Exhilarating and astonishingly ambitious, Victoria is an adrenaline-fuelled heist thriller set on the streets of night-time Berlin that features the staggering technical feat of being shot in a single, unbroken take. Victoria, a young woman from Madrid, meets four local guys outside a nightclub in the early hours of the morning. Sonne and his friends are Berliners who promise to show her the real side of the city. Striking up a friendship, they take to a nearby rooftop to continue the night. But when the group are suddenly forced to repay a debt to a member of the city’s criminal underworld, the night quickly spirals out of control. Winner of the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Achievement at Berlinale 2015, Victoria is a breathless, visceral thrill-ride of a film. Aided by a booming techno soundtrack by German composer Nils Frahm, it is a must-see for fans of edge-of-your-seat thrillers and boundary-pushing cinema.

An excellent thriller
Why can't more thrillers be filled with surprises and characters like this? I enjoyed this from start to finish. I'm just glad none of my hitch hiking / inter railing exploits spun out of control like this!

Had to review this
As it must be one of the best things I've seen this year. Moving away from the usual scenes, cuts and edits gives the viewer a very different perspective. That and the acting, the clever camera work, and what must have been meticulous planning, makes this one to watch. Prepare to wear the edge of your seat down.

A drama driven thriller
I acknowledge that others disagree, but I found this film gripping... I did not find the story slow, and the character development was decent. One of the nice touches that you don't often see in films is the use of English as a second language. What I mean by this is that the German actors would speak German to each other (hence need for subtitles) but as the female lead was Spanish and did not speak German, they used English as a common ground.
An all round solid fim and that's why I'm giving it a 5.

Mediocre
I have given this 2 stars, because I admire the fact that the director had the courage and ability to produce a film in one take. But, if I compare this to films that use multiple takes, this film is mediocre at best. In fact, I was pretty bored by the end. The best part was the protagonist playing the piano, near the beginning of the film. From, there on in, the film ambled along.
This movie was just way too long, and could have been edited down to about 80 minutes.
I am afraid I cannot recommend this film.

Stunning milestone in film
Utterly stunning. Shot in one long take. Watch the plot unfold in real time, slowly, often without incident. That's real life. Then the plot thickens and the incidents intervene, affecting every character's life. Even then the pace is real time. Where's the ambulance? It was only called two minutes ago! Get used to the realistic pace and this film could change your life ....

Had to give up
Not to my taste. I found it pedestrian and unwatchable. Ended up skipping forward in the hope of things picking up. For me, it would have been improved by editing.
