Four Corners constructs diverse story threads in an explosive narrative around family, community, and the urgent Rights of the Child issues that surround the emergence of South African street gangs. This coming of age thriller probes the reality of everyday life in the 'forgotten' Cape Flats, where forced removals and historic manipulation of the status and rights of communities have contributed to the levels of trauma and displacement suffered by families caught in an ongoing gang war. As a young boy comes of age, a father searches for his long lost son in streets divided by that war, and the devastating role of the 100 year old Number Gang comes to the fore - allocating, usurping and controlling notions of family and identity. At the climax the young boy is forced to make a choice between the family of the gangs and the real family he's never known.
