadness, failed, tears, triumph and love. It’s perfect.
Everybody should watch it quite frankly, I know wrestling fans will definitely buy this but the non Wrestling fans have to see it also. It just shows how childhood traumas can cause so much hurt, how addiction can cause so much pain and heartache but we also get to see the other side (thankfully). The side where somebody wins! the side where Jake Roberts beats drugs and alcohol. They may not be down and out completely but jake isn’t letting his addiction get back up off the canvas.
I’m not much of a religious and fate person but I unexpectedly won a trip to WrestleMania 30 and got to see Jake (with Dallas inducting) and Scott going into the Hall of Fame in person. I actually felt like I was on this entire journey with them and got to see it come full circle in person. An incredible moment that will stay with me forever and I just hope Jake and Scott can keep beating this addiction and stay with us for a very long time as well.
Dallas you deserve a knighthood bro. BANG!!!
