This "comedy" is plain stupid and disgusting at times. Turned off not even half way through. If I could I wouldn't give even 1 star.
The story follows a British black ops agent who is forced to go on the run with his long-lost brother, an English soccer hooligan.
This in parts is crude and utterly gross but my husband and I found it a proper belly laugh. Best not watched with your teenage children or elderly mother
For a 99p rental, it's not bad.
As a quick review. This film was not funny, poor storyline and the "1st person" camera angle gave me headache.
2 stars as it only costed me 99p.
Oh god this film was foul
This is one of the funniest films I have seen in a long time, very very rude and in parts very very disgusting but brilliant, could not breathe from so much laughter.
Cohen is a genius, I cannot believe how he manages to get these actors to do what they do.
Great film, great plot, no boring slow bits at all.
Watch it and enjoy.
sO WATCH IT, OK . WE COULDNT BE MORE MIDDLE GOD DAMN CLASS AND IT WAS BRILLIANT
Not even worth the 99p rental fee or the time I spent watching it. This is no Ali g, nor at or even talladega nights
it’s a good laugh. It’s satire. Stop being so joyless you lot. It was great fun, well made, and I laughed a lot more than I have at other comedy films in recent times. poked good fun at northern British culture and football culture, and has an easy to swallow (Mind the word play) plot line, with some dirty crude humour AND some clever quick humour mixed it. Genuinely enjoyed this film, and for 0.99p rent, in no way is it a waste of your money even if it’s not your cup of tea!
The joke normalising child abuse at the end just wasn't. "This character's a child abuser, ha-ha-ha!" (abused child laughs too with a loving look to her abuser). No.
very funny film action and a good laugh
...like Sasha's style of humour which I do.
And not funny again.
This is hysterical! I have to say my husband was not a fan, and kept staring at me as I laughed my way through... sometimes I was laughing from the plot but other times just that SBC had got Mark Strong to do some of the scenes! Brilliant
Lots and lots of crude humour, you'll either love it or hate it; I loved it.
tired jokes, bad continuity , real barrel scraping stuff.
Arguably the worst film ever made. Poor jokes, no plot, over acting, run out of ideas with this. Save your money.
It had a few laughs, but that's it.
That also includes the credits at the start. Taking to CEX to get hopefully a fiver back from my tenner spent! Trailer looked so funny! So wrong!! Absolute 💩!!!! Lame set ups! Can see them a mile off! Those that gave it 5 stars must be 12 years old!
Defenantly the funniest movie i have ever seen really good.
The worst film I have ever seen. Stupid and idiotic, but not funny in any way.
Could have had so much potential but was lame at best. Schmaltzy in places which just made it weird. I think Sacha you need to give up on action, go low budget so you can concentrate on the dialogue because that is where your skills lie.
One of the worst films ever ... some scenes are simply sickening!
this is the worst movie ever, keep your money in your pocket. Loved Borat, Dictator etc. but this was drivel.
Well I was looking forward to this, however..... it really is a dire film, there are a few genuinely funny moments that made me laugh, however they do not make up for the rest of the film, save your money is my advice people.
Made me and the Mrs laugh
the whole way through
Dreadful......full stop. Do not waste your money,
Went to see this at the cinema as I fell for the trailer which suggested this was going to be ok. However I was left thinking how desperate this film was, resorting to crude unfunny and smutty jokes. The elephant scene was tacky and not for the faint hearted, the sight of blokes with beer guts running across a football pitch not funny. Come on Sacha B C, you can do better than this drivel.
Really, really laughed a lot.....then felt ashamed....then laughed some more....then wept for my immortal soul in the elephant scene and when it ended I felt dirty and used. It's at the seriously older end of 15 certificate so be warned. Sacha Baron Cohen is a very naughty man but it is very, very funny.
If you listen to this film, just audio no picture, you will laugh. If you watch the film with no audio just pictures, you will laugh. If you put them together you will need a few week to recover.
Great one liners.
Staggered that people actually found this funny or indeed watchable. Genuinely the worst film I've ever seen. Borat was brilliant, this is truly appalling.
It was a great film , a must see if you need to cheat your self up!
It's a bit forced the lame comedy but the scene when they hide inside a Elephants vagina in season did tickle me! Also Scott Adkins has a decent fight scene..
Won't watch Dumbo in the same way again that's for sure !
Never laughed so much in my life, must watch funny from start to finish
I for one loved it. I had my reservations that the funniest bits we would have seen in the trailers. Absolutely not! I spent the whole 83 mins laughing to the point of crying. Yes it was near to the bone in places, completely ridiculous in others, but boy was it funny. Already pre-ordered on iTunes as its the type of film I can put on when I want a moral boost. I can see why people don't like the film, however I did, very much.
I watched Grimsby at the cinema after watching the trailers thinking it looked good yet i had doubts after i wasnt a fan of some Sacha Baron Cohen previous films such as Bruno and Borat :/
anyhow i was pleasantly surprised to find it by far the best out of Sacha Baron Cohen films to date plenty of funny scenes whilst still having a okay story to it ( for a comedy action film !) and action.
Defintley worth a watch ! :)
The funniest film I have seen in soooo long. Watched this at the cinema and laughed out loud from start to finish.... Brilliant!!
