A timeless and moving romantic comedy. Uptight mother Maggie (Sarah Jessica Parker: Sex and the City) and her former Italian lover, Luca, go on a road trip across scenic Italy pursuing Maggie's rebellious teenage daughter (Rosie Day: Outlander) who tries desperately to return to New York. An unmissable, feel-good rom-com with a stellar cast. Not to be missed!

SJP is ok in this but the teenage actress is just terrible and the whole storyline utterly ridiculous. I can see why it was 99p! 😬
Oh dear!

This was so awful, I don't know where to begin!! The story was weak, as was the acting. Definitely would not recommend.
Had to stop watching part way through it was so bad.

The other reviewers must have watched a different film - this has a wafer-thin plot; spoiler alert - this is the total plot: "Dishy Italian bloke puts life on hold for 20 years in case the American tourist who came on holiday 20 years ago ever returns."
Painting a wall and watching it dry will be more entertaining than this exercise in tedium.
Just awful

The plot was foreseeable; unconvincing, the dialogue was trite. Quite embarrassing to watch it was so poor. Shame I can’t give it a minus. Just dreadful.

I’ve been waiting for SJP to do a new rom-com for ages and this didn’t disappoint! a really sweet story and a great location too. Eat, Pray, Love or Leap Year come to mind. And nice to see a love story that’s not about 20-somethings!
Sweet film for the SJP fans

This story of a teenage daughter that teams up with the mother of her mom's ex-lover to escape their respective "guardians" is quite cute. Reluctant to work together with the older woman at first, the teenager learns to appreciate the wisdom of age. A bit on the cheesy site at times it is still entertaining to watch an old flame re-spark on the chase. A Rom-Com Road Movie set in the lovely Italian landscape, certainly worth the watch.
